Chasing Waterloo Central Steam from St Jacobs to Elmira and Back
On the Victoria day holiday, the Waterloo Central Railway does an excursion along the Waterloo sub, from St. Jacobs to Elmira and back with their MLW 0-6-0. I spent my afternoon chasing this train, which was incredibly fun. This was my first time seeing a steam locomotive in action! Hope you enjoy!

Waterloo Central Railway Visit
A day at the Waterloo Central Railway
Waterloo Central Railway
On June 30, 2016 the Waterloo Central Railway hosted their first steam photo freight. Essex Terminal 9 an 0-6-0 was the star of the show. Our charter started early with lighting the fire. Later, we were treated to #9 doing what she was built to do - switch cars and assemble trains. Our train then ran from St. Jacobs, Ontario to Elmira and back stopping along the way for photo runbys.

WCR steam engine #9 moving freight south from Elmira to st. Jacobs
For my Birthday, I went to St Jacobs to witness the Waterloo Central Railway hosting their first ever Freight Photo Shoot Date. In the event, ETR #9 was moving freight in between st Jacobs and Elmira and they did many photo runby's. This is also the only steam/freight train on Canada so this sure was an amazing experience. Also, considering the fact that the LRT in Waterloo eliminated all daylight operations of GEXR 584, it sure was a treat to see freight cars in the sunshine traveling down the Waterloo Spur. Anyway hope you enjoy!
Film Locations in order

2. The private crossing on Oriole pkwy east
3 The small laneway that runs parallel to the Waterloo spur in between Scotchline Road and Highway 85.
