Rangsit Floating Market & Thai National Memorial
????Rangsit Floating Market
-It’s not really a floating market like foreign tourists would imagine it. It is true that there are a couple of boat vendors selling food. However, the majority of food is sold from normal stalls. Having said that, technically it is a floating market as the whole thing is on a series of linked flat barges moored to the bank.
????Thai National Memorial
-Thai National Memorial was built for the 200th Anniversary of the Rattanakosin celebration as a memorial to the Great King in the past, and the Thai people who sacrificed their lives for the nation. The memorial is located in Khu Khot sub-district where Vibhavadi Rangsit Road and Phahonyothin Road connect.

Chao Phraya River
The Chao Phraya is a major river in Thailand, with its low alluvial plain forming the centre of the country. It runs through Bangkok, the capital city, and then empties into the Gulf of Thailand.
River settlementsCities along the Chao Phraya include Nakhon Sawan, Uthai Thani, Chainat, Singburi, Ang Thong, Ayutthaya, Pathum Thani, Nonthaburi, Bangkok and Samut Prakan, listed from north to south. These cities are among the most historically significant and densely populated settlements of Thailand precisely because of their access to the waterway, with Bangkok alone having a population of over 12 million.
TransportationThe major bridges that cross the Chao Phraya are in the province of Bangkok: the Rama VI rail-road bridge; Phra Pin-klao near the Grand Palace; Rama VIII, a single tower asymmetrical cable-stayed bridge; Rama IX, a semi-symmetric cable-stayed bridge; and Mega Bridge, part of the Industrial Ring Road.
In Bangkok, the Chao Phraya is a major transportation artery for a vast network of river buses, cross-river ferries and water taxis, also known as longtails. More than 15 boat lines operate on the rivers and canals of the city, including commuter lines.
Reclining Buddha
Foot indicating 108 auspicious symbols of BuddhaThe image of reclining Buddha is 15 m high and 43 m long with his right arm supporting the head with tight curls on two box-pillows of blue, richly encrusted with glass mosaics.[4] The 3 m high and 4.5 m long foot of Buddha displays are inlaid with mother-of-pearl. They are divided into 108 arranged panels, displaying the auspicious symbols by which Buddha can be identified like flowers, dancers, white elephants, tigers and altar accessories.Over the statue is a seven tiered umbrella representing the authority of Thailand. There are 108 bronze bowls in the corridor indicating the 108 auspicious characters of Buddha. People drop coins in these bowls as it is believed to bring good fortune, and to help the monks maintain the wat.Though the reclining Buddha is not a pilgrimage centre, it remains an object of popular piety.Wikipedia
Destinasi Sungai Chao Phraya Bangkok Thailand

Longtail Boat Ride Through the Khlongs Klongs Off Chao Phraya River Part 2 - Phil in Bangkok
The Chao Phraya is a major river in Thailand, with its low alluvial plain forming the centre of the country. It runs through Bangkok, the capital city, and then empties into the Gulf of Thailand.
The Chao Phraya begins at the confluence of the Ping and Nan rivers at Nakhon Sawan (also called Pak Nam Pho) in Nakhon Sawan province. It then flows south for 372 kilometres (231 mi) from the central plains to Bangkok and the Gulf of Thailand. In Chainat, the river splits into the main course and the Tha Chin river, which then flows parallel to the main river and exits in the Gulf of Thailand about 35 kilometres (22 mi) west of Bangkok in Samut Sakhon. In the low alluvial plain which begins below the Chainat dam, many small canals (khlong) split off from the main river. The khlong are used for the irrigation of the region's rice paddies.
The rough co-ordinates of the river are 13 N, 100 E. This area has a wet monsoon climate, with over 1,400 mm of rainfall per year, and temperatures range from 24°C to 33°C in Bangkok.
River settlements
Cities along the Chao Phraya include Nakhon Sawan, Uthai Thani, Chainat, Singburi, Ang Thong, Ayutthaya, Pathum Thani, Nonthaburi, Bangkok and Samut Prakan, listed from north to south. Talad Rot Fai (ตลาดนัดรถไฟ), also known as the Train night market in Bangkok, or Talad Rot Fai in Thai, is one of the most popular night markets in Bangkok - this branch located at Ratchada. Here’s a map link:
By the way, this is Part 2 of this Night Market Thai street food tour. You can watch the gigantic tom yum challenge here:
The market is known for its unique Thai street food, some of the snacks and dishes which are invented there and you won’t find anywhere else in Bangkok.
Laeng Saeb (เล้งแซ่บ) at Diaw Maekhlong Restaurant (ร้านเตี๋ยวแม่กลอง) - Laeng saeb, a dish of pork bones and ridiculous amounts of green chilies is one of the most popular Thai street food inventions at Talad Rot Fai, and this is mainly what I came to eat. The restaurant is located at the back of the market, and they have a few different sizes you can choose from.
XXL Laeng Saeb (เล้งแซ่บ) - Price - 599 THB ($18.96) - We went straight for the XXL size, a massive platter of pork bones, soup, insane amounts of green chilies and the soup broth. Of all the Thai street food I’ve eaten, this is one of the most unbelievable and insanely giant street foods of Thailand I’ve ever seen or eaten. Although it’s way more than I ever care to eat again in one sitting, it’s actually a really good dish.
Crispy butter (เนยกรอบ) - 35 THB ($1.11)
Stir fried ice cream (ไอติมผัด) - 69 THB ($2.18)
Coconut shake (น้ำมะพร้าวปั่น) - 35 THB ($1.11)
And that completed this Thai street food night market tour of Talad Rot Fai. It’s well worth a visit, and you can of course, order smaller sizes of laeng saeb when you’re in Bangkok. Enjoy!

