Wadi Bani Khalid, Oman
This have been take by my phone in my last tour this week. Shows Wadi Bani Khalid from the top of the mountain. The Wadi located in North A'Sharqiyah Governorate, Sultanate of Oman.
Oman Wadi Dima Wa Al Tayeen in Al Sharqiyah
Wadi Dima is another Oman wadi located in Wilayat Dima Wa Al Tayeen in Al Sharqiyah region. Wadi Dima and Wadi Al Tayeen merge and flow into Wadi Dhayqah Dam in Qurayat.
Wadi Dima is an excellent spot for a BBQ trip and trekking. This place will make your picnic a pleasant one with its water pools and smooth rocks.
The place is rugged and remote, Dima wa’Tayeen in the Sharqiya region, is distinctively unique from other wadis in Oman. Such a mountainous and barren landscape with abundant water supply cannot be found anywhere else in the Sultanate of Oman.
This beauty of nature makes a tour of this wadi so rewarded, both for nature lovers and for people looking for some off-road driving adventure.
The area lies between two mountain ranges, the northern border is the wilayat of Quriyat separated by the formidable Eastern Hajar peaks..
The majority of its residents live in some 51 villages, which mainly frame the fringes of the wilayat’s major wadis. Hundreds of tranquil streams criss cross the terrain which eventually meet up with the four giant wadis. The wilayat got its name from two big wadis — Dima and Tayeen.
These two wadis meet at Al Ghayyan village and thereafter flow as one wadi, known as Wadi Tayeen. At Ghubrat at Tam, it makes a spectacle breach of the Jebel Aswad mountain range, thereupon it is called as Wadi Dayqah.
One hour drive from the Wali’s office at Mehlah, along the course of Wadi Tayeen, will get you to the Devil’s Gap. This is the mouth of the canyon where Wadi Dayqah begins its sumptuous course through an 18-km long gorge.
Because of the remarkably rugged terrain, intersected by numerous wadis and streams, there were no paved roads to reach the wadi. The construction plans are going here to link Dima wa’Tayeen with the Muscat-Sur higway. Now enjoying Dima wa’ Tayeen’s landscape needs a 4 wheel drive vehicle.

Salalah - Wadi Shab - Oman 2018
The country has so much to offer in terms of natural beauty, culture, infrastructure and most of all very nice people.
Wadi Shab is located in the Al Sharqiyah region in Oman, it is less than 2 hours drive from Muscat and you can combine your trip here with a visit to Wadi Tiwi, Bimmah Sinkhole and/or the lovely beach of Tiwi. The wadi is definitely very popular and it gets very busy during public holidays with many families having a picnic at the entrance of the wadi, so best to avoid it during that time if you don’t like crowded wadis.
In Salalah Mughsyl beach and Marneef cave with the fountains are the star attraction. The drive through the ecotic hills and then arriving at beach after that drivi g further to the Marneef cave.On a raised platform the tourists are treated to the magnificent sea waves power display. Especially during high tides, the waves strike against the rocks that the water rises like fountain through the numerous natural holes in the tocks.
A place definitely worth visiting.
Ras Al Jinz Turtle Reserve, a unique natural landscape, unspoiled shorelines, golden deserts, luxuriant green oases and rugged mountains. Ras Al Jinz is world renown for the nesting of the endangered green turtle (Cheloniamydas), probably the most important nesting concentration on the Indian Ocean. This is the only place where public can watch the nesting process of these amazing sea-giants. A once in a lifetime opportunity.

One of the Beautiful Wadi in Oman Wadi Al Shab ഒമാനിലെ സുന്ദരമായ വാദി അൽ ഷാബിലേക്കു ഒരു യാത്ര ...
Wadi Al Shab Located in Al Sharqiyah South Governorate, in an a place called Tiwi that is part of Sur. It is a 2 hour drive from the centre of Muscat. Areas of this wadi are only accessible by boat.
To reach the waterfall cave, which makes Wadi Shab different from most other wadis, you will need to hike for approximately 3km, but it's absolutely worth it when you get there!

