Katikati ‘New Zealand’s Mural Town' - Bay of Plenty, New Zealand
The rural town of Katikati was founded by settlers from Ulster in Ireland, but the district was populated by Maori long before Europeans arrived.
In recent years, Katikati has called itself the ‘mural town’. More than 35 works of art in and around the main street - murals, sculptures and carvings - pay homage to the town's early Maori and pioneer residents, and its timber milling and farming heritage. There is also a magnificent tribute to the men and women who left the district to fight in overseas wars. You can pick up a mural guide map from the information centre.
Katikati is also home to a 'Haiku Pathway', boasting the largest collection of Haiku’s outside of Japan.
The local museum documents the growth of the town with photographs and displays of artefacts. Boutique arts and crafts galleries and, in harvest time, roadside stalls overflowing with fresh produce, are a delightful distraction.

Katikati’s Haiku Pathway in 4K, Bay of Plenty, New Zealand
Katikati’s Haiku Pathway – one of New Zealand’s Millennium Projects – is the largest collection of haiku 'stones' outside Japan and the only haiku pathway in the Southern Hemisphere.
Officially opened in June 2000 with 24 engraved boulders, the pathway by the end of 2007 had 30 poem boulders, with more planned.
The pathway meanders along both sides of the Uretara Stream just behind the town’s main street and is popular with locals, as well as national and international visitors. It is a tranquil spot in the heart of a bustling, country town and features a specially designed footbridge across the stream.

The epitome of NZ dairy.
Welcome to Old Taupo Road, Putaruru. This large scale trophy Waikato dairy unit comprises more or less 409 hectares and is located in the Putaruru district, a highly-regarded and reliable dairy province.
Oxford farm has been developed to an outstanding level with a range of improvements, unequaled in the industry. These include a state of the art 64-bale rotary dairy, housed in a comprehensive structure that includes an office, boardroom, two kitchens, bathrooms, staff meeting room, computer room, systems room plus many more features. There’s a vast range of support buildings, including implement sheds, purpose built calf sheds, workshop and five hay barns.

► WHO AM I?
Short answer: I am a Brazilian journalist living in the United States. After traveling the world working with sports, news, and events for over 15 years, I realized that what I really love is the travel part of it all. So I exchanged life in the newsrooms and stadiums for the daily challenge of being an independent content producer. I created this channel to share the beauties of the world... stuff that for so long I only kept to myself. Also to help people planning similar trips and to inspire more people to venture out and enjoy life!
Detailed answer: ????
P.S.: The guy who occasionally appears in the vlogs is my husband, Gordon. He is Canadian-American and is extremely camera shy, that's why he's behind the camera most of the time ;-)

How to Deliver a Baby: Police Officer Training Film (Video of Live Birth)
In human reproduction, a live birth occurs when a fetus, whatever its gestational age, exits the maternal body and subsequently shows any sign of life, such as voluntary movement, heartbeat, or pulsation of the umbilical cord, for however brief a time and regardless of whether the umbilical cord or placenta are intact.
This definition of the term live birth was created by the World Health Organization in 1950 and is chiefly used for public health and statistical purposes. Whether the birth is vaginal or by Caesarean section, and whether the neonate is ultimately viable, is not relevant to this statistical definition. However, the term live birth was in common use long before 1950.
In the United States, the term born alive is defined by federal statute.
Childbirth, labour, delivery, birth, partus, or parturition is the culmination of a human pregnancy or gestation period with the expulsion of one or more newborn infants from a woman's uterus. The process of normal human childbirth is categorized in three stages of labour: the shortening and dilation of the cervix, descent and birth of the infant, and birth of the placenta.[1] In many cases, with increasing frequency, childbirth is achieved through caesarean section, the removal of the neonate through a surgical incision in the abdomen, rather than through vaginal birth.[2] In the U.S. and Canada it represents nearly 1 in 3 (31.8%) of all childbirths.[3] More than 22% of women undergo induction of labour and childbirth in the United States, doubling the rate in 2006 from 1990.[4] Medical professional policy makers find that induced births and elective cesarean can be harmful to the fetus and neonate as well as harmful or without benefit to the mother, and have established strict guidelines for non-medically indicated induced births and elective cesarean before 39 weeks.[5] There are, however a number of health conditions that may warrant inducing labour, some examples of when labour induction may be indicated include gestational or chronic hypertension, preeclampsia, eclampsia, diabetes, premature rupture of membranes, severe fetal growth restriction, and post-term pregnancy. Cesarean section too may be of benefit to both the mother and baby for certain indications including maternal HIV/AIDS, Foetal abnormality, breech position, foetal distress, multiple gestations, and maternal medical conditions which would be worsened by labour or vaginal birth.
Childbirth routinely occurs in hospitals in much of Western society. Before the 20th century and in some countries to the present day it has more typically occurred at home.[66]
In Western and other cultures, age is reckoned from the date of birth, and sometimes the birthday is celebrated annually. East Asian age reckoning starts newborns at 1, incrementing each Lunar New Year.
Some families view the placenta as a special part of birth, since it has been the child's life support for so many months. The placenta may be eaten by the newborn's family, ceremonially or otherwise (for nutrition; the great majority of animals in fact do this naturally).[67] Most recently there is a category of birth professionals available who will encapsulate placenta for use as placenta medicine by postpartum mothers.
The exact location in which childbirth takes place is an important factor in determining nationality, in particular for birth aboard aircraft and ships.

