Wasaga Beach is a Canadian town at the southern end of Ontario's Georgian Bay. Its long, sandy beach lies on Nottawasaga Bay, with views of the rugged Niagara Escarpment. It’s known for canoe routes on the winding Nottawasaga River. Nancy Island Historic Site, near the river’s mouth, commemorates the War of 1812. Footpaths and cycle trails crisscross Wasaga Beach Provincial Park, home to native wildlife.

Wasaga Beach, Ontario: Driving Tour (July 31, 2018)
Come along with us for a driving tour of Wasaga Beach, Ontario. We come in from the west and follow Mosley Street to the main beach area. After circling the beach area, we backtrack slightly to park at the Wasaga Beach Provincial Park - Beach 2 area.
Wasaga Beach was incorporated as a town a relatively short time ago in 1974. At the time, there were around 1,000 permanent residents. Now, that population has grown to 21,000 and the town is considered one of the fastest growing communities in Canada.
Located 38 kilometres northwest of Barrie, Ontario and 147 KM north of downtown Toronto, Wasaga Beach is found where the Nottawasaga River empties into Georgian Bay. With 14 KM of sandy beach, this is the longest freshwater beach in the world.

The Nottawasaga River and Bay offers great fishing and an opportunity to explore some of our natural assets.

I'm just showing how high the waters are on the longest fresh water beach in the world are. Over a 7-8 years period, these water levels have gotten to the point of a lot of beach lost.
