Wentworth Falls Redfin Fishing
Hello guys, in todays video I went fishing at Wentworth falls lake for Redfin. Redfin are a class 1 noxious pest and must be killed immediately hence why I killed them.
Redfin were brought over to Australia from Europe (where they are called Perch) as a sports fish for European anglers who wished to continue fishing for their personal favourite fish, and for their great eating qualities.
Redfin were gradually spread around the country even when the laws were implemented to punish those who transport live Redfin. This meant that they were spread around from river system to lake to pond. Redfin were discovered at Lithgow and in Wetworth falls lake a few years ago and since then their numbers have exploded making them fun fish to target for almost guaranteed Fish.

There have been quite a few improvements made to the picnic area at Wentworth Falls Lake. The two shown here are the lake viewing platform (at the western end) and the toilet facilities (centre).
There has been a lot of work done on quality signage as well.

Wentworth Falls Lake is one of the many pleasant places you can visit in the upper Blue Mountains of NSW. It's possible to walk right around the lake, though a few sign posts would make it easier!

Today's walk (which took me about 1.5 hours) leads down from The Conservation Hut at Wentworth Falls to Empress Falls in the Valley of the Waters. This is as far as you can go, since the continuation of the track to the National Pass and the Wentworth Pass was closed due to a serious - and fatal- rockfall about a year ago.
This historic walk is very popular. I was fortunate because it was a mild and cloudless summer day and I met very few other walkers. It will not be like that on a weekend.

You'll enjoy this lovely spot in Wentworth Falls. It's the old railway dam on Jamison Creek. This is the only creek crossed by the railway line between Emu Plains and Lithgow, so it became an important water source in the days of steam engines.
The place is well supplied with picnic spots and children's play areas. There is provision for boating and fishing.
It's on the opposite side of the railway from the Great Western Highway - turn right at the traffic lights at the shops, if coming from Sydney. It's then first to the left after the crossing the railway line.

Wentworth Falls Lake
We met some nice Brits today at Wentworth Falls Lake who are here in Australia on two year working visas. A Geordie, a Glaswegian and others who (helped by Kayvan) enjoyed splashing in the water. Wentworth Falls is a village in the Blue Mountains northwest of Sydney, famed for its spectacular views to sandstone cliffs and blue valleys, and also for Wentworth Falls itself, which plunges 1000 ft into the valley. This video is for families and friends. Enjoy!

WENTWORTH FALLS - BUSHWALK // Blue Mountains
Wentworth Falls is one of the most beautiful towns within the Blue Mountains offering possibly the most spectacular bushwalks and views. Originally called ‘Weatherboard’ after the ‘Weatherboard Hut’ built in 1814, one year later the town was named ‘Jamison’s Valley’ by Governor Macquarie. In July 1867 the historic first railway journey in the Blue Mountains left Penrith station and travelled through to Weatherboard Station where the train terminated. It wasn’t until 1879 that the name was changed to Wentworth Falls in honour of William Charles Wentworth, one of the three famous explorers. When travelling from Bullaburra to Wentworth Falls you ascend Boddington Hill.

This video I do all the hikes in Wentworth falls over 2 days then go to the lake and show the village itself. After lots of stairs going up and down and 218 gig of footage I was left with all the best stuff to fit into this video..hope it inspires others to do the walking when they visit the area and not just take ten minutes at the top.
