Waccamaw River 2016
Every year we try to ride our jet ski's from HWY 9 down the Waccamaw River to Conway SC. This year the water is very high. It was hard to tell if your in the river or in the woods. We did make it in about three hours which is a very good time. The first time the river was very low. It took us 8 1/2 hours to make the trip. Here are some highlights of the trip.(Mounting the camera on the hood was not a good idea)

Waccamaw River Red Bluff to Star Bluff
The river level was at 7.2 ft today, much lower than I am used to seeing. Lots of nice, white sandy beaches that are normally underwater. We also jumped a few logs along the way, not a problem for the jet boat. However, just above Star Bluff where the river gets less than 20 ft wide in a cut-thru, the passage was obstructed by a couple of large trees, preventing us from continuing our journey to the NC/SC border. There's always next time, though.
