Our day of adventure, exploring the limestone Warsaw Caves, near Peterborough, Ontario.
Warsaw Caves Conservation Area and Campground REVIEW Ontario Canada
Warsaw Caves Conservation Area and Campground, 289 Caves Rd., Warsaw, Ontario CANADA.Peterborough ON.mid-May to mid-October (705) 652-3161 / 1-877-816-7604 / caves@nexicom.net
The Warsaw Caves Conservation Area and Campground takes its name from a series of seven caves found in the park. The caves were formed thousands of years ago at the end of the last ice age by the rushing melt waters of a glacier that covered Ontario.
All you need is a flashlight or a headlamp to enjoy this natural underground jungle gym. You can spend a couple of hours or the whole day exploring the caves. Wear clothes you don't mind dirtying and close fitting shoes and then come on out for some underground fun.
Learn more about the caves and plan your adventure by downloading our Spelunkers Guide to the Caves.
We've got 52 camp sites (unserviced) available for you to enjoy in a beautiful wooded setting less than two hours away from the GTA. Come spend the weekend with us or bring your family for an extended stay through the week.
Our accessible comfort station offers washrooms, showers, laundry room and a dish wash station.
We're open from mid-May through to Thanksgiving each year (Friday, May 8 to Monday, October 12, 2015).
There's more than caves for hikers to enjoy at Warsaw Caves. You'll also find 15 km of trail that meanders through forests and across a limestone plain. Visit the lookout and enjoy a great view down the gorge of Indian River. There's potholes and kettles and a disappearing river. Through the seasons you can see a wide variety of wildflowers and take in the colours of the fall.
Spend a relaxing day paddling a canoe on the Indian River. It's Canoeing 101 – flat water, a gentle current and lots of great scenery. Bring your own canoe or rent one of ours.
A trip to the village of Warsaw by canoe is just two hours out and two hours back and makes a great day trip. Or you can just amble along the river at your leisure.
Enjoy a day on the beach and cool off with a dip in our swimming area on the Indian River. Make it a picnic and enjoy a lazy day. There are tables and barbecues nearby, or bring your own barbecue.
We also offer swimming on Lake Chemong at the Selwyn Beach Conservation Area.
You can fish the length of the Indian River between our canoe launch and the dam in Warsaw as shown in our Indian River Canoe Trip Guide.
The character of the river varies widely and it goes anywhere from a couple of feet deep in places to 28 feet at Quarry Lake.
The catch here is primarily pan fish like perch, crappie and sunfish, alongside bass and mudcat.

Nez0's Bad Shoppe @ Canadian Recon Warsaw Caves G6: Driver's Meeting On The Beach June 22 2019
Hello from Warsaw Caves in Peterborough Ontario, the site of the Canadian Recon G6 Risk It For The Biscuit! LAst year this even broke attendance records and it happened again, 243 trucks went out in search of all things crawling and I attended for my first time ever! Totally worth it, I highly recommend this event to everyone! In this video I tour all the trucks lined up on the beach, capture some of the driver's meeting hosted by Mr Recon G6 himself Brian Parker (awesome guy by the way) and quickly interviewed a few fellow crawlers for tips :D More footage from the G6 to come stay tuned :) Enjoy the video!
Nez0's Bad Shoppe @ Canadian Recon Warsaw Caves G6: Risking It For The Biscuit June 22 2019
That's right, risking it all for the glorious biscuits! Jumping straight into the forests and caves after the fun on the water I first elected to assist a fellow crawler with hauling their sweet barge boat back to their camp with my RC4WD Beast 2 6x6. Swapping into my Axial SCX10.2 Bad Shoppe Media Truck I decided to roam around the trails and capture the moments. You will also see me working the DSLR camera in some shots lol :D Enjoy the video!

Warsaw Caves Warsaw Ontario Pray and I go see the caves and have strange feelings someone is watching us as we are alone there. The caves are very cool and we will return in the summer to explore more. Due to the ice and snow was dangerous to venture to far in the caves. Enjoy! This is part 1 of 2.

The trip sucked. Everyone that was there with us were douchebags. But at least I had fun with Becca.
Warsaw Caves (Ontario Park) - cave 8
Outside of Warsaw, Ontario. There are 7 marked caves following an old river channel in limestone. This is the extension of the last one and probably the most interesting, although #4 has fossils.

Warsaw Caves Toronto Day Trip
Warsaw caves are teeny tiny little caves out near Peterborough. It is a couple of hours drive from Toronto. The caves themselves are more like gaps between fallen rocks rather than underground tunnels carved by rivers. The area is beautiful and is worth a visit.
