LA PAZ - BOLIVIA TRAVEL
Now I am on the way to reach one of the biggest dreams in my life. To see Machupicchu.
From Cochabamba another long bus journey to La Paz with an espectacular nature view on the way. Full of mountains and forests.
I stayed 4 nights in La Paz and I felt I needed more than that. It is a city full of life and places to see. Surrounded by the Andes mountain range.
Back on the road before crossing the border to Peru I spent the day in Copacabana by the Lake Titicaca.
In Bolivia I had paid an average of $8 per day for a bed in a Hostel and around $3.50 for a meal. Most accommodations include breakfast.
⛰????????⛰????????⛰????????⛰????????⛰????????⛰????
La Paz, in Bolivia, is the highest administrative capital in the world, resting on the Andes’ Altiplano plateau at more than 3,500m above sea level. It stretches to El Alto city in the highlands, with snow-capped, 6,438m-high Mt. Illimani as its backdrop. The city's dramatic setting can be taken in during rides on Mi Teleférico, the aerial cable car system.
City elevation: 3,640 meters
Lake Titicaca, straddling the border between Peru and Bolivia in the Andes Mountains, is one of South America's largest lakes and the world’s highest navigable body of water. Said to be the birthplace of the Incas, it’s home to numerous ruins. Its waters are famously still and brightly reflective. Around it is Titicaca National Reserve, sheltering rare aquatic wildlife such as giant frogs.
Surface elevation: 3,812 m
Area: 8,372 km²
Copacabana is a Bolivian town on Lake Titicaca, known for religious festivals and red-roofed houses. It's a base for exploring Isla del Sol and Isla de la Luna, islands with sacred Incan archaeological sites. Near Copacabana's main square, Plaza 2 de Febrero, is the Catedral de la Virgen de la Candelaria, a major pilgrimage site with Moorish domes and the Virgen de la Candelaria sculpture.
Elevation: 3,841 m

We had a long layover in La Paz, Bolivia on our way from Argentina to Colombia. We stayed one night at Hotel Rosario, and walked around this wonderful city. Love seeing the markets and the cholitas aka the indigenous women in Bolivia. They are so beautiful!

We have 1 full day to see the sights of La Paz today!
First we joined a walking tour ( It was 20 bolivianos each and we visited the San Pedro prison, local food market, witches market, San Francisco Church, the government buildings before ending up at a cafe with a free shot of Singani!
Afterwards we walked to the Sopacachi Mi Telerifco station (cable car) from the centre. It took about 30 minutes then we took the yellow line up to El Alto for the best view of the city! Even better, it's only 3 bolivianos each way!