UNBELIEVABLE PLACES THAT REALLY EXIST - The Most Mysterious UFO Temple Wat Phra Dhammakaya Thailand
Today we are in Wat Phra Dhammakaya Temple in Bangkok Thailand.
Except for those who actively visit or attend the temple, Wat Phra Dhammakaya is much of a mystery to Westerners looking to explore Buddhism, despite it being the largest, most populous temple in Thailand.
Wat Phra Dhammakaya is a colossal 1,000 acre Buddhist temple in Khlong Luang District, in the peri-urban Pathum Thani Province north of Bangkok, Thailand. It was founded in 1970.
Apart from Wat Phra Dhammakaya’s immense size, the temple is also known for its iconic dome-shaped UFO looking Cetiya. The Dhammakaya Cetiya is certainly one of the more grand cetiyas in the world. The Cetiya houses 1 million Buddha statues, 300,000 on the outside and 700,000 housed on the interior. This is definitely a top 5 temple in the world that you must see.

HM King opens Klong Lad Pho Canal Gates & 2 Bridges
His Majesty was accompanied by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn as he sat on the foredeck of the royal vessel, Angsana, during the 90-minute trip down the river. The royal trip was organised for the King to inaugurate the two suspension bridges and the flood gate on a canal beneath them.
The King initiated the bridges and flood gate to help alleviate traffic problems in Samut Prakan and to help ease the annual flooding of the Chao Phraya River's lower reaches.
Construction of the two bridges _ Bhumibol 1 and Bhumibol 2 _ named after the King began in 1995 before being opened unofficially to traffic in 2006 as part of a 13km industrial ring road.
Bhumibol Bridge 1 links Bangkok with the industrial zones in Samut Prakan while Bhumibol 2 links Phra Pradaeng with the Samrong Tai area, also in Samut Prakan.
The two bridges have helped ease traffic in surrounding areas by serving as a city bypass for heavy trucks.
The 500 million baht flood gate, named after a local canal, Khlong Lad Pho, was built with the aim of easing flooding in areas along the river in Bangkok, Samut Prakan's Phra Pradaeng district, Pathum Thani and Nonthaburi.
Small turbines have been installed at the flood gate to tap power from the water flow to generate electricity.
The King arrived at the project site about 6pm to a welcome from thousands of well-wishers. He pressed a button on board the royal vessel to open the bridges and the flood gate after a 40-minute light-and-sound show which ended with a spectacular fireworks display.
The inauguration ceremony started at around 6pm yesterday, with His Majesty presiding from the boat.
Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva first presented his report on the projects, before video presentations were displayed. Then His Majesty placed his hand on a sensor starting an impressive light-and-sound show about the Pho canal, its water gates and the bridges. The show was brought to a spectacular end with fireworks.
His Majesty was often seen taking pictures from time to time. Once the ceremony was completed, His Majesty was seen off with loud chants of Long Live the King from his people. The King arrived at Siriraj Hospital at around 7.35pm.

