Exploring the Collie River, Wellington NP, Western Australia
Fit4adventures recently visited the town of #Collie and the Wellington National Park to explore all the outdoors activities she had to offer. We were blown away out how truly adventurous the area is and so hiked, mountain biked, 4wd'd and paddled to our hearts content.
After a few drinks with some locals and a meeting with the Shire of Collie, we learned that there is so much more coming to Collie and becoming a very exciting time for the town and local area.
Collie and the Wellington National Park will be the place to keep your eye on in 2018. Brand new trails, events and activities to come.

Potters Gorge Campsite Wellington Dam near Collie
Potters George Campsite Wellington Dam Western Australia (WA).Dpaw campsite on the banks of Wellington Dam near Collie about 200km from Perth and great for a weekend away.About 2 hours Drive from Perth heading South. Wellington Dam in a shady Jarrah and Marri forest setting. This FAB area is a spacious campground boasting 55 individual sites contained within three loops that caters for small, medium and large campervans or caravans and RV. Many of the individual sites have their own tent pads making it easy to have another option whilst staying here. Walk paths provide easy access around the site with mobility impaired visitors being catered for also to a number of the sites and facilities. Each loop features a double cubicle toilet and new picnic shelters house double gas barbecues and are conveniently located for all campers. A feature of the new site is the mountain bike pump track which offers another activity for families, whilst fishing, canoeing and bushwalking remain very popular activities here.
Adjacent access to the Sika Trail offers a convenient way to go mountain biking or walking also linking many of the trails in the Park, as well as to the Kiosk which offers refreshments and food.
A completely redesigned day use area features similar shelters and barbecues, plenty of car parking, information for the area and stunning vistas across the dam and surrounding forest areas. I had a FAB stay here.
CRYSTAL BLUE LAKE || Black Diamond and Honeymoon Pool, Collie WA
♥♥♥Follow me through our adventures in Collie, Western Australia♥♥♥
Honeymoon Pool is a campsite, swimming spot and day use area by the Collie River. You’ll find it deep in the dense old-growth jarrah forest of Wellington National Park, down in the lower Collie River Valley along narrow winding roads.
Black Diamond Lake is a beautiful, crystal clear lake which was once an open cut coal mine. On a bright sunny day, it shines a vibrant blue colour.

LENNARD TRACK AND LENNARD HILL WELLINGTON NATIONAL PARK: 4 wheel driving southwest western Australia
Lennard track is a truly one of the most amazing off road tracks in the south west of western Australia. Hidden in the Wellington nation park approximation 2 and half hours south of Perth it is well worth the visit. 4wd southwest community visit Lennards track regularly and it not hard to see why, with so much breath taking scenery you will find your self in absolute zen as you drive the first section following the Preston river and for the mad 4x4 driver the second half of the track offers the Lennard Hill climb which in my opinion really gets the blood pumping with the mother of all hill climbs, this section can be bypassed with you are not up to the challenge. If you want to stay in the area theirs camp ground around the park and lots to see like: The Rapids, Big Rock, Little Rock and of course the Wellington dam plus a lot more. So if this is your thing watch the video and enjoy.

In this video we go on a day trip to the Collie area and take on the Lennard Road Track in our Toyota Prado 90 Series. We stop for lunch at Wellington Dam and I nearly lose my drone in a confrontation with an annoyed eagle.
