The Magic of Christmas in Kinsale
While this is a wonderful life, the holidays often find us far away from, not only friends and family, but the wonderful people we meet on our journey. As we spend this winter in the blustery Western Isles of Scotland, our thoughts turn to years past. To those of you we've met (either online or in person!) and to those of you we have yet to meet...we wish you a peaceful Christmas. ⛄️ ???? Safe travels and fair winds from Drake and Monique.

Road To Liverpool
Travelling towards Liverpool, Nova Scotia. We stop at LaHave. Then we look around in the town area of Liverpool; including the old Liverpool Town Hall (now the Sherman Hines Museum of Photography). We stop by at the Fort Point Lighthouse - the third oldest surviving lighthouse in Nova Scotia. Finally, we end along the Mersey River and the Morton House Inn Bed & Breakfast.

Retire in Liverpool NS - Sand in Your Shoes
Liverpool is situated on Nova Scotia's south shore where the Atlantic Ocean laps its shores and is well worth a look. This part of the Region of Queens Municipality provides great beauty; miles of beaches awaits your arrival, four seasons (with the mildest of Maritime winters) amid recreational amenities to suit everyone. Liverpool is a mere hour and a half from Halifax and can be reached by traveling the main highway #103, or for a much more leisurely drive along the coastline on the #3 highway, best known as the Lighthouse Route. It's Regional Hospital has numerous doctors on staff, several dentists are in the town and there is an optomotrist's office. Some consider Liverpool to be the undiscovered gem of the South Shore and noted to be one of Canada's best kept secrets.

Beach House - Western Head, NS
Welcome to Beach House, located in the Western Head, Nova Scotia!
A gorgeous pairing of Style & Setting make this spectacular beach-house with bold oceanfront hard to match. This striking home, and its natural surroundings on 1.3 acres, are in perfect harmony with each other. Every window shows off the stunning views and floods this contemporary open-concept home with natural light.. Immerse yourself in the natural beauty of a cobblestone shoreline with crashing waves and a salt marsh where an ever active wildlife drama unfolds daily, right outside your windows with herons, otters, deer, ducks and an endless array of other birds. Outside, silvery-grey weathered cedar shingles and board & baton siding, hearken the drift wood that washes up on the 400 + ft. cobble beach. Though newly constructed, the sensitive design melds perfectly with the environment as if this home has been a part of this breathtaking landscape for a century or more. The interior is simple and elegant with thoughtful design details. On the main level, the kitchen, dining and living room areas come together as the ideal entertaining environment. The propane wall fireplace, a clever combination of skylights and interior lighting, cathedral ceilings, and a cool color palette set a mood of sophistication and airiness. The main living area flows seamlessly to the outdoors with a large deck. Also on the main level are 2 bedrooms and large 4-piece bath fitted with a refinished antique tub. The upper quarters house a stunning master bedroom with ensuite half-bath and private balcony to take in the sunrise over Scott Bay and the distant Atlantic horizon. Completing the upper level is a loft office/studio space which overlooks the main living area below.Other features include a main level laundry room, a huge and bright foyer with natural stone tile floor and radiant heat. What started as a humble seaside retreat has evolved over the past 10 years to stand as one of the area's most attractive oceanfront homes, conveniently located just minutes from the amenities of Liverpool. Prepare to be impressed.

I made this trip in early October, 2016. Video shot with a Brinno TLC-200 Pro time-lapse camera, mounted on my roof with a homemade magnetic case. I travel with two Brinno cameras - one facing forward, the other in reverse. Sometimes the reverse camera captures better video (fewer raindrops and bugs hit the rear-view lens).
