Because of high altitude and cold weather, rime is not rare in Heilongjiang Province, and it is everywhere from Greater Khingan Range in the north to Harbin City in the south. There are several famous ones such as Kurbin rime, Nanwenghe rime, Lotus Lake rime, and Jingpo Lake rime. Kurbin rime, located at the border of Heihe City and Yichun City, is one of the wonderful views in the Lesser Khingan Range which has a four-month viewing period. Also, Kurbin rime is known as “hanjiangxueliu”, means the snowy willow beside the cold river. When winter comes and flowers fall, Kurbin reservoir discharges tail water after generating electricity and helps form the beautiful view of rime.

13 Stunning Photos of Wuchang, Heilongjiang
Wuchang is a county-level district of Harbin, capital city of Heilongjiang, the northernmost province of China’s Northeast region. The city is famous for its agricultural product, especially the extremely popular Wuchang rice.
Wuchang is a semi-mountainous city covering a total area of 7,500 square kilometers. Its ground slopes from southeast to northwest.
Though labour use in rice cultivation has been declining, wet rice is still one of the most labour-intensive crops in the world due to its massive requirement of human labor during different growing stages such as land preparation, transplanting seeding, growing and harvesting.
Wuchang is a county-level district of Harbin, Harbin boasts one of the world’s three black lands that are suitable for rice planting. Thanks to the fertile soil, abundant sunshine and rain, Harbin has managed to develop a unique rice brand known to the whole of China and many parts of the world.
The depth of Harbin’s black soil ranges from 40 to 100 centimeters, with rich organic matter resulting from the rotting of a large amount of leaves for thousands of years.
Statistics reveal that the amount of precipitation in Harbin throughout the year ranges from 400 to 900 millimeters. Also, the Songhua River and its tributaries offer pollution-free irrigation water for the rice in the region.
Thanks to the suitable climate, the rice maturity period can reach 135 to 140 days, in addition the significant temperature difference between day and night greatly facilitate the accumulation of nutrients and amylose in the rice.
Wuchang has a very long history of rice cultivation. According to historical records, an emperor of the Qing Dynasty specified the rice grown in Wuchang for imperial use. Therefore, the Wuchang rice is also known as the Wuchang imperial rice.

鏡泊湖位於牡丹江市西南90公里，是世界第二大高山堰塞湖，與瑞士日內瓦湖齊名，是國家級風景名勝區、國家地質公園和國家5A級景區。鏡泊湖群山環抱，清幽多姿。1萬多年前，由於火山噴發，大量玄武岩堵塞水道，形成海拔353米，深40米，水域89.7平方公里的火山堰塞湖。湖畔的吊水樓瀑布，平時幅寬70米，豐水期300米，落差20米，水聲如雷，呼嘯飛瀉，是世界最大的玄武岩瀑布。每到冬季，瀑布就變成了巨大的冰帘，冰凌晶瑩，冰錐倒懸，氣象萬千。瀑布下面的黑龍潭水深60米，終年不凍。挑戰吉尼斯世界記錄的狄煥然，是中國懸崖瀑布跳水第一人，他常年堅持在此給遊客表演瀑布跳水。無論冬夏，飛身一躍，給無數遊人留下了深刻的印象。
Lake Jingbo, located 90 kilometers from southwest of Mudanjiang City, is the second largest mountain barrier lake in the world and is as famous as Lake Geneva in Switzerland. It is also a national scenic spot, a national geological park, and a national 5A scenic spot. Lake Jingbo is surrounded by mountains and is very quiet and colorful. More than 10,000 years ago, a large number of basalts blocked waterways due to volcanic eruptions, forming an 89.7-square-kilometer volcanic barrier lake which is 353 meters high and 40 meters deep. The Diaoshuilou Waterfall beside the lake is 70 meters in width, 300 meters in high flow season, and has a 20-meter drop. The sound of water is like thunder, and the waterfall is the largest basalt waterfall in the world. When winter comes, the waterfall becomes a huge ice curtain covered with ice crystal and icicles, majestic and grand. There is a black dragon pool under the waterfall is 60 meters deep and is never frozen. Huanran Di, the first man to challenge the Guinness World Record, is the first man to dive on the cliff waterfall in China. He always insists on performing waterfall diving for visitors. Whether summer or winter, his diving always leaves a deep impression on numerous visitors.

With good ecological environment, Jiamusi won the title of China's best eco-friendly city, the top ten largest new Tianfu (nature's storehouse), National Garden City, and National Forest City. This year, Jiamusi was listed in the most beautiful city in China because of its Sino-Russian atmosphere.
