Spill of Dam into Montreal River (Ont) Gorge near Hwy 17 (Trans-Canada)
The local people have not seen a spill as great as this one in a long time and it is really impressive. The spill of water is deliberate to lower the level of the artificial lakes above the dams on the river. The flow of water from the river into Lake Superior is evident a long distance from the mouth of the river.

IMPRESSIONS OF MONTREAL RIVER HARBOUR ALGOMA AND ENVIRONS
The river begins at Montreal Lake at the community of Island Lake in northwest Sudbury District. It heads southwest, passes into Algoma District, reaches the 40-kilometre (25 mi) forebay lake above Montreal Falls, and then the settlement and railway station of Montreal Falls themselves on the Algoma Central Railway. It heads west, and passes under Ontario Highway 17 just before reaching its mouth at Lake Superior at the community of Montreal River Harbour.
Hydroelectricity[edit]
There are four hydroelectric dams and generating stations on the Montreal River, all owned and operated by Brookfield Renewable Power. In upstream order, they are Andrews Generating Station (57.78 MW; head of 57.78 m or 189.6 ft; next to Highway 17);[1] Hogg Generating Station (17.4 MW; head of 24 m or 79 ft);[2] Gartshore Generating Station (23 MW; head of 35 m or 115 ft);[3] and MacKay Generating Station, at Montreal Falls (62 MW; head of 75.3 m or 247 ft).[4] WIKIPEDIA

Sultan Industrial Road (Eddy Match Road) - Westbound
-Date: May 25, 2018
-Vehicle: 2007 Dodge Caliber
-Location: Northern Ontario
-Length: 80 Km
Leaving the Watershed off Highway 144, we make our way towards Chapleau, Ontario via the notorious Sultan Industrial Road (known locally as Eddy Match Road). Sultan Industrial road gets its formal name from its Western terminus located at Highway 667 in Sultan, Ontario. This unpaved 80 Km logging trail is also used by the public which creates a 200 Km shortcut between Sudbury and Chapleau. Without this road, travellers would have to travel North for another 100 km on Highway 144 towards Timmins and backtrack another 100 km Southwest on Highway 101 to Chapleau.
Eddy Match road is known for its high number of accidents and collisions with animals. Weather conditions can significantly alter the state and safety of the road for travel. We were lucky that during our time travelling/filming, the road was in unusually good condition and didn't cause much wear and tear on our vehicle. On a regular day, this road is littered with large pot holes and washboards. Though the posted speed limit is 70 km/h, logging trucks regularly travel in excess of 110 km/h.
For decades, local residents/politicians have advocated to have the road paved and recognised as an Ontario provincial highway. The plan to pave the road was scrapped in the late '90s by the Ontario Government. Unfortunately, there are no plans in the foreseeable future to have the road paved. Eddy Match road could also act as a 130 km shortcut between Sudbury and Wawa, and could provide and alternate route during closures of Highway 17 along the Montreal River Hill segment.
Duncan Lake 2016
Duncan Lake in the West Kootenays, BC, is an amazing quadding area. You can travel north along Duncan Lake for about 40km, then another 40 along the Duncan River, and 40?km after that, where you are supposed reach the valley that turns left towards Butters Lake but we didn't do the last 1/3 of the trip. The valley eventually ends up in Glacier National Park but there are no trails up that way. All of this is done in a straight rift valley that goes north-south all day long. The road is excellent, fast and very quiet. We didn't meet any other riders the whole day. From about the 80 km mark (the left turn bridge we turned around at) you can see the Razor's Edge and Mount Templeman. Oh yeah, carry spare gas...

Moose Tag Reduction in WMU 28
The Ministry of Natural Resources has just announced that moose tags will be cut by 18% across the province. In some areas, like wildlife management unit 28, commonly known as the Kirkland Lake unit, tags have been cut from 457 to 30, a staggering 93%.
