Oman Wadi Tiwi & Mibam Village adventure 2018 Full HD /وادي طيوي وقرية ميبام
Wadi Tiwi & Mibam Village
Wadi Tiwi is a wadi in Al Sharqiyah region, adjacent to the very popular Wadi Shab but unique in its own way with numerous farms and plantations dotting the wadi, and a stunning pool deep inside towards Mibam village . Wadi Tiwi, which is named after Tiwi village at the coast, is a truly beautiful wadi with the lush plantations giving it a different (certainly greener) feel than many other wadis.
A visit to Wadi Tiwi is a unique experience compared to other wadis we have visited previously
How to get to Wadi Tiwi:
Wadi Tiwi is approximately 160 kms from Muscat through the Sharqiyah highway towards Sur. You will need to take the exit towards Tiwi village, a couple of kilometeres after passing the Wadi Shab exit and immediately after you pass the bridge across Wadi Tiwi (i.e. the second wadi-crossing-bridge as the first bridge goes through Wadi Shab). From there follow the road towards the village, and immediately after crossing the road at the mouth of the wadi near the beach, you’ll need to turn left and head straight inside Wadi Tiwi (same direction as a signpost on your right pointing to E35 Trekking Path, but the sign can be easily missed).
It is under 10 km driving distance inside Wadi Tiwi to Mibam village. The road is initially paved, although it can be deceptively dangerous as it can get very slippery with water and seaweed on it, so be very cautious. Half-way through you’ll be passing through the narrow streets of Harat Bidah village, be careful as you’ll need drive through some very tight roads while also keeping an eye for incoming traffic on the other side. The paved section ends after this village and the route becomes a mountain path above the wadi to the parking spot where you can start your hike, or all the way to Mibam Village, where you can park near the waste bins . Wherever you stop, you will be passing through another signpost pointing towards the start of the E35 hiking trail which connects to Wadi Bani Khalid (a challenging 2-day trail which we are yet to embark on).
You will definitely need a 4WD car here. Please be considerate to the villagers living here especially when parking your car, as space is very tight and the roads are narrow

Wadi Shab also spelled Wadi Shaab, is a very popular wadi located in the Al Sharqiyah Region in Oman. It is a very popular outdoor attraction for both locals and expats, and people come here for the nature, to swim in the fresh water pools or just to have a barbecue.
A couple of kilometres south of Wadi Shab lies the almost identical Wadi Tiwi, another spectacularly deep and narrow gorge carved out of the mountains, running between towering cliffs right down to the sea. It’s less unspoiled than Wadi Shab, thanks to the presence of a road through the ravine
Oman Wadi Dima Wa Al Tayeen in Al Sharqiyah
Wadi Dima is another Oman wadi located in Wilayat Dima Wa Al Tayeen in Al Sharqiyah region. Wadi Dima and Wadi Al Tayeen merge and flow into Wadi Dhayqah Dam in Qurayat.
Wadi Dima is an excellent spot for a BBQ trip and trekking. This place will make your picnic a pleasant one with its water pools and smooth rocks.
The place is rugged and remote, Dima wa’Tayeen in the Sharqiya region, is distinctively unique from other wadis in Oman. Such a mountainous and barren landscape with abundant water supply cannot be found anywhere else in the Sultanate of Oman.
This beauty of nature makes a tour of this wadi so rewarded, both for nature lovers and for people looking for some off-road driving adventure.
The area lies between two mountain ranges, the northern border is the wilayat of Quriyat separated by the formidable Eastern Hajar peaks..
The majority of its residents live in some 51 villages, which mainly frame the fringes of the wilayat’s major wadis. Hundreds of tranquil streams criss cross the terrain which eventually meet up with the four giant wadis. The wilayat got its name from two big wadis — Dima and Tayeen.
These two wadis meet at Al Ghayyan village and thereafter flow as one wadi, known as Wadi Tayeen. At Ghubrat at Tam, it makes a spectacle breach of the Jebel Aswad mountain range, thereupon it is called as Wadi Dayqah.
One hour drive from the Wali’s office at Mehlah, along the course of Wadi Tayeen, will get you to the Devil’s Gap. This is the mouth of the canyon where Wadi Dayqah begins its sumptuous course through an 18-km long gorge.
Because of the remarkably rugged terrain, intersected by numerous wadis and streams, there were no paved roads to reach the wadi. The construction plans are going here to link Dima wa’Tayeen with the Muscat-Sur higway. Now enjoying Dima wa’ Tayeen’s landscape needs a 4 wheel drive vehicle.

After a long time I'm back!! ????
Let's start with a video of Wadi Shab, and some parts of Al sharqiyah Region which Lonely Planet calls 'one of the most gorgeous destinations in Oman' and that I have included in my video. Enjoy ????
Wadi Shab Oman is one of the most popular gorges in the Sultanate. The place is a paradise to which access is limited via the river, so hiking and swimming are involved to reach some sections (such as the cave and the waterfall).
