Exploring Japan Mountains
First we wanted to visit a mountain tea plantation (
Sizukaen (Green tea garden) ) and have a cup of tea there. Unfortunately the tea house was closed so we decided to go further. Our initial plans was to reach Mount Maya (摩耶山) but we overlooked the path and continued to Mount Rokko (山六甲). The path was very steep but beautiful. Some of the trees were ages old and there were many big sequoias. We were passing by many small temples and shrines, abandoned cottages and orchards. The path was crossing over small rivers and springs. When we realized that reaching Rokko peak is beyond our powers we turned back to Kobe. Soon we'll try again - better equipped this time!

Trip to Kazimierz Dolny, Poland, Part I
Maya and Alex visited Kazimierz - a small and old Polish town on the bank of Vistula river. It is famous for its well preserved 17 century architecture - it is a popular tourist destination. It is surrounded by forests so in one of the next movies Maya and Alex will take for a walk there. In the city there are many old houses, several churches as well the ruins of of 14th century castle. The hotel itself was a centuries old house. Follow us on twitter:

Moon over Ruined Castle filmed, arranged and played on Banjo by LAM
Kōjō no Tsuki (荒城の月 lit. The Moon over the Ruined Castle?) is a Japanese song written in the Meiji period. The music of the song was inspired by the ruins of Oka Castle. I am fascinated by the story of the ruined castle where a group of Japanese warriors fight until their last moments and committed group suicidal to defend their dignity. It is certainly not understandable in the modern era.
I shoot this film with a Phantom 2 vision plus quadcopter and a cheap Nikon mirrorless J1 with kit lens using its limited slow motion function. The visual impact of a flying camera is a totally new experience to me!
I arranged this piece for the Banjo but played this piece using tremolo guitar technique. This was an earlier recording, which I rediscovered in my harddisk after a year. I hope you liket this.

Music in the Market. Naha City, Okinawa
First night in Okinawa. Went for a walk in town passed all the souvenir and food shops. Finally heard real musicians playing in a covered market. Hes playing a Sanshin (Threestring) which is like a fretless banjo with a snakeskin head. The sanba is akin to a three part castanet and the rhythm comes from old Okinawan marshal art. Yeee-haaaar!!
