Places to see in ( Llandrindod Wells - UK )
Llandrindod Wells is a town and community in Powys, within the historic boundaries of Radnorshire, Wales. Llandrindod Wells serves as the seat of Powys County Council and thus the administrative centre of Powys.
Llandrindod Wells was developed as a spa town in the 19th century, with a boom in the late 20th century as a centre of local government. Before the 1860s the site of the town was common land in Llanfihangel Cefn-llys parish. Llandrindod Wells is the fifth largest town in Powys, and the largest in Radnorshire.
Llandrindod Wells Victorian Festival, known locally as 'Victorian Week', at the end of August, brings many visitors to the town.[citation needed] Many locals and some visitors dress in Victorian, Edwardian or other antique costumes, and many of the town's shops and other high-street businesses dress their windows or otherwise join in the spirit of the event. The festival typically offers open-air and street theatre and music, a fairground, a craft fair, an historical re-enactment, entertainments at the Albert Hall and exhibitions of things old-time.
The architecture of the town of Llandrindod Wells includes many buildings in ornate styles dating from the boom period of the Victorian and Edwardian eras including the Metropole and the Glen Usk hotels, the Albert Hall theatre and former county hall building adjacent to it. There are also buildings in the Art Deco style including two former garages, Pritchard's and the Automobile Palace. The latter was notable for a collection of antique bicycles owned by the proprietor, Tom Norton, which were displayed suspended from ceilings in the building. The building has in recent years been renovated and is now home to several small businesses and the National Cycle Collection, featuring some of the bicycles originally displayed in the garage.
The largest of the town's hotels are the Metropole (with 120 bedrooms of 4 star standard, an indoor swimming pool and leisure centre), the Glen Usk and the Commodore. The Hotel Metropole's swimming pool used to be open-air and was open to the public when it was the only pool in the town, but a public pool is available now at the sports centre attached to the local comprehensive school. A hotel in the scenic Rock Park has not survived, and various cafes and restaurants have come and gone over the years leaving a handful of establishments currently operating.

An amusement arcade (often referred to as video arcade or simply arcade) is a venue where people play arcade games such as video games, pinball machines, electro-mechanical games, redemption games, merchandisers (such as claw cranes), or coin-operated billiards or air hockey tables. In some countries, some types of arcades are also legally permitted to provide gambling machines such as slot machines or pachinko machines. Games are usually housed in cabinets. The term used for ancestors of these venues in the beginning of the 20th century was penny arcades.Video games were introduced in amusement arcades in the late 1970s and were most popular during the golden age of arcade video games, the early 1980s. Arcades became popular with children and particularly adolescents, which led parents to be concerned that video game playing might cause them to skip school.

Video Game Arcade Tours - Ticket Palace (Wells-next-the-Sea, UK)
This arcade used to be pretty good back in the day. They had bingo on the left, and an American diner on the right also. Today, the bingo is gone, the American Diner is now a chip shop and the arcade has plunged into a redemption pit. It's really sad and upsetting to see! This arcade has no internet presence, so see it here first!

Many of the arcades in the UK (Mainly seaside arcades) are called Amusement Arcades. They are typically packed with redemption-based machines with very few video games (As video games simply do not make money). I have placed the word Amusements in the title for these types of places as they are not true Video Game Arcades, but deserve some sort of mention. As gambling is legal in the UK, they tend to include fruit machines (aka slot machines) and various other things money-making games, so video games really take a back seat in places like these. They also really hate filming, I'm not sure why because it's free advertising, unless dodgy things are taking place lol

Places to see in ( Heathfield - UK )
Places to see in ( Heathfield - UK )
Heathfield is a small, affluent market town in East Sussex, England. Heathfield lies near the junction of two main roads: the A267 between Tunbridge Wells and Eastbourne; and the A265 from Hawkhurst. It is almost equidistant from Tunbridge Wells and Eastbourne: approximately 16 mi (26 km).
Historically, Heathfield lay on an ancient trackway (The Ridgeway), connecting the South Downs with the Weald. Its market charter was granted in February 1316 during the reign of Edward II. The Wealden iron brought prosperity to the town during the 16th/17th centuries; the coming of the railway (the Cuckoo Line) in 1880 gave it another new lease of life. The latter was not a financial success and the branch line between Eridge and Polegate closed in 1968. The trackbed is now named the Cuckoo Trail, part of the National Cycle Network. The original village — Old Heathfield — is now only part of the town, which has expanded over time.
The parish church in Heathfield is dedicated to All Saints: an example of a Harmer terracotta decorated gravestone is in the churchyard. The town is the home of Heathfield Park Cricket Club, formed in 1878, and enjoying one of the most scenic positions of any cricket ground in Sussex.
The nearby mansion of Heathfield Park dates from the seventeenth century. In a corner of the estate stands a memorial named the Gibraltar Tower. To the north-east, on the edge of the parish, Braylsham Castle is a modern house begun in 1993, built in imitation of a moated medieval manor house, complete with working drawbridge. Approximately one mile from the town is the Heathfield transmitting station, a 135 m high mast which broadcasts TV and radio signals to East and West Sussex, as well as parts of south Kent.
The town holds an annual fair named the Heffle Cuckoo Fair each April, the annual Heathfield show takes place each May in the summer. Heathfield is the home of Heathfield Community College and several primary schools. Opposite the college is a leisure centre. There is an Anglo/French market called Le Marché held every year on the August Bank Holiday and a fair that visits during the Summer. There is a fairly large football field and beside it a little playground. At Cross-in-Hand there is a rugby club for adults and children.

Maya's Swimming Lesson at Pendle Leisure Centre Colne
Throughout July 2BR is launching its Swim Safe campaign.
We've teamed up with Air Rescue 24 and 'Doing it for Dylan' to raise funds to improve education and get vital equipment to help save lives across Lancashire.
In the past 3 years Lancashire Fire and Rescue service have been called out to 60 water rescues. Nationally, accidental drowning causes more than 400 deaths a year -- it is the third highest cause of death in children in the UK.
Throughout this month we'll hear from different people involved with the campaign and see the devastating impact open water swimming has had on one family from Lancashire.
We need your help to raise cash for an interactive truck that will tour Lancashire's schools to raise awareness of the dangers of swimming in open water and help save lives.
You can follow us throughout the month on air and online and support us at Pendle Wavelengths, West Craven Sports Centre & Colne sports Centre click here for more details.
