Waterside Beach Provincial Park
The Hector in Pictou Harbor and Waterside provincial park.
I took the kids to Pictou for the day. First we took a walk on the pier in Pictou as i flew the drone out past the Hector. We finished off the day at Waterside beach in Pictou County.
From Wikipedia Hector was a ship famous for having been part of the first significant migration of Scottish settlers to Nova Scotia in 1773. The replica of the original ship is located at the Hector Heritage Quay, a heritage centre run by local volunteers, in Pictou, Nova Scotia.[1]

Amanda MacDonald also gave her award to the Most Resilient Little Island on Waterside Beach. On her ribbon it read with change comes many stories and so hers was one more. Change is good said Amanda, and as testimony to this idea she likes to think about this this place as a little traveling mountain that is going somewhere else.

Hiking Trails of Nova Scotia - Caribou-Munroes Island
There are few stretches of the Northumberland Shore not dappled with cottages. Fortunately, near Pictou, tiny Caribou Provincial Park provides access to Munroes Island, which is actually connected to the mainland by a long, sandy beach. There is no signed trail, but the shoreline of Munroes Island has long attracted recreational walkers.
