Walking in STOCKHOLM / Sweden ????????- 4K 60fps (UHD)
Stockholm is the capital of Sweden and the largest city of the country. There are 14 islands and more than 50 bridges connecting several parts of this archipelago.
We start our walk on the central Sergels square and one of the central points in Stockholm. From there we stroll along the Drottninggatan towards the Gamla stan island.
There in the Gamla stan old town we enjoy the atmosphere, that fall brings to Stockholm. We visit the Stockholm Cathedral and after a few more streets in the old town we head back to the commercial area - Norrmalm.
Passing the Almarna park we walk all around. It is quickly getting darker so we head to the train station and end the walk at the Stadshuset, the Stockholm City hall.

Stockholm Walks: Drottninggatan - Karlbergs Palace (4 km for treadmill or exploring, natural sound)
A virtual walk that takes you on a tour of a lovely part of Stockholm, often missed by first time visitors. It starts out right in the center though, on Drottninggatan that seems to be the street all tourists see. What always amazed me is that on the nicest part of that street, and the spectacular view from the park on the hill at the very end, I rarly see tourists. THis walk takes you there and beyond: past the famous Jugend -style City Library, through the streets of Vasastan where the city is slowly waking up, and on to a castle built in the 1600´s.

Gamla stan (The Old Town), until 1980 officially Staden mellan broarna (The Town between the Bridges), is the old town of Stockholm, Sweden. Gamla stan consists primarily of the island Stadsholmen. The surrounding islets Riddarholmen, Helgeandsholmen, and Strömsborg are officially part of, but not colloquially included in, Gamla stan. The word stan is simply a contraction of the word staden (sta'n), meaning the town.The town dates back to the 13th century, and consists of medieval alleyways, cobbled streets, and archaic architecture. North German architecture has had a strong influence in the Old Town's construction.
Gamla stan est la « vieille ville » (traduction littérale du suédois) de Stockholm en Suède. Elle est répartie sur trois îles de Stadsholmen, Riddarholmen et Helgeandsholmen, situées à l'extrémité est de la baie de Riddarfjärden. Ces îles sont reliées entre elles par de nombreux ponts, ce qui permet à Gamla stan d'être également surnommée « la ville entre les ponts »Elle a été fondée au xiiie siècle et est de nos jours formée de rues pavées et de ruelles de style médiéval. Les premiers habitants de la ville étaient d'ascendance allemande, et l'architecture de Gamla stan s'en ressent.

Except for the cost. The city is clean, well signed, and lots of great museums and parks. The metro system is easy to navigate, especially if you use the app. We got the 7 day transport card which simplified everything as well.

The cobblestone streets and ochre-colored buildings of Gamla Stan (the old town) are home to the 13th-century Storkyrkan Cathedral, the Kungliga Slottet Royal Palace and the Nobel Museum, which focuses on the Nobel Prize. Ferries and sightseeing boats shuttle passengers between the islands
Djurgården or, more officially, Kungliga Djurgården (Swedish: The (Royal) Game Park) is an island in central Stockholm, Sweden. Djurgården is home to historical buildings and monuments, museums, galleries, the amusement park Gröna Lund, the open-air museum Skansen, the small residential area Djurgårdsstaden, yacht harbours, and extensive stretches of forest and meadows. It is one of the Stockholmers' favorite recreation areas and tourist destinations alike, attracting over 10 million visitors per year, of which some 5 million come to visit the museums and amusement park. The island belongs to the National City park founded in 1995. Since the 15th century the Swedish monarch has owned or held the right of disposition of Royal Djurgården. Today, this right is exercised by the Royal Djurgården Administration which is a part of the Royal Court of Sweden.
A larger area of the city, separated from Djurgården proper by Djurgårdsbrunnsviken is Norra Djurgården (Northern Djurgården), including Gärdet.

A grey October Thursday morning, Stockholmers are hurrying to work and school. This walk takes you through a good portion of Old Town, passed the Royal Palace into Kungsträdgåden, continuing busy Hamngatan to Sergelstorg at the very heart of Stockholm.

Just outside the city and along the coast is the island chain of the Stockholm archipelago. Stockholm is the cultural, media, political, and economic centre of Sweden. The Stockholm region alone accounts for over a third of the country's GDP. Stockholm is the seat of the Swedish government and most of its agencies.

This is a walking tour of Stockholm in Sweden when I visited in November 2019. The tour passes through a trendy area of Stockholm with its traditional cobbled streets and busy with locals doing there Christmas shopping. There is also many restaurants and bars along the route.

Friday night. It´s an hour after midnight. Götgatan and Folkungagatan are still rather crowded, other streets are darker. The weather is somewhere between rain and fog. It´s rather warm for December. Come along for a night time walk on Södermalm, Stockholm. For treadmill, relaxing, exploring or whatever you like.

Hamngatan, Norrmalmstorg to Biblioteksgatan visiting the old Jugend style Cinema Theater Röda Kvarn from 1915 which is nowadays reused as restaurants and bars. Strandvägen to Djurgården and the ferry to Gamla Stan and the demolition project of Slussen. Götgatan to Södra Station.
