NTParanormal: After Dark (Wallace Residence)
In this episode we investigate claims about a residence in which everyone has had some kind of experience. Many of the people who live there have heard strange voices and seen what can only be described as large orbs moving around the rooms. Valerie, the resident who contacted us, has conducted several of her own EVP/EMF sessions with varied results. We were called on site to investigate, analyze, and substantiate the evidence that she had already collected. While we were able to find reasonable explanations for many of the claims about the house, there was still a good amount of activity that we could not find an immediate answer for or that was not captured by our equipment.
In addition to this video the resident has additional footage, first hand accounts, and investigative videos posted to her own youtube page and has invited everyone to see. For more footage, alternate angles, and the full uncut EVP sessions; please visit Valerie's youtube page at the following link:
There is a good video posted of the final EVP session in which you can hear a very decent EVP that was not captured by our equipment at the time. Check it out for yourself here:
NTParanormal Investigations
NTPI is a group of paranormal researchers based out of Fort Worth, Texas. It is our goal to study paranormal activity through the use of the scientific method, experiments, and documentation to prove or disprove the existence of unexplained supernatural phenomenon in any locations that we are called to investigate. North Texas Paranormal investigates both residential and public locations on a regular basis and is available on weekends for field research upon request. We are always happy to help people who are looking for answers about suspected activity in their homes or businesses with the intent to prove or disprove (debunk) the suspected activity in question. Though we are located in the North Texas region, we have group members all over the country and conduct investigations anywhere the opportunity presents itself.

Victor Burgin & Ian Wallace in Conversation at the Vancouver Art Gallery
On February 19, 2013, UK-born artist and critic Victor Burgin and Vancouver artist Ian Wallace held a joint lecture and discussion at the Vancouver Art Gallery. The event was part of Reading Ian Wallace: An International Perspective—a series of talks held in conjunction with the career survey of Wallace concurrently showing at the gallery.
Wallace is best known as a founding member of what has come to be recognized as the Vancouver school of photoconceptualism. Through his teaching at the University of British Columbia and other institutions, Wallace was a teacher and mentor to such younger artists as Douglas, as well as Jeff Wall, Ken Lum and Rodney Graham. His work set precedents by blowing up photographs to scales typically associated with history painting, and by uniting these images—documents from the news or the everyday—with minimalist, monochrome painting. His art is in the collection of the National Gallery of Canada and the Vancouver Gallery, among others, and he is the recipient of a Governor General's Award in Visual and Media Arts.
Victor Burgin is professor emeritus of fine art at Goldsmiths College and professor emeritus of history of consciousness at the University of California, Santa Cruz. He is a leading teaching artist of our time whose cross-disciplinary work bridges media, culture and art. Burgin came to prominence as an originator of conceptual art in the late 1960s and is also renowned for his reflections on the intersections and tensions between photography and painting. Another area of research and creation has examined the way that viewers create meaning in art. He is the author of Situational Aesthetics and The End of Art Theory, among other works, and his pieces are in the collection of MoMA and the Met, among other institutions.
This event unfolded as follows: a brief talk by Burgin, a brief talk by Wallace, and then a moderated discussion. The moderator was art historian and critic William Wood, who is currently based in Lethbridge.
Other talks in this series included a lecture by Wallace himself on January 15, a conversation between Wallace and American scholar Christine Poggi on January 29, and a conversation between Wallace and Vancouver artist Stan Douglas on February 5.
Reading Ian Wallace: An International Perspective was a partnership between the Vancouver Art Gallery and the Canadian Art Foundation International Speaker Series. The series is sponsored by BMO Financial Group. To enjoy more talks recorded at Canadian Art Foundation programs, please visit canadianart.ca/learn/talks/.

Tecumseh Commemorative Song - by Len Wallace
This year (2012) marks the bicentennial anniversary of the War of 1812. Canada post issued a stamp commemorating Tecumseh, the Native American warrior and leader who's wise words and insights are still so relevant today.
Len Wallace is seen here, performing a song he wrote in honour of Tecumseh, at the Legion in the town of Tecumseh, Ontario. His performance precedes a presentation by author James Laxer who wrote a book titled Tecumseh and Brock commemorating the partnership of the British General and Tecumseh, a leader of a Native American Confederacy in 1812.

Ian Wallace and Christine Poggi in Conversation at the Vancouver Art Gallery
On January 29, 2013, Canadian artist Ian Wallace and American critic and scholar Christine Poggi held a joint lecture and discussion at the Vancouver Art Gallery as part of Reading Ian Wallace: An International Perspective—a series of talks held in conjunction with the career survey of Wallace concurrently showing at the gallery.
Wallace is best known as a founding member of what has come to be recognized as the Vancouver school of photoconceptualism. Through his teaching at the University of British Columbia and other institutions, Wallace was a teacher and mentor to such younger artists as Jeff Wall, Ken Lum, Stan Douglas and Rodney Graham. His work set precedents by blowing up photographs to scales typically associated with history painting, and by uniting these images—documents from the news or the everyday—with minimalist, monochrome painting.
Christine Poggi's research has focused on early 20th-century European avant-gardes, the invention of collage and constructed sculpture, and the relationship of art to emerging forms of labour and technology. She is also interested in contemporary art; in the relation of art, newspaper, and other forms of mass media; and in the ways works of art address singular or collective beholders.
Collage has been a recurring strategy in Ian Wallace's work, and the recent proliferation of collage-based activity suggests its significance in contemporary art production. In this talk, Poggi addressed collage in the wider context of art history and related it to Wallace's practice.
Other talks in this series included a lecture by Wallace himself, a conversation between Wallace and Vancouver artist Stan Douglas, and a conversation between Wallace and UK artist and critic Victor Burgin.

We Are Miner's (Losing Our Lives) Music Tribute to Wallace, Idaho in the Silver Valley
Just my personal tribute to my mining friends and town folks here in Wallace Idaho and the Silver Valley. had the day off and had some old historical mining footage I wanted to mess with. I think this is an old Hank Williams Song re-done by the Cowboy Junkies on The Trinity album. This is NOT a very good quality video, as most of this is old mining film footage from the 1920's - 1950's with some of my video and historical photographs put in as well. So many men and women worked so hard to bring the metals out of the ground yet many lost their health and life for their trouble. Also, so many big important towns grew up to support those men and women, but now, with the passge of time and all the Government stupidity, these towns have become weak and frail with poor health and most have simply died.
It is what it is, I like the songand I was bored. This video is just my tribute to so many hard working men and women, and to the towns that the lived in.No matter your position on mining we can all agree that our world and its technolgy would not exist without their hard and honest work. Thank you miners!!!
Ian Wallace & Vanessa Joan Müller – Antarctica. An Exhibition on Alienation
Artist Ian Wallace and curator Vanessa Joan Müller talk about the concept of alienation and his selection of works for the exhibition.
Antarctica at Kunsthalle Wien looks at the pattern underlying alienation. Showing numerous contemporary artworks; the exhibition explores how the term “alienation” functions in our world today. In doing so, it also addresses the following question: What other forms of relationship to the self and to the world do we need? Before we can even begin to create something like a space supportive of self-determination and self-realization?
