Iceland Vlog: Day 16 (Reykjavik)
Welcome back to our Iceland road trip travel vlog! Today we take you to the capital, Reykjavik!
Day 16:
- We woke up early and drove to Reykjavik, it was about a 50min drive from our campsite.
- We had been worried about where we were going to park as it was a Saturday and there was a music and arts festival taking place, but we were very lucky to find a parking space for free about 10mins from the city centre.
- First of all we went to the famous Hellgrimskirkja Church, which is supposedly designed to look like mountains and glaciers of Iceland. We went inside (free) and then went to the top of the tower (8€ per person) to look at the views of the city!
- We then walked around the city, through the beautiful streets and looked in the local shops, and of course the souvenir shops to get something special to remember Iceland.
- After that we had some of Iceland´s famous hotdogs for lunch and ate them in a beautiful square where there was a medieval fair.
- We then walked around Tjornin Lake, listening to the music coming from various parts of the city.
- Then we decided to visit the harbour where there are various things to see and do, we went to Kolaportid Flea Market, the Harpa Concert Hall and Grandi, an area of modern cafés and restaurants.
- After that we went to the famous shopping street, Laugavegur and then to Pingholten, and beautiful neighbourhood with colourful houses, street art and lovely squares.
- We then went for a well deserved drink in an Irish Pub (very expensive) and relaxed before heading back out to see the different music events in the city. We ended up sitting on the grass to watch the biggest concert of the day which had various famous Icelandic bands and singers.
- To end our amazing day, we had dinner at a Thai restaurant and then had a drink in a nice bar, where they had live music.
- We drove back to the same campsite we had stayed at the night before and went straight to bed, as to get up early the next day for our last day in Iceland and our visit to the Blue Lagoon!

Do Icelandic Girls Prefer Guys With Big Muscles or a Pretty Face? (Reykjavík, Ísland)

▾▾▾▾▾▾▾▾▾▾▾▾▾▾▾▾▾▾▾▾▾▾▾▾▾▾▾▾▾▾▾▾▾▾
Yo brothers, I am currently exploring the beautiful country Iceland and decided to film this street interview. I ask Icelandic women what would they prefer if they had to pick one, a guy with big muscles or a guy with a pretty face?
I hope you don't take this too seriously though because at the end of the day looks (face / muscles) DON'T matter. I've coached so many guys over my years and every student has been either good in the looks department or bad but once I was finished with them, they were literally attracting 10's left, right and center.
Anyway, I do hope you enjoy this video and if you did, be sure to share it with your friends.

13 Hidden Secrets & Best Places in Reykjavik - Travel Guide Iceland
Ultimate 13 hidden secrets, things to do and best places to visit in Reykjavik. My travel guide is loaded with tips for Iceland which I carefully selected. You won't believe number #7 -- Can we make it to 1,000 LIKES? ---
Complete list:
Trust me, Iceland has a lot more to offer besides natural beauty and breathtaking scenery.
The best time to visit Iceland is either in early February to see the Northern Lights or mid-summer for the Icelandic music festivals.
1. Start off at Cafe Loki and try their incredible Icelandic lamp soup, herring sandwich and rye bread ice cream.
2. Hallgrimskirkja, the famous church in Reykjavik, known for its unique architecture and mesmerizing view of the city.
3. Harpa, the unique concert and event venue, known for its futuristic design and enjoys the best acoustics in the world.
4. Kolaportid Flea Market, get yourself a warm Icelandic sweater or other odd Icelandic products.
5. Hakarl, rotten shark which you can purchase at the Flea Market. The most horrid food in the world, the shark is buried in the soil for months and rot in its own juices in order to acquire this strange local delicacy.
6. Seabaron, hidden secret in the Reykjavik harbor where you can try the controversial Whale Steak and world's best lobster soup.
7. Svio, aka Icelandic Sheep's Head. An odd dish that can be ordered at certain local restaurants or at the BSI drive-thru. Creep out your friends by going all out by trying the tongue, nose and eye.
8. Northern Lights, its hit or miss with this event, best time to go is early February.
9. Blue Lagoon, nowadays not a hidden secret anymore, but a spot that cannot be missed. This incredible place is one of the wonders of the world and is world's biggest geothermal spa.
10. Pylsur Hot Dog at Baejarins Beztu Pylsur, the most famous in Reykjavik, you can expect long lines.
BONUS: Vegamot Restaurant, one of the better restaurants in Reykjavik.
11. Reykjavik Nightlife, visit Austur, the best nightclub in town. Make sure to contact my friends at rvkbynight.is and they may be able to hook you up with an exclusive party or message them directly @reykjavikbynight
12. Herring Era Museum, a 4 hour drive north of Reykjavik where you can try the true authentic Icelandic herring.
13. Icelandic Phallological Museum, perhaps the most bizarre museum in Iceland.

24 Hours in Reykjavik - What to See and Do on a Layover in Iceland | 90+ Countries with 3 Kids
Welcome to Reykjavík Iceland!
With a 24-hour daylight in summer and more than 40 festivals, Reykjavik is the new city that never sleeps. The world's most northerly capital has a population of only 120,000, but what it lacks in people it makes up for in culture. Reykjavik is located on a peninsula shaped like a dragon's head and is tucked into a sheltered bay in south-west Iceland filled with dramatic views of the adjacent mountains across the water to the north.
Reykjavík's name is derived from the Icelandic words for smoke, reykur, and bay, vík. Legend says that in the year 874, Norseman Ingólfur Arnarson, who was in fact its first inhabitant, saw Iceland rising out of the misty sea and came ashore at a bay steamed by hot springs in the vicinity of present day Reykjavík. Today most of the houses in Reykjavík are heated by near-boiling water from the hot springs and because of this natural heating there is no air pollution. You may notice, however, that the hot water brings a slight sulfur smell to the bathroom. Ingólfur is honored with a statue on a small hill called Arnarhóll in the middle of Reykjavík.
The best way to explore Reykjavik in its full light is to experience Iceland's pure thermal energy and take a dip in one of Reykjavík's many thermal pools and spas! It’s a great source of natural therapy and an important part of Icelandic culture and a tonic for the body and mind!
