Kata Khor Porn Bucha Ai Khai Dek Wat Chedi.
Kata Khor Porn (ask for blessings) Bucha (and pay reverence to) Ai Khai, Dek Wat Chedi Guardian Deva of Wealth
Idti Idti Kumarn Khai Chedi Ja Mahaa Thaero Laapa Laapaa Pawandtumae
Ai Khai Dek Wat Chedi is said to be a young ten year old Samanera Monk who was on his travels with the Great Luang Phu Tuad on Tudong, and when Luang Por Tuad stopped to 'Pak Glod' (set up umbrella and mosquito net for meditation in the forest, he saw that the temple of Wat Chedi and vicinity was full of great treasures, and the temple was empty and without any monks to stay there. So he told his apprentice the young Samanera Ai Khai, to remain and guard over the temple. Apparently the young Samanera died, and his spirit remained to guard over the temple.
Local folk believe that Ai Khai Dek Wat Chedi is empowered to fulfil all wishes, and to be able to invoke lottery wins, and other auspicious blessings. Devotees flock to the temple every day to pay respects and Bucha, and beg for lottery wins, riches, good jobs and for their friends and family to be bestowed with great blessings. The local folk and Devotees of Wat Chedi like to call this Guardian Spirit 'Ai Khai' and some others call him 'Ta Khai', and even 'Baaw Khai' (a southern term used for a boy or young man). It is however argued that his proper name should be 'Ai Khai', because 'Ta Khai' means 'Uncle Khai' and the Deva always appears as a little boy, the name of 'Uncle' is not fitting.

Wat Kai Monkey Temple | Ayutthaya, Thailand
One on the coolest parts of living in place like Thailand is being able to interact with wildlife that would be unimaginable in the US.
My buddy from my home town of Orland, FL and his wife were in town visiting her family for their first time together. I couldn't think of any better way to give him a unique local wildlife experience than checking out some, somewhat wild monkeys at Wat Kai in Ayutthaya. As alway, the monkeys in Thailand didn't disappoint.

Most would presume this is a Kumantong but in actual fact, it is a deity. It is somewhat similar to KMT as it is also a kid who loves sweet stuff, loves playing but the ranks and power differs that of a Kumantong.

Wat jadee

Wat Chedi Luang & Chiang Man *Men Only Temple!*
we continue right off from our Vlog #8 trip up to Wat Doi Suthep in the morning. We start with a quick breakfast that we worked hard to bargain for. We than head out to Old Town Chiang Mai for our temple hopping adventures.
Although there are countless of temples in Chiang Mai, and over a dozen just in the Old Town ChiangMai area alone, we decide to only visit the top 3 rated temples on TripAdvisor as we only had a day here and wanted to have plenty of time to explore each temple. So in this vlog, we try to answer this frequently asked question. Which temples are the best temples to visit in Chiang Mai. With the help of trip advisor and us, we hope you can decide for yourself which temple is the best temple to visit in Chiangmai.
First we headed to Wat (Temple) Chedi Luang. This temple is located centrally in the Old Town area of ChiangMai, and it was the #1 rated temple on TripAdvisor, and closest to our guesthouse. This temple had the highest entrance fee of all the temples we visited in ChiangMai of 40 Baht.
This particular temple provided our other female friend w a simple, tasteful black skirt to wrap around her short shorts free of charge. Not sure what they provide for people who come dressed in tank tops but I've been forced to wear sweaty dress shirts in other occasions before at other temples so please be aware of dress codes before visiting any temples in Thailand.
The first building you run into at the Wat Chedi Luang compound is a mens only building located right off the entrance. It seems insignificant as it's a small building compared to the larger main temple located to the right, but it was amazing. As you'll see in the video, I have yet to come across such a detailed, colorful, and interesting wall art in my travels so far. It covers every inch of the wall and ceiling, and it seems to illustrate the history of Buddhism in Thailand. Wish I had more time to admire the art work but the women were waiting outside feeling left out so we headed outside quickly to start our all gender inclusive tour of Wat Chedi Luang.
Women should not find this single men-only building a reason to not visit this amazing temple. Even without it, you have this large and what looks like a very old Chedi (a Buddhist stupa) outside. What really makes this particular one stand out is that it's not covered in gold like the majority of other Chedi you will come across in Thailand. It had an authentic, historical feel to it. The view of the sun peaking through the sides was amazing and awe inspiring.
We also visited two separate shrines of very realistic wax figures of what was described to us of very famous high monks that have passed away. It was definitely impressionable. We than walked into the main temple after taking our shoes off to hear monks chanting up front. We are not allowed into the area where the monks are chanting but can view from behind them.
Mayu also decided to donate to the temple and purchase 2 gold leaflets to adorn the buddha statue at the entrance of the temple. She accidentally got one of the leaflets onto her hand. After, she took some photos for her Mayu.et.Gaspard Instagram with her doll and we headed outside to 7-11 to have a quick bite of sausages and their famous paninis before we headed over to our next temple.
We than headed north to the northern part of Old Town Chiang Mai on our scooters where the oldest temple is located, Wat Chiang Man. To our surprise Wat ChiangMan had no entrance fees. It's relatively a smaller temple compared to Wat ChediLuang, but it has its charms.
It also contained 1800 and 2500 year old crystal and marble statues of Buddah. Quite small but interesting. The main attraction of this temple was however located in the back. A relatively small chedi but charming with its numerous elephants and a combination of exposed stone and gold exterior. We must have been the only foreigners in the temple aside from a few locals there to pray. Its a charming temple that is free, peaceful, and quiet if you want to spend an afternoon meditating.
