A solo 2 day trip 30 mile down the coast to Wasdale Head Inn where they run their own campsite.£5 a night..a bargain. Anyway I climbed up Illgill head on the 1st day..shame it wasnt quite clear as it was drizzly condition but still got decent views..2nd day was abit of a washout so had a run out to Ravenglass and saw the Riman Bath house remains as well as a look at the trains in the Ratty station.Also visited the Wastwater viewpoint,sadly the best views were shrouded in cloud .Enjoyed 2 evenings in the pub with food and ales..A nice short break,shame about the weather #WasdaleHeadInn #Wastwater. #Lakedistrict.

Illgill Head and The Screes, Lake District - 6 September 2015
An 11 mile walk from Wasdale, the route initially rounds Wasdale Head and climbs Illgill Head and then follows the ridge and the crags to Whin Rigg before descending back to the shoreline of Wast Water via Greathall Gill. From the shoreline the route then returns over the scree slopes of Wast Water.

Scafell Pike (England's Tallest Mountain) Epic Drone Crash Recovery, Lake District
After travelling past Wastwater and Wasdale head, I Take off from between Kirk Fell and Great Gable then fly near Scafell Pike towards Great End.
The FPV quadcopter failsafes and almost crashes twice over 2700m away from home at a height of 750m from take off altitude.
Luck was on my side and the GPS recovery mode kicked in a the quad ascended above the terrain and gave control back to me.
Thankfully I was made aware by my spotters (James Crowe and Julian Knibbs) that I was back in control before the quad almost hits the mountain for a second time.
It was estimated to be a 4 hour trek to reach the area of the crash...
