Montréal is the largest city in Canada's Québec province. It’s set on an island in the Saint Lawrence River and named after Mt. Royal, the triple-peaked hill at its heart. Its boroughs, many of which were once independent cities, include neighbourhoods ranging from cobblestoned, French colonial Vieux-Montréal – with the Gothic Revival Notre-Dame Basilica at its centre – to bohemian Plateau.

2018 Immigrant Heritage Walking Tour Chinatown ENG
Guided walk with Don Kwan throughout Chinatown to learn about the contribution of immigrant communities to the neighbourhood, along with its history, people and vibrant culture. They learn about the multicultural village this neighbourhood has become, not only including Asian cultures, but also influences from French Canada, the Middle East, Latin America and more.
OLIP, Ottawa, City of Ottawa and Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada have joined together to host a series of Immigrant Heritage Walking Tours during Welcoming Ottawa Week (June 18 to 30, 2018). These tours are designed to showcase the important contributions of immigrants to the social, cultural, and economic development and vitality of these neighbourhoods. Participants will have the opportunity to discover the treasure trove of history, food, art, architecture, places of worship, and the myriad of businesses that have flourished there thanks to the efforts of successive generations of immigrants and of their descendants.

In this video I want to share with you the highlights of my trip to Ottawa, Ontario. Ottawa is the capital city of Canada and a beautiful place to visit, especially if you can check it out during the warmer summer months.
There are a ton of different things to do in Ottawa and plenty of ways to occupy your time.
You can explore the local Byward Market for a bite to eat, admire incredible art at the national Gallery of Canada, or head down to the water and cycle on the Rideau Canal for a more natural experience in the Heart of the City.
During my visits I spent three days in Ottawa and despite the heat I had a great time exploring. Public transportation is easily accessible and there's a widespread bike-sharing system that you can use to get anywhere you want.
Ottawa is a wonderful place to visit if you ever get the chance. It's truly one of Ontario's hidden gems as it's so often overlooked by many of Canada's other cities.
The popular landmarks in this video include:
- The Rideau Canal
- Parliament Hill
- Chateau Laurier
- Rideau Hall
- The Byward Market
..and a lot more of the beautiful city of Ottawa!
Shot using a Canon S120 in July 2015.