London-Birmingham: First time riding a train in the UK
London-Birmingham is a very common route of train in the UK. The train departs London Euston station and after several stops arrives at Birmingham New Street.
Virgin has the fastest trains, but we purchased our tickets with Chiltern, as they had better prices. The trip was about 1 hour longer, but the train was comfortable and had free wifi.
Birmingham is the first city we will visit in the UK. It will be featured in the next vlog.

Warwick Castle - UK travel - We slept on the castle grounds!
Warwick Castle (UK) is an 11th-century castle in Warwick, England (Warwickshire, more precisely). It's among the most well preserved old English castles, and there's a ton of things to do there. This vlog is part of a UK travel series:
In this video, you will see the trebuchet, the armory, the State Rooms, the views from the top of the castle and learn a little bit of the history. We even sleep in a lodge in the Knight's Village on the castle grounds!
Warwick, UK was an Anglo-Saxon 'burh' in the 9th-10th centuries, and Warwick Castle was established in 1068 during the Norman conquest of England.

Secret War in Laos Documentary Film: Laotian Civil War and U.S. Government Involvement
The Laotian Civil War (1953--75) was a fight between the Communist Pathet Lao (including many North Vietnamese of Lao ancestry, and the Royal Lao Government in which both the political rightists and leftists received heavy external support for a proxy war from the global Cold War superpowers. Among United States Central Intelligence Agency Special Activities Division US and Hmong veterans of the conflict, it is known as the Secret War.[8]
The Kingdom of Laos was a covert theatre for battle for the other belligerents during the Vietnam War. The Franco--Lao Treaty of Amity and Association signed 22 October 1953, transferred remaining French powers -- except control of military affairs -- to the Royal Lao Government -- which did not include any representatives from the Lao Issara anti-colonial armed nationalist movement[9] — and otherwise establishing Laos as an independent member of the French Union.[10]
The following years were marked by a rivalry between the neutralists under Prince Souvanna Phouma, the right wing under Prince Boun Oum of Champassak, and the left-wing Lao Patriotic Front under Prince Souphanouvong and future Prime Minister Kaysone Phomvihane. A number of attempts were made to establish coalition governments, and a tri-coalition government was finally seated in Vientiane.
The fighting in Laos involved the North Vietnamese Army, American, Thai, and South Vietnamese forces directly and through irregular proxies in a battle for control over the Laotian Panhandle. The North Vietnamese Army occupied the area for use as the Ho Chi Minh Trail supply corridor and staging area for offensives into South Vietnam. There was a second major theatre of action on and near the northern Plaine des Jarres.
The North Vietnamese and Pathet Lao emerged victorious in 1975, as part of the general communist victory in Indochina that year.