Thailand-Bangkok:
Bangkok is the capital city of and largest urban area in Thailand. It is known in Thai as Krung Thep Maha Nakhon, meaning city of angels. Bangkok is by far the most densely populated city in Thailand with about 12 million people. Bangkok was a small trading post near the mouth of the Chao Phraya River during the Ayutthaya Kingdom in the 15th century. It eventually grew in size and became the site of two capital cities: Thonburi in 1768 and Rattanakosin in 1782.
Due to its strategic location in Southeast Asia, Siam (later Thailand) acted as a buffer-state between French and British colonial powers. Bangkok gained a reputation as an independent, dynamic, and influential city. Today, Bangkok is not only the political, social, and economic centre of Thailand, but plays a leading role in trade, commerce, culture, the arts, education, healthcare and transport for the Indochina region.
The Asian investment boom in the 1980s and 1990s led many multinational corporations to locate their regional headquarters in Bangkok. The city is a now a major regional force in finance and business. Its growing influence on global politics, culture, fashion and entertainment underlines its status as an Alpha global city.In 2009, it was the second most expensive city in South-East Asia behind Singapore. The city's many cultural landmarks and attractions in addition to its notorious red light district has made it synonymous with exoticism. The historic Grand Palace, Wat Arun, and Temple of the Reclining Buddha, in addition to Khaosan Road and Soi Cowboy, are major tourist destinations in the capital. In combination with being the major gateway to Laos, Burma, and Cambodia, it is second worldwide only to London in terms of tourist visits per year.
The rapid growth of the 1980's led to prolonged construction boom which has rapidly transformed Bangkok's skyline. As a result of poor urban planning and zoning restrictions, most historic buildings lay side by side with large skyscrapers influenced by European and North American designs. Moreover, this rapid growth was seen clearly from the decay of road networks which lacked arterial and feeder systems. The past decade has seen the city turn to mass transit to solve this major societal problem. There are currently 87.5 km of rail services, with an additional 148.8 either approved or under construction. This would only be a part of a 509 km network aimed for completion before 2029. Suvarnabhumi Airport deals with most of Bangkok's international flights, while Don Mueang International Airport, the previous main international airport, deals with a smaller portion of Bangkok's air transit.
In 2005, Bangkok had an official population of 5,658,953, with 4,126,183 more residents living in the greater Bangkok area.Bangkok borders five other provinces: Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani, Samut Prakan, Samut Sakhon and Nakhon Pathom; all five provinces are joined in the conurbation of the Bangkok Metropolitan Area.

UNBELIEVABLE THINGS IN BANGKOK | INCREDIBLE FORTUNE TELLING |
The reality of Thai society is that fortune telling is the serious issue here by almost every Thai citizen and superstitions go along with Thailand really well. One of the most sacred place in Bangkok we went is Bangkok city pillar shrine. There, we tried Thai way of telling if the wish would come true. Lifting up sacred buddha statue is one of the way to tell your future to see if your wish would come true and this is actually unbelievable, if the first round you could lift sacred statue up but you can't lift up in the second round, meaning that what you wish would come true. Some of those who dare their wish with the sacred statue got different result. The unbelievable part is that when you can lift it up in the first round, then why you can't lift it up at all in the second round, no matter how much effort you try to lift the statue up.
___________________________________________________________
Lak mueang (Thai: หลักเมือง) are city pillars found in most cities of Thailand. Usually housed in a shrine (Thai: ศาลหลักเมือง) which is also believed to house Chao Pho Lak Mueang (เจ้าพ่อหลักเมือง), the city spirit deity. It was constructed because the continuation of ancient traditions and Brahman's customs believed that it has something to do with the Held, the single city pillar ceremony (Held “Lak Muang”) which is made of an Acacia wood Chaiyaphreuk (Thai: ชัยพฤกษ์) before the construction of the city for a major goal to build a city and to be the centre of soul for the citizens.
People usually use three incense sticks, one candle, gold foil, two lotuses, two flower garlands, and one three-colour taffeta to worship at the shrine.

