Wellington Lake is situated into Cantonment area of Coonoor, Ooty, Tamilnadu, India. It is a beautiful place for boating and nature lovers. Evening fountains are also one of its attractions. The Defence Service Staff College (DSSC) and the Madras Regimental Centre (MRC) takes care of this lake. At this lake one can enjoy boating at very little cost of Rs. 100 for 4 members.

We enjoyed the day with alots of things. We never expected these things. We just gone to travel in toy train. But we didn't get the train at morning 6.30AM.The train starts at 7.10AM. So we decided to go to conoor and will come back in toy train. We had an awesome experience in toy train. It was a good experience in toy train. We saw 16 black tunnels and many bridges.

What's 8 Market?
On the second sunday of every month, between 8am and 8pm, sleepy little Coonoor in Tamil Nadu, comes alive with this monthly street market.
. . .
So why am I this thrilled about a village market? To be honest, that's mostly because nothing much happens in this tiny town and 8 Market is an event to look forward to. However, and more importantly, it's like going on a treasure hunt. You can find amazing things at throwaway prices.

So what are the things that make 8 Market such a treasure hunt? It's the export surpluses from the ancient town of Karur which is now a major home textile export hub in Tamil Nadu with a turnover of over US$300 million per year. It caters to brands such as Walmart, Target, IKEA, JC Penny and many more. Thankfully, at the 8 Market, curtains with big eyelets come for Rs 100-150 and sheer ones for just Rs 50. There are piles of fabulous linen, some are embroidered and crocheted, all gorgeously designed. Tablecloths, bed linen, cushion covers, curtains, towels, mats, runners, pillows and pretty items to tempt a shopaholic.

In another section of the market there is stuff from Tirupur, a town known for its hosiery and knitwear exports. They bring garments from the export surplus market, with branded items priced between Rs 50 and Rs 70. It is cheaper than even Sarojini Market in Delhi.
Oh! what fun to dig though those piles for the most amazing finds from some of the world's largest retailers such as Walmart, Primark, Switcher, Polo Ralph Lauren, Diesel, Tommy Hilfiger, M&S, FILA, H&M, Reebok, Next, Gap and so on.
In invigorating climes of the Nilgiris, you can shop and shop but not drop - which I certainly did.

1.Nilgiri Mountain Railway
The Nilgiri Mountain Railway is a 1,000 mm metre gauge railway in Tamil Nadu, India, built by the British in 1908, and is operated by the Southern Railway. NMR is the only rack railway in India. The railway relies on its fleet of steam locomotives.
2.Doddabetta
Doddabetta is the highest mountain in the Nilgiri Hills at 2,637 metres. There is a reserved forest area around the peak. It is 9 km from Ooty, on the Ooty-Kotagiri Road in the Nilgiris district of Tamil Nadu, India.
3.Sim's Park, Coonoor
Sim's Park is in Coonoor, The Nilgiris, Tamil Nadu. It is an important tourist place to visit in Coonoor, at a height of 1780 meters above mean sea level.
4.Catherine Falls
Catherine Falls is a double-cascaded waterfall located in Kotagiri, The Nilgiris District, Tamil nadu and it is also a major tourist spot in Kotagiri, located on the Mettupalayam road branching off at Aravenu.
5.Dolphin's Nose
Dolphin's Nose Viewpoint is a tourist spot in Coonoor, The Nilgiris District, Tamil Nadu. Dolphin's Nose is well over 1,000 feet above sea level, 10 km from Coonoor and is a spectacular spot to visit.
6.Kattery park
Kattery park. The State Horticulture Farm, Kattery, Coonoor was established during the year 1975-96 as per G.O.Ms. No.1486 Agri.Dept 24.09.75 and was taken over by the Department under compulsory acquisition from 01.08.1987 Onwards. The farm is hired from a private sector and started to cultivate high yielding vegetable seeds. During the period of 1976 to 1981 the farm is named has Vegetable and Seeds Production Centre (VSPC).
7.Tiger Hill
One of the most mesmerizing destinations in Ooty is the Tiger Hill. This exotic spot lies to the east of the hill station and towards the lower end of the Doddabetta.
8.Wellington Lake
Wellington Lake is situated into Cantonment area of Coonoor, Ooty, Tamilnadu, India. It is a beautiful place with good ambiance and a children's park.
9.Ralliah Dam
Ralliah dam is located close to the Wellington road, which is around 9km from Coonoor.It's hidden in the forest, from parking area you need to trek 1 km to reach that dam since there is no proper road for vehicles. Ralliah dam is one of the tourist spots near Coonoor.
10.Katary Water Falls
Katary Falls is approximately 10 km from Coonoor in the Nilgiris district in the state of Tamil Nadu, India. At 55 metres (180 ft) in height, Katary Falls is third largest waterfall in the Nilgiris and one can reach it by trecking.

Most Beautiful Murugan Temple in Wellington Coonoor Ooty
I went to coonoor this summer and as well as went to wellington murugan temple. It’s nearby Madras Regimental Centre (MRC). It’s not build like an ordinary temple structure. Its different building structure and the prayers also different. You can go into the temple and sit in the mat and start your prayer. You can sit as long as to meditate or prayer and come out with piece of mind.
