France 2004: Bastide De Domme (#11 of 23)
We were lucky enough to visit the tiny village of Domme on a national holiday, 1945 Victory Day (Also known as VE Day). This video begins with lunch at l'Esplanade followed by townspeople marching to the war monument. With recorded patriotic music by Edith Piaf, speeches, commemoration of war martyrs, and celebration of living heroes these are nice candid scenes of life in a small French community.

Memorials at Notre Dame de Lorette
The French Memorial to their soldiers killed in World War 1 is on a hill now referred to by the church built there: Notre Dame de Lorette. It is the site of a tall tower, The Necropilis, a Church and a Cemetery where the remains of 40,000 French soldiers are interred.
It is also the site for the 'Ring of Remembrance' to mark the Centenary of World War 1: a memorial to the 600,000 men of all nations killed in that region.

Places to see in ( Limoges - France ) Oradour sur Glane
On 10 June 1944, the village of Oradour-sur-Glane in Haute-Vienne in Nazi-occupied France was destroyed, when 642 of its inhabitants, including women and children, were massacred by a German Waffen-SS company. A new village was built nearby after the war, but French president Charles de Gaulle ordered the original maintained as a permanent memorial and museum.
In February 1944, the 2nd SS Panzer Division Das Reich was stationed in the Southern French town of Valence-d'Agen, north of Toulouse, waiting to be resupplied with new equipment and fresh troops. Following the D-Day invasion of Normandy in June 1944, the division was ordered north to help stop the Allied advance. One of its units was the 4th SS Panzer Grenadier Regiment (Der Führer). Its staff included regimental commander SS-Standartenführer Sylvester Stadler, SS-Sturmbannführer Adolf Diekmann commanding the 1st Battalion and SS-Sturmbannführer Otto Weidinger, Stadler's designated successor who was with the regiment for familiarisation. Command passed to Weidinger on 14 June.
Early on the morning of 10 June 1944, Diekmann informed Weidinger that he had been approached by two members of the Milice, a collaborator paramilitary force of the Vichy Regime. They claimed that a Waffen-SS officer was being held prisoner by the Resistance in Oradour-sur-Vayres, a nearby village. The captured officer was claimed to be SS-Sturmbannführer Helmut Kämpfe, commander of the 2nd SS Panzer Reconnaissance Battalion (also part of Das Reich division). He may have been captured by the Maquis du Limousin the day before. Stadler ordered Diekmann to have the mayor choose thirty people to be hostages in exchange for Kämpfe.
On 10 June, Diekmann's battalion sealed off Oradour-sur-Glane and ordered everyone within to assemble in the village square to have their identity papers examined. This included six non-residents who happened to be bicycling through the town when the SS unit arrived. The women and children were locked in the church, and the village was looted. The men were led to six barns and sheds, where machine guns were already in place.
According to a survivor's account, the SS men then began shooting, aiming for their legs. When victims were unable to move, the SS men covered them with fuel and set the barns on fire. Only six men managed to escape. One of them was later seen walking down a road and was shot dead. In all, 190 Frenchmen died.
The SS men next proceeded to the church and placed an incendiary device beside it. When it was ignited, women and children tried to escape through the doors and windows, only to be met with machine-gun fire. 247 women and 205 children died in the brutal attack. The only survivor was 47-year-old Marguerite Rouffanche. She escaped through a rear sacristy window, followed by a young woman and child.[3] All three were shot, two of them fatally. Rouffanche crawled to some pea bushes and remained hidden overnight until she was found and rescued the next morning. About twenty villagers had fled Oradour-sur-Glane as soon as the SS unit had appeared. That night, the village was partially razed.

SUMMARY
=======
Lebensborn e.V. (literally: Fount of Life) was an SS-initiated, state-supported, registered association in Nazi Germany with the goal of raising the birth rate of Aryan children of persons classified as racially pure and healthy based on Nazi racial hygiene and health ideology. Lebensborn provided welfare to its mostly unmarried mothers, encouraged anonymous births by unmarried women at their maternity homes, and mediated adoption of these children by likewise racially pure and healthy parents, particularly SS members and their families. The Cross of Honour of the German Mother was given to the women who bore the most Aryan children. Abortion was legalised by the Nazis for disabled children.
Initially set up in Germany in 1935, Lebensborn expanded into several occupied European countries with Germanic populations during the Second World War. It included the selection of racially worthy orphans for adoption and care for children born from Aryan women who had been in relationships with SS members. It originally excluded children born from unions between common soldiers and foreign women, because there was no proof of racial purity on both sides. During the war, many children were kidnapped from their parents and judged by aryan criteria for their suitability to be raised in Lebensborn homes, and fostering by German families.
At the Nuremberg Trials, much direct evidence was found of the kidnapping of children by Nazi Germany, across Greater Germany during the period 1939-45.

