Camping in BEAUTIFUL BC! - Yoho National Park & Emerald Lake
Exploring Yoho National Park and the FAMOUS Emerald Lake, THEN free camping back in Beautiful British Columbia! It's where this RV Canada Travel Vlog all began and it feels like home, the Rocky Mountains.
Hey hey welcome back you guys, and thank you for being here. After leaving Tunnel Mountain in Banff National Park, we began RVing West on the Trans Canada again, stopping by a few viewpoints like Castle Mountain we had missed passing through previously. Passing through the Rocky Mountains really does feel like entering home territory again, like when we passed them to begin the adventure East at the start of this summer as novices.
Our first big stop for the day was the pretty world famous Emerald Lake, and I imagine you can guess why. The water looked unreal, and it was super busy there even though we're in fall now. Lucky for us we somehow snagged front row RV parking haha. Win! We checked out the Emerald Lake cottages there and imagined what that life must be like, watched a random guy sing and enjoyed the picture perfect nature. We even managed to get an awesome Yoho National Park & Emerald Lake two in one magnet talk about a good find. They had so much nice merchandise there though, magnets, patches, stickers, all suuuper cool.
After the busy tourist scene of Emerald Lake it was off to our first Boondocking free camping site we stayed at, Waitabit Creek. It's a British Columbia Recreation Campsite so you are generally allowed 14 days free, or sometimes minimal fees if serviced and we love them. The glacier River running right beside our RV campsite was perfect. You can even see Glacier National Park in the distance which we also visit passing through. We can't wait to continue to RV BC more and explore our own home province and get to know it more. You'll soon see just how diverse a small patch can be from another area, and we've never even headed north in BC yet. Northern BC RV next year maybe? Haha.
The across Canada RV travel vlog section may be entering BC again, but there is still lots more RV camping to be had everyone. With lots more recreation sites, and a huge array of camping you'll see why BC if so world famous. Hope you guys enjoyed today's RV blog video, and we'll see you next video Wednesday!
Best wishes,
Luke and Alysha

golden times
me and some friends haven some fun in Golden. BC
Day 1: John's Columbia River Trip 2016 - Golden BC to Donald
Day 1 - John's Columbia river trip - Golden BC to Donald Bridge about 20 miles. Video highlights the addition of 2 rivers to the flow, passing 2 bridges, and some general descriptions of locations on the river. This was a very pleasant paddle with current the whole way and took a little over 5 hours. Camped on an island north of Donald bridge. The main reason being to keep away from bears which would have to swim to the island. I did have company that night as a bull elk made its bed on the island but not before bugling its presence. I will have about 7-8 more videos as I believe I have one for each day..
Full-Time RV Living and Traveling - Boondocking at Stunning FREE Campsite
We've departed for full-time RV life! The 20,000+KM road trip in Canada starts now friends, it's real! This first FREE glacial riverside camp site in the mountains was a great way to kick off the trip with a little boondocking too.
I'm very proud to say everybody, that it's time!! We've owned the RV for over half a year now and it feels great to know we are actually going to be living in it full time, while travelling too! We had this all dreamt out way in advance before our border denial (old video) so for it to finally begin now that Canada is warm enough here we go take 2.0, no borders edition. We are going West to East across Canada and then back again so 2 full trips coast to coast in our little motorhome over the summer and fall, camping a long the way. It's a big change compared to our little stint in Asia as a fall back option for winter, but think you guys will really love Canada and the RV lifestyle.
I truly believe everyone should try an RV road trip. The freedom RV life provides every morning waking up in the same bed, with a different view is something else. The amount of little local stores and towns we've been to and seen already is huge. It's so affordable as a lifestyle/option/retirement option. You can live for less money, with less clutter and experience so much more and we hope to convey that here.
So far our trip has been amazing. The free campsite with views like that, and a picnic table, fire pit and outhouses right off of the highway is a perfect example of how unique this travel is. We had a blast taking in the scenery here and having more firewood access like we did in our trial run last video. It was a picturesque experience to start the trip with that we are so grateful for, and for the beautiful province of BC we come from. We spent a total of 3 nights at this place with fires, droning, editing and good old fashion camping relaxations.
The campsite was at Waitabit Creek just west of Donald, BC on the Riverbend and if you're ever passing through there we highly recommend enjoying a night pit stop there, even just bring a tent! It's spots like these that just amaze you they're free. Our RV has water tanks, a fridge, stove, washroom, propane and a generator built in so we can live in a spot like these as comfortable as anywhere else. Some people spend $40 a night on a wall to wall RV pad as their freedom while this unbelievable beauties are out there, and we hope to find plenty more!
In our next video we explore perhaps Canada's most famous attraction, Banff! We just finished spending 3 nights there (Next video coming up!) at the tunnel mountain village 2 campground. It wasn't a free campsite but to be in a national park that has transit options into the city vs. the gas money to drive out of national park territory and then back in the next day would work out to more than the cost of the site itself, let alone the awesome experiences we had living in the park! You will all love the stunning views of Banff, we even just recently on our last day in Banff saw a small black bear when we had to check out, so that was super cool this early on as well. More to come next episode in the great expedition of the full time rv lifestyle!
Until next time dear friends, hope you liked our first of many more RV series videos coming your way. Like the video of you enjoyed the next content and be subscribed for new videos coming 2x a week, Wednesday/Saturday's of our
daily RV journey as we settle in to it!

Luke and Alysha

Coffee Cultures Jarvis St Coffee Muffin Linda Harold Daisy FE Santa Parade Day Nov 18 2012
they don't allow dogs inside the cafe. we had to wait 2 hours more for the parade because the flyers had a typo! they said it would start at 1230 pm. So we decided to have a coffee and sit and wait a bit for people to show up. met some of the locals and people we've know from other friends..
Loved the orange cranberry muffin (addictive) and had a regular coffee with a shot of hazelnut (sweet enough without any sugar) with cream. Harry had a regular coffee double double.

Song Sparrow & Hummingbird
I was working to capture the song of a Song Sparrow sitting nearby in the reeds of the South Pond at behind The Hermitage, a Common Yellowthroat is singing in the background — which irritated me, so I turned off my camera. When I watched the video I realized there was a hummingbird in the last frame. Look to the top left.
