Mike Beck sings an original song, In Old California, at the 2019 Gathering. He'll return to Elko for our 20th event - see him in the California Dreaming show on january 30, 2020. Elko is the largest city and county seat of Elko County, Nevada, United States. The population was 18,297 at the 2010 census. The city straddles the Humboldt River.
Elko is the principal city of the Elko Micropolitan Statistical Area, a micropolitan area that covers Elko and Eureka counties and had a combined population of 48,594 at the 2010 census. It is the largest city for over 130 miles in all directions, making it, as its city motto states, The Heart of Northeast Nevada.

A survey of the occupations and crafts on the Duck Valley Indian Reservation by filmmaker Talliah Hanchor, a 12-year old 7th grader (in 2015) at the Owyhee Combined School.
This team of five first-time filmmakers, all from the Owyhee Combined School, Duck Valley Indian Reservation, Owyhee, NV, wrote their own scripts and were intimately involved in the production of each other’s films, from developing project ideas to lighting, filming, and booming/recording sound for all productions. Together they paint a portrait of their community.
The films premiered at the 2015 National Cowboy Poetry Gathering for audiences of 200+. Screening 1- January 30, 2015, Screening 2 - January 31, 2015, Elko, NV.