Oman is an Arab country on the southeastern coast of the Arabian Peninsula. Holding a strategically important position at the mouth of the Persian Gulf, the country shares land borders with the United Arab Emirates to the northwest, Saudi Arabia to the west, and Yemen to the southwest, and shares marine borders with Iran and Pakistan. The coast is formed by the Arabian Sea on the southeast and the Gulf of Oman on the northeast.
From the late 17th century, the Omani Sultanate was a powerful empire, vying with Portugal and Britain for influence in the Persian Gulfand Indian Ocean. Historically, Muscat was the principal trading port of the Persian Gulf region. Muscat was also among the most important trading ports of the Indian Ocean. Oman's official religion is Islam.
Oman is an absolute monarchy. The Sultan Qaboos bin Said al Said has been the hereditary leader of the country since 1970. Sultan Qaboos is the longest-serving current ruler in the Middle East, and fourth-longest current reigning monarch in the world.
At Aybut Al Auwal, in the Dhofar Governorate of Oman, a site was discovered in 2011 containing more than 100 surface scatters of stone tools, belonging to a regionally specific African lithic industry –the late Nubian Complex– known previously only from the northeast and Horn of Africa.
Dereaze, located in the city of Ibri, is the oldest known human settlement in the area, dating back as many as 8,000 years to the Late Stone Age. Archaeological remains have been discovered here from the Stone Age and the Bronze Age. Many such tribes settled in Oman, making a living by fishing, herding or stock breeding.
Sumerian tablets refer to a country called Magan or Makan, a name believed to refer to Oman's ancient copper mines. Mazoon, another name used for the region, is derived from the word muzn, which means heavy clouds which carry abundant water. The present-day name of the country, Oman, is believed to originate from the Arab tribes who migrated to its territory from the Uman region of Yemen.
From the 6th century BC to the arrival of Islam in the 7th century AD, Oman was controlled and/or influenced by three Persiandynasties: the Achaemenids, Parthians and Sassanids. The conversion of the Omanis is usually ascribed to Amr ibn al-As, who was sent by the Prophet Muhammad [PBUH] during the Expedition of Zaid ibn Haritha (Hisma).

SUMMARY
=======
Oman ( ( listen) oh-MAHN; Arabic: عمان ʻumān [ʕʊˈmaːn]), officially the Sultanate of Oman (Arabic: سلطنة عُمان Salṭanat ʻUmān), is an Arab country on the southeastern coast of the Arabian Peninsula in Western Asia. Its official religion is Islam.
The Madha and Musandam exclaves are surrounded by the UAE on their land borders, with the Strait of Hormuz (which it shares with Iran) and Gulf of Oman forming Musandam's coastal boundaries.
From the late 17th century, the Omani Sultanate was a powerful empire, vying with Portugal and Britain for influence in the Persian Gulf and Indian Ocean. At its peak in the 19th century, Omani influence or control extended across the Strait of Hormuz to modern-day Iran and Pakistan, and as far south as Zanzibar. As its power declined in the 20th century, the sultanate came under the influence of the United Kingdom. Historically, Muscat was the principal trading port of the Persian Gulf region. Muscat was also among the most important trading ports of the Indian Ocean.
The Sultan Qaboos bin Said al Said has been the hereditary leader of the country, an absolute monarchy, since 1970. Sultan Qaboos is the longest-serving current ruler in the Middle East, and third-longest current reigning monarch in the world.
Oman is a member of the United Nations, the Arab League, the Gulf Cooperation Council, the Non-Aligned Movement and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation. It has sizable oil reserves, ranking 25th globally. Nevertheless, in 2010 the UNDP ranked Oman as the most improved nation in the world in terms of development during the preceding 40 years. A significant portion of its economy involves tourism and trade of fish, dates, and certain agricultural produce. This sets it apart from its neighbors' largely oil-dependent economies. Oman is categorized as a high-income economy and ranks as the 70th most peaceful country in the world according to the Global Peace Index.
