Exploring Monkmead Wood and golf course in West Chiltington
Today I have teamed up with Cynthia Julian to explore a short piece of woodland that leads to a manicured golf course, hidden away from sight in this area of West Sussex inhabited by large houses and millionaires.
We are in Monkmead Woods in West Chiltington where soldier camped in the second world war and fairly recently a grenade was discovered by a dog walker. Sadly for us, the weather turned nasty and we had to stop filming, but we managed a few hundred yards through the heather and sand. I hope you enjoy it.

Bald Explorer: A look at West Chiltington Church
Richard Suggett joins me today to have a look at West Chiltington Church as they commemorate 100 years of the end of the First World War. Members of Richard's family are buried in the churchyard and a small exhibit in the nave gives details of his ancestor's exploits during that troubled period.
A flower festival is also taking place, so join us for our brief poke about the church.

The Curse of St Peter's at Treyford in West Sussex Explored
The spooky location in today's video is a churchyard with no church. I am joined by local historian Andrew Shaxson who explains the incredible and baffling history of St Peter's church at Treyford in West Sussex.
Little remains of the commodious Victorian edifice that was erected to replace three so-called 'mean' little churches. Although new and enormous, this newer church was ill-fated and lasted only 101 years. A fascinating story indeed.

Walks in England: Exploring Ely in Cambridgeshire
Today, my guides Simon and Sharon Brown take me to the fabulous city of Ely in Cambridgeshire. We are here to explore what is sometime described as the Ship of the Fens, the amazing Ely Cathedral.
The cathedral has its origins in AD 672 when St Etheldreda built an abbey church. The present building dates back to 1083, and cathedral status was granted it in 1109.

In Search of Old Brambletye Manor near Forest Row
The original moated manor at Brambletye dates back to the Doomsday book and if you care to look on an OS map you'll find the moat still there. In 1631 a newer house was built a little to the east; a larger grand, ostentatious house, but sadly it didn't last very long and now little remains. However what there is still impressive.
Julia Hartley and I take a walk to find it, crossing the old East Grinstead, Groombridge and Tunbridge Wells railway line which now, thanks to Sir Richard Beeching, is a delightful footpath.

Walks in England: From Stopham Bridge to the Toat Monument Pt1
Today's walk is in West Sussex. My friend Richard Suggett from the Veg Grower Podcast and I start our walk on Stopham Bridge which crosses the river Arun near Pulborough. Our aim to get close to the Toat Monument, a a Grade II listed folly erected by Samuel Drinkwater 1827, which is on private land. To do so we shall pass the old motte and bailey castle location used by the Normans in 1066/7 known locally as Park Mount and a Second World War gun emplacement.