???????? Bangkok, Thailand - Amazing Travel Video! (HD)
Crazy capital of Thailand
Bangkok is the capital city of and largest urban area in Thailand. It is known in Thai as Krung Thep Maha Nakhon (กรุงเทพมหานคร, pronounced [krūŋ tʰêːp máhǎː nákʰɔ̄ːn] ( listen)) or simply Krung Thep ( listen), meaning city of angels. Bangkok is by far the most densely populated city in Thailand with about 12 million people. Because of its strategic location in Southeast Asia, Siam (later Thailand) acted as a buffer-zone between the French and British colonial empires. Bangkok itself has gained a reputation as an independent, dynamic and influential city. Bangkok is the political, social and economic centre of Thailand, and one of the leading cities in Southeast Asia.
Due to the 1980s and 1990s Asian investment boom, many multinational corporations make their regional headquarters in Bangkok and the city is a regional force in finance and business. Its increasing influence on global politics, culture, fashion and entertainment underlines its status as an Alpha global city.[1] In 2009, it was the second most expensive city in South-East Asia behind Singapore.[2]
The city's many cultural landmarks and attractions in addition to its nightlife venues has made it synonymous with exoticism. Its rapid modernization, reflected in the cityscape and the urban society, has left untouched the historic Grand Palace, Wat Arun, Vimanmek Palace Complex and hundreds of Buddhist temples draw about 10 million international visitors each year, second only to London.[3]
Bangkok has an official population of 8,249,117 residents, while the greater Bangkok area contains some 14,565,520 (Census 2010).[4] The capital is a center of the megalopolis of 20 million people, situated in a heavily urbanized triangle of central and eastern Thailand, which stretches from Nakhon Ratchasima to the heavily Industrialized Eastern Seaboard. Bangkok borders five other provinces: Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani, Samut Prakan, Samut Sakhon and Nakhon Pathom all five provinces are joined in the conurbation of the Bangkok Metropolitan Area. It is served by two international airports: Suvarnabhumi Airport and Don Mueang International Airport, four rapid transit lines operated by the BTS, MRT, and the SRT, with plans to add additional lines by 2020.

SUMMARY
=======
Bangkok (UK: , US: ) is the capital and most populous city of Thailand. It is known in Thai as Krung Thep Maha Nakhon (กรุงเทพมหานคร, pronounced [krūŋ tʰêːp mahǎː nákʰɔ̄ːn] (listen)) or simply Krung Thep (listen ). The city occupies 1,568.7 square kilometres (605.7 sq mi) in the Chao Phraya River delta in central Thailand, and has a population of over eight million, or 12.6 percent of the country's population. Over fourteen million people (22.2 percent) lived within the surrounding Bangkok Metropolitan Region at the 2010 census, making Bangkok the nation's primate city, significantly dwarfing Thailand's other urban centres in terms of importance.
Bangkok traces its roots to a small trading post during the Ayutthaya Kingdom in the 15th century, which eventually grew and became the site of two capital cities: Thonburi in 1768 and Rattanakosin in 1782. Bangkok was at the heart of the modernization of Siam, later renamed Thailand, during the late 19th century, as the country faced pressures from the West. The city was at the centre of Thailand's political struggles throughout the 20th century, as the country abolished absolute monarchy, adopted constitutional rule, and underwent numerous coups and several uprisings. The city grew rapidly during the 1960s through the 1980s and now exerts a significant impact on Thailand's politics, economy, education, media and modern society.
The Asian investment boom in the 1980s and 1990s led many multinational corporations to locate their regional headquarters in Bangkok. The city is now a regional force in finance and business. It is an international hub for transport and health care, and has emerged as a centre for the arts, fashion, and entertainment. The city is known for its vibrant street life and cultural landmarks, as well as its notorious red-light districts. The historic Grand Palace and Buddhist temples including Wat Arun and Wat Pho stand in contrast with other tourist attractions such as the nightlife scenes of Khaosan Road and Patpong. Bangkok is among the world's top tourist destinations, and has been named the world's most visited city in multiple rankings.
Bangkok's rapid growth coupled with little urban planning has resulted in a haphazard cityscape and inadequate infrastructure. An inadequate road network, despite an extensive expressway network, together with substantial private car usage, have led to chronic and crippling traffic congestion, which caused severe air pollution in the 1990s. The city has since turned to public transport in an attempt to solve the problem. Five rapid transit lines are now in operation, with more systems under construction or planned by the national government and the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration.
