The Great Bed of Ware
The Great Bed of Ware is probably the single best-known object in the V&A Museum. The four-poster bed is famously over three metres wide, the only known example of a bed of this size, and reputedly able to accommodate at least four couples.
Constructed in about 1590, the Bed was probably made as a tourist attraction for an inn in Ware, Hertfordshire. Ware was a day's journey from London and a convenient place to stop for the night for travellers going to Cambridge University or other destinations. Visitors often carved their initials on the Bed or applied red wax seals , which are still visible on the bedposts and headboard today.

See.... It carries Green Dragon Temple I.D. Card. Green Dragon Temple in Baofeng County was its original name in Song Dynasty but its name was changed to Cool Temple after the invasion of Yuen Dynasty Soldiers at the Baofeng areas until now.
先父說是年幼跟民國阿爺當年在清涼寺一帶的村落定購青瓷珤裝南貨用時買的,是眾多件平價出土器之一。當時無人懂,無人玩,好多,比新做的還平宜,因當特人們都好迷信,忌用出土器,怕附有亡靈。
Father said that when he was young before World War II he followed with grandpa to the Cool Temple village nearby to purchase green porcelain containers for southern preserved food package transportation and brought from the villagers. At the moment, ru-ware was very cheap and no one knew its value as village found many such stuff from excavating their field. On the other hand people at that moment were very superstition and afraid of the burried ware that belong to dead people and carrying evil sprite.
這種鴨蛋綠汝色是主要的一種汝瓷釉色,釉色淺淡中微帶粉紅色,因為宮廷級汝窯是用瑪瑙、紅藍綠寶石入釉。其實民汝早在汝州出現,直至宋朝宋徽宗皇室要求檢取青天色的汝窯作為宮廷級的用器,不同其他官窯體制,汝官窯是官撘民燒,經檢退後的汝器可以民用作買賣不會劈毀的。官汝與民汝(例如臨汝,段店汝,張公巷汝及其他汝器工場等)不同,一般在高倍放大鏡下官汝可見到紅寶石,藍寶石或其他寶未溶的碎片,民汝色較淡白,釉中多只發現有黃綠晶石及瑪瑙碎片。上海博物館及大英博物館的都是這類。官汝窯患骨質疏鬆症是半瓷半瓦之物,所以可以好輕。簿如紙只是比喻宋代作畫用那種宣紙的厚度,其實比成化指影脫胎瓷厚,但都與其他宋器一樣,銀寶光好耀眼。
This duck egg cell color or so call pond water green color is one of the major ru-ware color. Its glaze carries pink color reflection from narrow angle light incident because its glaze was made of agate and ruby and other gemstones for palace class ru-ware production. Civic class ru-ware production lines was a traditional trading until the emperor franchised the SKY-Blue Color for royal use only. Nevertheless, not like other dynasty Royal Ware system to destroy all sub-quality ware, the Song Emperor allowed those second class ru-ware for civic trading. Not like the civic class ru-ware, tiny grains of agate, ruby , sapphire, emerald and other spar, gemstones may be found in the glaze of the royal class ware by using a high ratio microscope. Actually those collection in the Shanghai Museum and Great British Museum would be the civic class only. Ru-war thin like the papers just means those for graph paper used in Song Dynasty. it is thicker than the Sheunghau bodiless ware. Ru-ware is very light in weight because it is a semi porcelain semi tile product but it is shinny able to reflect tiny silver light like other Song Ware.

Wow Let see! This is what the Song Dynasty Emperor’s on ru-ware color so called “The sky coming from the broken rainy cloud” . It may change color from pond water green color to sky blue color according to the lux condition like the sun set scene .
可看到死氣泡也溶入了紅寶石的什質變成深紅色。所以也解釋了為何河南寶豐清涼寺(古稱青龍寺)所出的官汝窯殘片上的魚鱗開片紋是帶肉粉色的。真是不惜工本!在老天珠(瑪瑙)上可看見相同的魚鱗開片紋。
We may see the dead bubbles was merged with ruby substance in ruby red. This may explain why the specimen pieces of genius ru-ware excavated from Cool Temple of Baofeng County (ancient name was Green Dragon Temple) might carrying pink color in narrow angle light reflection. The emperor spent all he has in producing such stuff. Such similar fish scale type inner crack lines may easily found in the aged agate (Dzi Bead).

The history of Ware, Hertfordhire. This started off as a project I was working on with the town mayor and local historians. The project was shelved over six years ago and the footage has remained in the camera ever since. Unlikely to ever be completed I assembled the shots I had and presented it as an extended trailer of what would have been or possibly what could still be. I have used music images and video shots that do not belong to me but have given credit where I can.
