Learning To Thrive | 100 Miles Along The West Highland Way
The West Highland Way runs for 96 miles from Milngavie to Fort William, travelling through some of the most stunning landscapes in Scotland. It passes alongside lochs and rivers, travels through forest and moorlands, explores countless historical sites, and encompasses mountains of all scales, including Ben Nevis, the highest mountain in the UK.
Abbie set out to walk the trail in May 2018, retracing her route taken in 2012 when she walked the trail as her first long-distance route at the age of 16. Through this film, she reveals the realities of life on the trail, from dealing with swarms of midges to avoiding large groups of sightseers, but along the way rediscovers what it means to thrive.

Der West Highland Way: Wandern in Schottland

West Highland Way - Scotland
In march 2012 I went to Scotland to walk the West Highland Way, a 153km hike from Glasgow to Fort William. We ended up hiking 173km which included a side walk to the Ben Nevis, Scotland's highest mountain.
Despite the extra weight I took along my 7D, some lenses and a DIY camera slider. Before departure i just finished building the slider and wanted to test it in Scotland. It's not perfect yet, but the footage shows the effect I was aiming for.
