Wiang Kum Kam «Underground Ancient City» near Chiang Mai

L'histoire
Le roi Mangrai a déplacé la capitale du royaume de Lanna, de Chiang Rai à la vieille ville de Wiang Kum Kam, sur les rives de la rivière Ping en 1288.
Alors que l'emplacement au bord du Ping offre de nombreux avantages, en termes de défense de la ville et de commerce.
La ville était entourée de fossés dans tous les coins et ils ont été utilisés comme réservoirs. La région était basse et sujette à des sévères inondations saisonnières
En 1296, le roi Mangrai a choisi un nouveau site pour sa capitale sur la plus haute rive opposée de la rivière Ping et a déclaré la ville nouvellement construite de Chiang Mai en tant que capitale du royaume de Lanna.
Des années d'inondation et la cité de Wiang Kum Kam fut enterrée sous terre
Wiang Kum Kam était une des villes les plus civilisées du passé, beaucoup de ces temples historiques se composaient d'un viharn et un chedi, entouré d'un mur
Au fil des ans, la ville a été oubliée et devint une partie seulement du Lan Na folklore.

En 1984, les autorités thaïlandaises ont été alertés lors de la découverte d'un certain nombre de tablettes votives anciennes trouvées sur le site du Wat Chang Kam à seulement 5 km au sud-est de la région de Chiang Mai .
Les archéologues sont arrivés très rapidement et ont découvert les vestiges de l'ancienne cité perdue de Wiang Kum Kam.
Plus de trente sites archéologiques dont de nombreux temples antiques ont été trouvés dans la cité antique de forme rectangulaire
Les fouilles sur le site de Wiang Kum Kam suggèrent qu'il y a eu une longue histoire de colonisation dans la région qui remonte au VIIIe siècle.
L'ensemble du site est trop grand pour le faire à pied car il est essentiellement réparti dans plusieurs quartiers de la banlieue. Le meilleur moyen de s'y rendre est en Tuk-Tuk. La meilleure façon de visiter autour des sites est de je faire avec un guide local et une calèche

Parmi les sites, les deux qui sont toujours dans les meilleures conditions et en usage aujourd'hui sont Wat Chedi Liem qui, apparemment, n'a jamais été touchées par les inondations, et
le Wat Chang Kam (ou Wat Kan Thom) le nom de l'artisan, Kan Thom, qui a construit le temple.
Outre ces deux sites importants, les autres comprennent
Wat E-Khang, Wat Chang Nan, Wat Pu Pia, Wat That Khao, Wat Phaya Mangrai et Wat Ku Padom.

Welcome to my Cake Decorating Basics How to Prepare a Cake tutorial. Making a cake look great is all about the preparation of your cake. This starts with the base you give yourself to work with. A cake that has a great base will always look great. The look is just as important as the taste. Smooth fondant on a cake with a sharp edge and a fondant covered cake board gives your cake a professional finish. Once you have mastered this you will never look back. This tutorial is demonstrated with chocolate ganache but can be also implemented with buttercream too. I have tried to make it as simple as possible. This is a compilation of 3 of my tutorials merged together. I thought it would be great for beginners to find everything they need all in one place. There is no secret to making a great cake, it just requires the knowledge, time and patience. You can find a tutorial to make the chocolate ganache here I use Massa Ticino Tropic fondant to cover my cakes.
