Providence Rhode Island Virtual Tour 4K
This a virtual tour from around Providence Rhode Island in Fall 2019. Providence has a Waterfire walk at night along the water front, which is popular during the summer. In the video I walk around downtown Providence then go over to Federal Hill and explore Little Italy and Atwater Street. I also walk around East Providence a bit where Brown University is located.

WaterFire salutes Narragansett Bay Commission for ten years of success in cleaning up the Bay!
This is the tenth anniversary of “the biggest project you’ll never see,” otherwise known as Narragansett Bay Commission’s Combined Sewer Overflow Project (CSO). It’s been ten years since the Project went on-line and the results have been impressive — Phases I and II of the CSO have captured and treated 9.2 billion gallons of pollution, immensely benefiting the Bay and the state as a whole.

WaterFire at Providence River 2014
WaterFire is the award-winning sculpture by Barnaby Evans presented on the rivers of downtown Providence, RI.
First created by Evans in 1994 to celebrate the tenth anniversary of First Night Providence, WaterFire has grown to become an annual public art phenomenon.
WaterFire is simultaneously a free public art installation, a performance work, an urban festival, a civic ritual and a spiritual communal ceremony. Well known nationally and internationally as a community arts event, WaterFire’s symbolism and interpretation is both inclusive and expansive - reflecting the recognition that individuals must act together to strengthen and preserve their community.[1]
On WaterFire evenings, downtown Providence is transformed by one hundred bonfires that burn just above the surface of the three rivers that pass through the middle of downtown Providence in Waterplace Park (the Woonasquatucket, Moshassuck, and Providence rivers). The public is invited to come and walk the riverfront, and enjoy the beauty of the flickering firelight, the fragrant scent of aromatic wood smoke, the changing silhouettes of the volunteer firetenders, and the music from around the world – each of which engages the senses and emotions of all who stroll the paths of Waterplace Park.
Average attendance is 40,000 a night,[2] ranging from 10,000 to 100,000. WaterFire is presented for free, with only ten percent of the funds needed to host WaterFire acquired through governmental means and the remainder coming from private and corporate donations.

WaterFire Providence and the 2013 RI Rally4Recovery
The Rhode Island Rally4Recovery has been selected by Faces & Voices of Recovery as the 2013 National Hub event for rally celebrations held across the country. The free, family-friendly festival will take place on Saturday, September 21 from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Roger Williams National Memorial, 282 North Main Street in Providence. Rallies and other recovery events are held in September of each year, throughout the nation, as part of National Recovery Month.
The Rhode Island Rally brings together diverse segments of the recovery community including people in recovery from drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental illness. Many of their family members, friends and advocates for recovery also participate. The purpose of the event is to raise awareness by letting Rhode Islanders know that people can and do recover, treatment does work and there are many pathways to recovery. It provides those in recovery with the opportunity to share stories about their journeys to recovery and helps to dispel the negative public perception associated with substance use disorders and mental illness. It is important for people to know that, while the road to recovery may be difficult, the benefits of preventing and overcoming addiction and/or mental disorders are significant and valuable to everyone -- individuals, families, and communities.
