Watublapi Weaving Village
Noel hamming it up with the Watublapi Village dancers, we had such good fun here!
The village put on a terrific show and demonstrated the step-by-step the process of fine traditional ikat weaving.
The demonstrations are held in the shade of large trees in a natural setting (bring personal insect repellent for mozzies).
Watublapi village is one of the few who still use traditional handspun yarn made out of local cotton, as well
make their own natural dyes. I have a beautiful piece of ikat from here, made by one of the men, I love it!
Well worth visiting this village on the way to or from Maurmere.