WHAT DO WE SEE HERE? | KINGSLEY PLANTATION | We Are The Davises
We went to the oldest standing plantation in Florida and toured around the 200 year old property where the slaves lived and saw the main plantation house as we learn about a famous piece of history. We also visited Fort Caroline where the Spanish fought the French and saw a replica of the fort.

Sword Brother's History, Seal Translation & Templar-Oak Island Connection
Canaanite-Phoenician Goddess Tanit’s appearance in the decoding corroborates the lead cross found on Oak Island that has been tentatively identified as a Tanit pendant. Discovered “Temple People” connection to the Sword Brothers predates the Holy Land crusades and the existence of the Knights Templar. Other astonishing translations associated to the Sword Brothers heats up an over 700-year old mystery. Amazingly, my next video will also decode Tanit’s name from a monument located 1,600 miles from the Baltic Sea. So stay tuned…

Education Is a System of Indoctrination of the Young - Noam Chomsky
Chomsky has been known to vigorously defend and debate his views and opinions, in philosophy, linguistics, and politics. More Chomsky:
He has had notable debates with Jean Piaget, Michel Foucault, William F. Buckley, Jr., Christopher Hitchens, George Lakoff, Richard Perle, Hilary Putnam, Willard Quine, and Alan Dershowitz, to name a few. In response to his speaking style being criticized as boring, Chomsky said that I'm a boring speaker and I like it that way.... I doubt that people are attracted to whatever the persona is.... People are interested in the issues, and they're interested in the issues because they are important. We don't want to be swayed by superficial eloquence, by emotion and so on.
In early 1969, he delivered the John Locke Lectures at Oxford University; in January 1970, the Bertrand Russell Memorial Lecture at University of Cambridge; in 1972, the Nehru Memorial Lecture in New Delhi; in 1977, the Huizinga Lecture in Leiden; in 1988 the Massey Lectures at the University of Toronto, titled Necessary Illusions: Thought Control in Democratic Societies; in 1997, The Davie Memorial Lecture on Academic Freedom in Cape Town, and many others.
He is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, the National Academy of Sciences, and the American Philosophical Society. In addition, he is a member of other professional and learned societies in the United States and abroad, and is a recipient of the Distinguished Scientific Contribution Award of the American Psychological Association, the Kyoto Prize in Basic Sciences, the Helmholtz Medal, the Dorothy Eldridge Peacemaker Award, the 1999 Benjamin Franklin Medal in Computer and Cognitive Science, and others. He is twice winner of The Orwell Award, granted by The National Council of Teachers of English for Distinguished Contributions to Honesty and Clarity in Public Language (in 1987 and 1989).
He is a member of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts in Department of Social Sciences.
In 2005, Chomsky received an honorary fellowship from the Literary and Historical Society. In 2007, Chomsky received The Uppsala University (Sweden) Honorary Doctor's degree in commemoration of Carolus Linnaeus. In February 2008, he received the President's Medal from the Literary and Debating Society of the National University of Ireland, Galway. Since 2009 he is an honorary member of IAPTI.
In 2010, Chomsky received the Erich Fromm Prize in Stuttgart, Germany. In April 2010, Chomsky became the third scholar to receive the University of Wisconsin's A.E. Havens Center's Award for Lifetime Contribution to Critical Scholarship.
Chomsky has an Erdős number of four.
Chomsky was voted the leading living public intellectual in The 2005 Global Intellectuals Poll conducted by the British magazine Prospect. He reacted, saying I don't pay a lot of attention to polls. In a list compiled by the magazine New Statesman in 2006, he was voted seventh in the list of Heroes of our time.
Actor Viggo Mortensen with avant-garde guitarist Buckethead dedicated their 2006 album, called Pandemoniumfromamerica, to Chomsky.
On January 22, 2010, a special honorary concert for Chomsky was given at Kresge Auditorium at MIT. The concert, attended by Chomsky and dozens of his family and friends, featured music composed by Edward Manukyan and speeches by Chomsky's colleagues, including David Pesetsky of MIT and Gennaro Chierchia, head of the linguistics department at Harvard University.
In June 2011, Chomsky was awarded the Sydney Peace Prize, which cited his unfailing courage, critical analysis of power and promotion of human rights.
In 2011, Chomsky was inducted into IEEE Intelligent Systems' AI's Hall of Fame for the significant contributions to the field of AI and intelligent systems.
WHIPPED CREAM CHALLENGE AND DRIVE IN MOVIE NIGHT | We Are The Davises
Today was all about sun and fun as we hung out with Jesse, Terra, Jayla, Aydah, and Rory. Kayla shows you her butterfly growing kit. Then, we all meet up at the beach for some body boarding. As dinner time approached, we all head back to our house where we BBQ and do a whipped cream challenge. Next, all the kids get to go to a drive-in movie, but the mosquitoes were so bad that we decided to finish up movie night at home where Jayla and Aydah stay the night and play nail salon with Kayla. Thanks for being a part of our life by interacting with our vlogs!
