Lichfield is a cathedral city and civil parish in Staffordshire, England. One of eight civil parishes with city status in England, Lichfield is situated roughly 16 mi north of Birmingham. Today, the city still retains its old importance as an ecclesiastical centre, and its industrial and commercial development has been limited. The centre of the city has over 230 listed buildings (including many examples of Georgian architecture), and preserves much of its historic character.
Notable for its three-spired medieval cathedral, Lichfield was the birthplace of Samuel Johnson, the writer of the first authoritative Dictionary of the English Language. The city's recorded history began when Chad of Mercia arrived to establish his Bishopric in 669 AD and the settlement grew as the ecclesiastical centre of Mercia. In 2009, the Staffordshire Hoard, the largest hoard of Anglo-Saxon gold and silver metalwork, was found 5.9 km (3.7 mi) south-west of Lichfield.
The development of the city was consolidated in the 12th century under Roger de Clinton, who fortified the Cathedral Close and also laid out the town with the ladder-shaped street pattern that survives to this day. Lichfield's heyday was in the 18th century, when it developed into a thriving coaching city. This was a period of great intellectual activity, the city being the home of many famous people including Samuel Johnson, David Garrick, Erasmus Darwin and Anna Seward, and prompted Johnson's remark that Lichfield was a city of philosophers.
Lichfield covers an area of approximately 5.41 sq mi (14.0 km2) in the south-east of the county of Staffordshire in the West Midlands region of England. It is approximately 25 km (16 mi) north of Birmingham and 200 km (120 mi) north-west of London.

Saint Michael On GreenHill Lichfield UK
Saint Michael on the Greehhill is a parish church in Lichfield, Staffordshire England. A Church has been on the current sight since 1190 AD, and is one of 5 identified ancient burial grounds in England. The hill upon which the church sits is probably the oldest settlement in Lichfield. Folklore suggest that Augustine consecrated the site, and it was the cause of Saint Chad's coming to Lichfield. Curiosities of Staffordshire- Wall
Welcome back after a long absence! Today we are in Wall, a small village that was once the thriving Roman town of Letocetum along Watling Street complete with a bath house and mansion. The site is open to the public between 9am and 5pm with shorter opening hours during the winter and is an English Heritage site. St John's church in Wall was partly designed by Giles Gilbert Scott before he was famous. He went on to design Liverpool Cathedral and the famous red telephone box. Apologies for the abrupt end to the video- this was a somewhat spur of the moment venture as I was driving nearby and the battery on my camera was dying!
Ribchester - Roman road from York
3d Lidar fly over along the line for the Roman road from York into Ribchester.

8. The Women of Stonehenge
Stonehenge is one of the world’s most iconic and mysterious Neolithic monuments. The henge, or stone circle, was a cemetery for high-ranking individuals as well as a sort of calendar, since its stones align with the sunset on the winter solstice and sunrise on the summer solstice. It was built between 4000 and 5000 years ago, and most of its secrets have yet to be revealed.
7. Lincolnshire Black Death Pit
In the 14th century, the Black Death, also known as bubonic plague, killed 75 million to 200 million people all across Europe and Asia. Britain was not immune to the plague, and some experts estimate that fifty percent of the population of what is now the United Kingdom died during the outbreak.
6. Boxford Roman mosaic
Britain was once a province of the Roman Empire, and there are Roman-era archaeological sites all across the country. Usually the sites are stone walls and hidden pits, but in 2017, archaeologists working near the little town of Boxford found something extraordinary.
5. Staffordshire Hoard
In 2009, a man with a metal detector was searching a field outside Hammerwich, Staffordshire, when he got the surprise of his life. When his metal detector went off to tell him he’d found something, he was expecting a coin or maybe someone’s lost pocket watch. What he found instead was the largest hoard of Anglo-Saxon treasure ever found in the United Kingdom!
4. Lindow Man
In 1984, commercial peat cutters at Lindow Marsh near Wilmslow in Cheshire, England, came across a gruesome discovery. One of the workers pulled what he thought was a piece of wood off of the machine he was using to cut peat, but when he tossed it aside, he realized that it was a human foot! The condition of the foot made them think this was a modern murder victim, so the authorities were called.
3. Hoxne Hoard
In 1992, another man with a metal detector found what’s come to be known as the Hoxne Hoard!! This is the largest hoard of late Roman gold and silver ever found in Britain. I’ve been telling you guys, we have to all go to the UK with a metal detector!!
The hoard dates to 407 AD, which is right about the time that Rome was withdrawing from Britain
2. Richard III
Richard III was the last of the Plantagenet kings of England, and he is best known from his villainous portrayal in Shakespeare’s play about his life. He was known to have died in the Battle of Bosworth, the last English monarch to die in combat. He was buried in a simple grave at Greyfriars Friary in Leicester, but the location of his grave was lost after the monasteries were dissolved under Henry VIII.
1. Heatwave Revelations
The summer of 2018 was one of the hottest and driest that the United Kingdom has ever seen. The landscape suffered under the heat as crops shriveled and grasses wilted. There was a silver lining to this heat cloud, though – the elimination of a top layer of vegetation helped reveal over a thousand years’ worth of lost archaeological sites.

[Full Documentary 2014] Staffordshire Ghosts - Paranormal Haunting Documentary (NEW+) [Full Documentary 2014] Staffordshire Ghosts - Paranormal
King Arthur II & Prince Madoc's voyage to America in AD 562
Alan Wilson & James Michael present this lecture in a College of Kentucky - one of several that Alan lectured at in his lecture tour of 1992. James Michael sadly passed away in January 2008. Were it not for his dedicated work little of this Arthur research would be known in the USA today.
This full documentary contains not just a presentation lecture but also extra footage which has never been broadcast until now. You will be shown some of the vast amounts of evidence concerning the voyage of Arthur 2 and Prince Madoc sailing from Britain to America during the 6th century - almost a thousand years before Columbus.
Also covered later in the documentary is James Michael explaining the ancient British Coelbren alphabet, and its connection to many inscriptions found in the America.
The establishment crooks have written off this Coelbren alphabet as the creation of a Welsh-British Antiquarian called Iolo Morganwg during the19th century, yet the authors easily show in their books how this accusation is completely false and they give many examples of its use and notice CENTURIES prior to the time of the alleged forgery.
The documentary is not always good quality in parts as it was only converted in 2008 using old VHS tapes originally recorded in 1992. Despite this it is a brilliant and informative documentary of how history -- like most things -- has been manipulated and forgotten.
Alan Wilson is now 80 years old and still going strong. He and his life-long fellow researcher Baram Blackett have written and published nine books. They also have available several documentaries (old and new) documenting their researches and what happens when you discover things the establishment doesn't want discovered.
Their books published to date (oldest first) are as follows:
1 - Arthur, King of Glamorgan and Gwent.
2 - Arthur and the Charter of Kings.
3 - Arthur the War King
4 - Artorius Rex Discovered
5 - The Holy Kingdom
6 - The King Arthur Conspiracy
7 - Moses in the Hieroglyphs
8 - The Discovery of the Ark of the Covenant
9 - The Trojan War of 650 BC
