Washinomiya Shrine in Saitama Japan
Washinomiya Shrine (鷲宮神社 washinomiya jinja) is one of the oldest Shintō shrines in the Kantō region, located in Kuki, Saitama (Formerly Washimiya), Japan.
The Shrine is the setting for the home of Hiiragi sisters of the Anime Lucky Star TV series. It became a famous pilgrimage site for fans of show after it was featured in an article in Newtype magazine, starting a boom on other Anime related location pilgrimages.

出雲族の草創に係る『関東最古の大社』で、由緒は神代の昔に、天穂日宮とその御子武夷鳥宮とが、昌彦・昌武父子外二十七人の部族等を率いて神崎神社（大己貴命）を建てて奉祀したのに始まり、次に天穂日宮の御霊徳を崇め、別宮を建てて奉祀した。

2014 Japan Trip: Washinomiya and Kanda Shrine Prayer Boards, etc
Now for the more Geeky part of the trip.... the day before returning pilgrimage to Washinomiya (Kuki) and Kanda (Chiyoda/Tokyo near Akihabara)... Washinomiya was made famous by the Anime Lucky Star.... as the real life home of Kagami and Tsukasa (so much fame exists that they were even officially added as residents to the register... the pilgrimages began in 2007 with the posting of the fictional drawings and the real-life settings...)... anyhow, the Washinomiya Jinja is one of the oldest shrines in the Kanto region... and has a very long history of historic visitors, which is probably why it was chosen as a setting for the anime... as to be expected, most of the ema (shinto prayer boards) featured Lucky Star characters, some Lucky Star characters cosplaying as Kantai Collection ships, and then some just Kantai collection.. and a very small selection of other themes... there really was very little english at all, which is to be expected considering it is about an hour from any place most tourists would dare venture.... but it was on my way from Sendai (well okay I took Shinkansen to Omiya and then various trains back to Washinomiya (2 different companies) ... but anyhow... it was fun. The least busy shrine I visited, besides the Hayashizaki Jinja... but then again almost no one visits that...
The second part is Kanda Jinja... it is another long existing shrine that now occupies a fairly large plot of land in the middle of very expensive land in Chiyoda, not far from Akihabara... it has enshirned 2 of the 7 gods of luck.. the last enshrined kami is the spirit of Taira no Masakado ... a samurai .. the shrine itself is common place for business men to come pray for luck and wealth and prosperity in building their businesses.. but naturally its proximity to Akihabara also brings many tourists... there was a much wider selection of ema here... from more typical ones, to characters from recent anime, to general art... there was a little more english here as well as I saw some Russian.... some realllllly well done... makes me wish I could draw worth something...

2) Lucky Star OP (as recorded from the dance sequence near the end of the run of the series) - probably will flag
3) Bunkasai wa Junbi ga Ichiban Tanoshii ... Preparations for the School Festival are the MOST FUN! .. also from the Lucky Star BGM... again flag I'm sure...

Please forgive my horrible translations on this one.... due to the rappish nature of this, and the themes, its kinda weird... especailly when it gets to the whole Tsu-chan ... who I'm not sure if this refers to Marisa's pet... or Alice's doll.... so i had to go with my gut feeling this was a Reimu-Marisa love song... although of course... Marisa is all .... trickster and like.. nothing really happened... anyhow... totally picked this song because .. well.. it was summer ... and visiting shrine... what else can I say? ... sadly no love for me.. :P

Washinomiya Saibara Kagura
This video introduces Washinomiya Saibara Kagura,which is an Important Intangible Folk Cultural Property of Japan.
Washinomiya Saibara Kagura is said to be the origin of Kanto Kagura,and it was designated as an Important Intangible Folk Cultural Property at the first designation in 1976.
It is performed six times a year at Washinomiya Shrine in the Washinomiya area,Kuki city.
