Just a short way up from the east gate of old Sukhothai is Wat Traphang Thong, the temple of the golden pond.
This Buddhist temple is the only one of the ancient temples within the old city walls that is still in active use, today. Originally built during the reign of King Lithai of Sukhothai, the main remaining structure is a laterite Singhalese-style round-shaped chedi.
In front of the chedi s a small pavilion housing the Lord Buddha footprint on a large stone slab. The Footprint dates from 1359 and was originally at the temple of Phra Bat Yai situtaed on a hill outside of town. It was moved to Wat Traphang Thong in the mid-twentieth century.....

Wat Chang Lom - Sukhothai Historical Park, Thailand
วัดช้างล้อม
“The temple surrounded by elephants” is not strictly within the confines of the Sukhothai Historical Park, being located a little way from the Kamphaeng Gate entrance to the old city.
Wat Chang Lom, though , is a definitely worth a visit.
The temple is dominated by a Lanka-style Chedi (Stupa) and dates to the late 14th century. The ruins are surrounded by a moat, and contain numerous foundations of smaller chedis, a vihara and an Ordination Hall. The striking bell-shaped stupa stands on a square brick base surrounded by 32 elephant sculptures…….

Sukhothai historical park Thailand, 2007, Wat Sa Si
Wat Sa Si (Thai: วัดสระศรี) is a small temple close to Ramkhamhaeng Monument. Wat Sa Si is beautifully situated in the midst of Traphang-Trakuan lake northwest of Wat Mahathat. Due to its location, the temple is one of the most beautiful place in Sukhothai. The temple has a Lanka styled stupa. The vihara of Wat Sa Si is situated on the east side of the stupa.
The Sukhothai Historical Park (Thai: อุทยานประวัติศาสตร์สุโขทัย (Pronunciation)) covers the ruins of Sukhothai, which literally means Dawn of Happiness, capital of the Sukhothai kingdom in the 13th and 14th centuries, in what is now the north of Thailand. It is located near the modern city of Sukhothai, capital of the province with the same name.

Wat Si Sawai - Sukhothai Historical Park, Thailand
Wat Si Sawai is one of the oldest temples in the Sukhothai Historical Park, having been founded at the end of the 12th century or early 13th century and before the coming of the Sukhothai Kingdom.
Initially the temple consisted of three prangs, constructed by the Khmer as a Hindu sanctuary dedicated to Shiva.
The prangs were left unfinished and were only completed during the Ayutthaya era in the 15th century they were finished in the Lopburi- style. At this time the temple adapted to the needs of the Buddhist faith, with a Vihara being added to the south if the cntral prang.
These prangs are adorned with stuccoed carvings of several mythological creatures like the multi headed Naga serpents, Makaras (a sea creature) and Kala, a mythological monster like creature without a lower jaw often found depicted on temples in Angkor.
Wat Saphan Hin - Sukhothai Historical Park, Thailand
On a hill overlooking the old city stands one of Sukhothai's most beautiful Buddha images, the Phra Attharot Buddha of Wat Saphan Hin. The temple's name means stone bridge, which comes from the slate stone pathway that makes the climb to the top of the hill only slightly easier.
The temple dates to the mid 1300’s and was commissioned by King Ramkhamhaeng
The path is about 300 meters long. There is a stone platform with a small square chedi(stupa) on it, about two-thirds of the way up.
My only companion to the ‘summit’ was a local dog on this bright, cool, almost autumnal day, just after sunrise……

Wat Sa Si, Sukhothai
Wat Sa Si it located about in the center of the historical old city of Sukhothai, Thailand. Besides a stupa and a splendid sitting Buddha Image, there is a most photogenic Walking Buddha Image (likely a more recent addition). Wat Sa Si is located in the middle of a small lake, splendid surroundings.
