Watersmeet Walk Lynmouth was about 4.75 miles in distance in Exmoor National Park. The terrain of the route was a combination of moorland, woodland, field, riverside and coastal paths. The walking was on undulating ground with gentle to moderate slopes except for one steep ascent. Route finding was easy with obvious paths, good waymarking and good landmarks. Some of the route can be a little muddy in places. There were no stiles to negotiate.

Exmoor Walks | A Walk From Brendon to Lynton & Lynmouth via Watersmeet
Following the eventual melting of snow from the 'Beast From The East', Abbie heads over to Exmoor to explore one of her favourite routes along the East Lyn River.
Her walk begins in the small village of Brendon and then follows the river on a tranquil trail to Watersmeet House. A few more miles of undulating path and wooden bridges and Abbie arrives in the seaside town of Lynmouth. The adjoining town, Lynton, has a fascinating history - Abbie visits the flood memorial hall, explores the Cliff Valley Railway, and makes a compulsory cream tea stop.
Finally headed back, Abbie ventures onto the other side of the river,. spotting wildlife along the way back to the car and the end of the walk.

Watersmeet Trail Lynmouth, Devon -Nature's Beauty
The walk from Lynmouth to Watersmeet is about 2-1/2 miles of green, silent & peaceful ancient woods beauty along the River Lyn. Some parts are uphill & a bit challenging, but the amazing whortleberry cream tea & scones at the cafe await at the end of the walk. Stop, rest, catch your breath if you need to and enjoy the scenery!
LYNMOUTH TO WATERSMEET WALK NORTH DEVON
The delightful walk from the North Devon village of Lynmouth to Watersmeet along the banks of the East Lyn River gorge in the U.K.
A distance of just under two miles makes this walk fairly easy and also with the chance to spot some really nice plants and animals of the way.
A National Trust building and cafe provide a nice place to stop off for a Devon a cream tea.

Walking Britain's Oldest Road - Exploring The Ridgeway National Trail
Join Abbie Barnes as she explores the Ridgeway National Trail, 87 miles from Overton Hill in Wiltshire, across Berkshire and Oxfordshire, before concluding high up on the exposed point of Ivinghoe Beacon in Buckinghamshire.
Across 5 days, she visited world renowned archaeological sites, met passionate individuals, and witnessed stunning far-reaching views. She began the trail expecting a long, exposed trudge along a grassy ridge, but came away inspired, and incredibly grateful that this 5000 year old track is still accessible and valued by those who use it.
Abbie hopes that by sharing her adventure along this ancient route she might encourage you to Spend More Time In The WILD.

EXMOOR AND THE EAST LYN RIVER - Watersmeet & Lynmouth
I decided to see if I could manage the walk from Lynmouth to Watersmeet and back. The walk up alongside the East Lyn River is tarmacked and level to start off with but soon becomes a much rougher surface. The path follows the coarse of the river all the way up to Watersmeet where there is a National Trust tea room and toilets. Please check to see if they are open as it was closed when I arrived there.
All along the way there are stunning waterfalls and there is also another walk that takes you up and through the more wooded walks.
