Wells Grey Provincial Park Waterfalls in Canada
We only had a day up our sleeves in this area, so we did Spahats Falls in the late afternoon shortly after we arrived at our accommodation, then in the morning visited Helmcken and Dawson Falls before heading to Jasper.
Wildcat Waterfalls: Hiking in the Dawson Forest WMA
Mark Oleg led me to four great waterfalls, and a couple smaller falls, in the Wildcat Tract of the Dawson Forest WMA. In addition to the waterfalls and cascades, the trail abounds with old growth Hemlock and offers a surprisingly remote atmosphere.
**Note: I completely made up names for these waterfalls because there are too many fall creeks. These names are by no means official and probably not used by anyone else.

Heading up Beaver Creek, YT, Canada, toward Alaska
This is our pack string starting out, headed south on Beaver Creek, in Yukon Territory, Canada, toward our hunt camp nearly 19 miles away in Alaska, USA. There is no trail. We just follow the riverbed until we get there. which means around 30 river crossings en route. We crossed the US/Canada border about two miles before we reached the hunt camp. With our string of Missouri Fox Trotters and Tennessee Walking Horses, the trip in took us 4 hours and 20 minutes. Derek made this same trip several years ago with a string of Quarter Horses and it took him over 8 hours. That was why Derek changed to gaited horses. Our trip back out, with lighter packs, this year took 3 hours 40 minutes. Tough, fast riding.

RVing North to Alaska: Dawson Creek British Columbia at the Start of the Alaska Highway (the Alcan)
Day 5 of our journey North to Alaska we find ourselves in Dawson Creek, British Columbia after staying the night in Jasper National Park. We park at the Mile 0 Campground and book 2 nights to explore the area.
While in Dawson Creek we drive a little ways out of town to see the Historic Kishatinaw Curved Bridge, the only original wooden bridge from the original Alaska Highway still in use today, built 75 years ago. After touring the Kiskatinaw Provincial Campground next to the bridge we then head up to the Bear Mountain Wind Park, the first of its kind in British Columbia, to check our the wind turbines and the vistas off to the west and the Northern Canadian Rocky Mountains.
Finally we end the video with some still shots of the Northern Lights Stacey caught in her lens at 2am in the morning when she got up to use the restroom. This was our last chance to see the aurora borealis as its getting too light at night to see them again until Fall. What a treat for only our 5th day. (Season 2 Episode 8)

Into the Winds: A Hundred-Mile Traverse of Wyoming's Wind River Range
Starting near Lander and ending near Dubois, this 100-mile traverse of the Wind River Range of Wyoming from August 18 to 29, 2016, was a return to the mountains where I attended a semester course with the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS) in 1982.

Being mid-spring, the waterfalls where in full flow from the snow melt in the higher elevations.
The 3 Falls we viewed are:
Spahats Creek Falss--246 ft drop
Dawson Falls--66 ft drop across the Murtle River
Helmcken Falls--563 ft drop
All 3 are within a short walk from the parking area to the viewing areas.
Music: 50 most famous pieces of classical music.

Northern Canada Road Trip Vlog 6 (Northern British Columbia & The Yukon)
Watch the video to see what challenges I faced to be better prepared then I was, when going up North ;) In the beginning of July 2018 I left Vancouver Island by ferry to the Far North unexpectedly because there was a sudden opening on the waiting list. While I slowly discovered the remote North, the endless lakes and its beauty, I kept on changing my plans. Watch to see where it took me and let me know in the comments, if you have any questions.

RV Alaska Series #10 | Dempster Highway Conclusion & Discovering Dawson City
Class A Motorhome RV Living: Season 3 EP051 July 13-14, 2018 Get more of our stuff at
In this episode, we finish up the grueling Dempster Highway and discover the fun, unique and historic Dawson City, Yukon.
The Dempster Highway was quite an accomplishment. It is not a road for everyone, but definitely a road for the adventurous. We are certainly glad we made the trip.
We didn't know much about Dawson City, but after just one day, we both found it to be a very cool little town with something for everyone.
If you were looking for some history of the Klondike Gold Rush, Dawson City had you covered.
Maybe you wanted to relax and do some fishing along the Klondike or Yukon Rivers, Dawson City had you covered.
Maybe, you were tired of all the relaxing and wanted to kick up your heels, have a drink or two, do some gambling or take in a can can show...Dawson City had you covered for that, as well!
We hope you enjoy our final episode on the Yukon! Safe travels...Paul and Lorena
