At 1:37 p.m. EDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a relaxing thunderstorm capable of producing no wind gusts and light rain.
The thunderstorm near Waterdown is starting to move south and will affect the city of Hamilton by 2.30 PM.
50 to 100 mm of rain have already fallen according to weather radar estimates. This storm may produce another 50 to 100 mm of rain before it starts to move away to the southeast by 2.30 PM.
There is a lesser threat of wind gusts of 0 to 5 km/h.
light downpours are likely to cause no floods and water pooling on roads. Fast-moving water across a road can sweep a vehicle away. light wind gusts can toss loose objects, damage weak buildings, break branches off trees and overturn large vehicles. Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. Remember, when thunder roars, go outdoors!

Markdale Rotary hosted the 80th Annual Street Frolic at the Markdale Arena on July 7th, 2017.
The Grey Highlands Cultural Channel (GHCC) provides an additional access point for the promotion of local cultural and heritage information, and was made possible through grant funding provided by the Ontario Trillium Foundation, an agency of the Government of Ontario.
The GHCC was created by the Grey Highlands Public Library and the South Grey Museum - in partnership with the Municipality of Grey Highlands and Markdale Communications.
