Saba Dive SItes - No.2 Third Encounter - Dutch Caribbean
Mooring Depth: 95 feet (130m)
Maximum Depth: 110 feet (35m)
Voted “One of the 10 Best Dive Sites” by Sport Diver magazine in July 2008, the award winning color photo by Mauricio Handler can be purchased exclusively at Sea Saba. Located at the eastern end of the horseshoe shaped seamount, this dive can be conducted completely on top of the plateau or with a short trip out into the deep blue to the tip of the Eye of the Needle that rises majestically up from the deep to within 90 feet of the surface. It's common to encounter Caribbean Reef Sharks and Yellowtail Snappers along the edge of the outcrops where the plankton rich water reaches the plateau and schools of shallow reef fish abound. Keep your eyes peeled for our friendly Nassau Grouper “Charlie” as you venture out to The Needle which you will find surrounded by schools of Creole Wrasse and Creole Fish. On the way back to the plateau, explore the seamount for sleeping Nurse Sharks. Be sure to look out into the blue as you make your ascent; more Manta Rays have delighted divers on their safety stop more than once.

SABA Island ~ Epic Caribbean Travels at its BEST ~ WeBeYachting.com
This video is of our epic day on the Island of SABA. We board the 9h00 hight speed ferry with flat calm weather. Spend the day visiting and returned to Sint Maarten on the 15h30 ferry.
I would like to extend a special thanks to our awesome guide & driver Mr. George (Who is also the owner of the Midway Bar). Cheers!
Saba is a Caribbean island and the smallest special municipality (officially public body) of the Netherlands.[4] It consists largely of the potentially active volcano Mount Scenery. Saba has a land area of 13 square kilometers (5.0 sq mi). As of January 2013, the population was 1,991 inhabitants, with a population density of 150 inhabitants per square kilometre (390/sq mi).[1] Its towns and major settlements are The Bottom (the capital), Windwardside, Hell's Gate and St. Johns.
AIRPORT: In 1963, Saba residents built the Juancho E. Yrausquin Airport. This 400-metre (1,300 ft) landing strip is reputed to be the shortest commercial runway in the world, and is restricted. Only trained pilots flying small STOL airliners, such as the Twin Otter and the Britten-Norman Islander may land there, as well as helicopters. Consistent air service from Sint Maarten and Sint Eustatius is available through Winair.

Hiking the Mount Scenery Trail - Saba, Dutch Caribbean
Come with us as we hike The Mount Scenery Trail, one of Saba Island's most popular hikes. With great views and a stout, but relatively short hike, this trail is a popular day-trip from St. Martin as well as a highlight of many longer visits to this Dutch island.
Learning to Travel, is a travel video & social media company formed by Joyce & Daryle Dickens to help others identify and realize their dreams of “traveling more”. After years of “traveling more” talk with too little action, we finally went all-in on a life-changing 14-month journey to 23 countries and 23 US states. Since then, we’ve heard far too many people say “I wish I could do that” which has made us realize that most people need a little push to believe their travel dreams are possible and a little guidance to turn those dreams into reality. That inspiration and guidance is what is all about.
Hiking Saba Island | Sandy Cruz Trail
The Sandy Cruz Trail on the Caribbean island of Saba is a moderate hike on the upper slopes of Mount Scenery that is shaded by rainforest vegetation and offers views of the ocean far below. End this one-way hike at Queen's Garden Resort with a drink and a relaxing view.
