Visit to The Castle Wartburg #Wartburg
Wartburg Castle was built in the 11th century, built by Count Ludwig der Springer in 1067. Until 1440, Wartburg was the capital of the Thuringian lords and the cultural center of the world. German nobility at that time. #wartburg in Eisenach
Wartburg castle begins with a stone palace that is considered a masterpiece of post-Roman architectural art. This palace was built between 1156 and 1172, with 200 beautifully carved columns symbolizing the prosperity and power of the German empire. Next to the stone palace was the knight's room, the resting place of the lord's knights and warriors. This is a typical dome architecture of Romance style, with a massive pillar in the center and sophisticated decorative beams and stone tiles originating from the Eisenach region but its reputation starts from several century later. Wartburg is one of the best preserved medieval castles in Germany, guests can choose to walk or take a bus to the castle.

Wartburg Castle - UNESCO World Heritage Site
The UNESCO World Heritage site of Wartburg Castle is a beautiful, fairytale-style castle in central Germany. Originally dating back to the 11th century, most of the buildings today date from the 19th century. Although the castle was never of particular military importance, it has a very important place in German culture. St Elizabeth of Hungary lived here, Martin Luther translated the Greek Bible into German here, and it was also the setting for the Sangerkrieg, a battle of minstrels later immortalised in Wagner's opera Tannhauser.

The Wartburg is a castle originally built in the Middle Ages. It is situated on a precipice of 410 meters (1,350 ft) to the southwest of and overlooking the town of Eisenach, in the state of Thuringia, Germany. In 1999, UNESCO added Wartburg Castle to the World Heritage List. It was the home of St. Elisabeth of Hungary, the place where Martin Luther translated the New Testament of the Bible into German, the site of the Wartburg festival of 1817 and the supposed setting for the possibly legendary Sängerkrieg. It was an important inspiration for Ludwig II when he decided to build Neuschwanstein Castle. Wartburg is the most-visited tourist attraction in Thuringia after Weimar. Although the castle today still contains substantial original structures from the 12th through 15th centuries, much of the interior dates back only to the 19th century.

This audacious plot executed by his friends saved Luther from his enemies and gave him a welcome respite from the challenges he faced.
