Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the #travel bug! We started “travel hacking” & finally decided we wanted to travel for one year. After 2 years of saving $ and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016. We started this #travelvlog to share our experiences with friends and family, then decided we really liked vlogging and traveling! So we extended our 1 year trip to now FOUR years :) Now we have a goal of traveling to 100 countries before 2020! We are incredibly thankful to do something we love every day. :)
Washington DC Tourist Guided On Board Bus Tour
If you would like more facts about Washington DC, check out this $1 book: For photos of sites to see in Washington DC, check out our blog: We got to see Washington DC in a day on a guided bus tour through On Board buses. It included a guided boat ride on the Ptomac river. It was a six hour tour where we could get on and off the bus to take video and pictures. See a quick tour of the 6 hour bus ride in this 14 minute video. You can see sights such as the United States Capital, Lincoln Memorial, Washington Memorial, Vietnam War Memorial, Korean War Memorial, Arlington National Cemetery, Ford's Theatre (where Lincoln was shot), the Ptomac River, the White House, some popular monuments and lots more. I really enjoyed just driving down the streets and being able to enjoy all of the historic buildings like the Smithsonian, Indian Museum, Cathedrals, statues, and city streets while enjoying our guide named Al tell us about the history of the city. It was well worth it and a hi-light of our trip to Washington DC!

From Wikipedia:
The Port Authority Bus Terminal (colloquially known as the Port Authority and by its acronym PABT) is a bus terminal serving interstate buses traveling into Manhattan, New York City. The terminal is the largest in the Western Hemisphere and the busiest in the world by volume of traffic, serving about 8,000 buses and 225,000 people on an average weekday and more than 65 million people a year.
The terminal is located in Midtown at 625 Eighth Avenue between 40th Street and 42nd Street, one block east of the Lincoln Tunnel and one block west of Times Square. It is owned and operated by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey (PANYNJ). It is one of three bus terminals operated by the PANYNJ, the others being the George Washington Bridge Bus Station in Upper Manhattan and the Journal Square Transportation Center in Jersey City.
The PABT serves as a terminus and departure point for commuter routes as well as for long-distance intercity bus service and is a major transit hub for New Jerseyans. It has 223 departure gates and 1,250 car parking spaces, as well as commercial and retail space. In 2011, there were more than 2.263 million bus departures from the terminal.
Times Square is a major commercial intersection, tourist destination, entertainment center, and neighborhood in the Midtown Manhattan section of New York City, at the junction of Broadway and Seventh Avenue. It stretches from West 42nd to West 47th Streets. Brightly lit by numerous billboards and advertisements, Times Square is sometimes referred to as The Crossroads of the World, The Center of the Universe, The heart of The Great White Way, and the heart of the world. One of the world's busiest pedestrian areas, it is also the hub of the Broadway Theater District and a major center of the world's entertainment industry. Times Square is one of the world's most visited tourist attractions, drawing an estimated 50 million visitors annually. Approximately 330,000 people pass through Times Square daily, many of them tourists, while over 460,000 pedestrians walk through Times Square on its busiest days.
Formerly known as Longacre Square, Times Square was renamed in 1904 after The New York Times moved its headquarters to the then newly erected Times Building, now One Times Square. It is the site of the annual New Year's Eve ball drop, began on December 31, 1907, which continues to attract over a million visitors to Times Square every year.
Times Square functions as a town square, but is not geometrically a square; it is closer in shape to a bowtie, with two triangles emanating roughly north and south from 45th Street, where Seventh Avenue intersects Broadway. Broadway runs diagonally, crossing through the horizontal and vertical street grid of Manhattan laid down by the Commissioners' Plan of 1811, and that intersection creates the bowtie shape of Times Square.
The southern triangle of Times Square has no specific name, but the northern triangle is called Father Duffy Square. It was dedicated in 1937 to Chaplain Francis P. Duffy of New York City's U.S. 69th Infantry Regiment and is the site of a memorial to him, along with a statue of George M. Cohan, and the TKTS ticket booth.

Video of Obama 'Beast' Cadillac limo stuck on ramp in Ireland
US President Barack Obama's visit to Ireland got a little bumpy on Monday, after his armoured limousine got stuck as it tried to leave the US embassy in Dublin. A large crowd had turned out in Ballsbridge to wave farewell to Obama as he made his way from the Irish capital to his ancestral home in County Offaly. But their cheers turned to gasps when the underbelly of the president's black Cadillac - nicknamed The Beast - caught the slope of the embassy driveway - hitting it with a loud bang. With the limo unable to move either forward or backward, Obama and his wife Michelle remained in the vehicle while a Secret Service agent directed a grey coach to park in front of it - obscuring the view of the media and the crowd, and prompting a few boos. Obama and his wife then continued their journey in a second armoured limousine, while the rest of the motorcade left the embassy via a different exit.
