Visiting the TAJ MAHAL a WORLD WONDER + Day Trip to Fatehpur Sikri | Agra, India
On my fourth day in India I teamed up with Tours by Locals to explore the Taj Mahal and Fatehpur Sikri. Tours by Locals in Agra:
TRAVEL HUSTLE REPEAT GEAR ►
MY FILM MAKING KIT ►
The best way to get to Agra from Delhi is to take the high speed train which is called the Gatiman Express. It take's only 90 minutes to get to Agra. The train runs everyday (except Friday) at 8:10 am.
When I arrived Shanoo my Tours by Locals guide picked me up and took me straight to the Taj Mahal. This is the most beautiful building in the world! It is my 4th wonder and it was truly amazing!
After that we went to Handicraft Marble Industries to see how the same families that made the Taj Mahal still put inlays in to marble. This is definitely a must visit after seeing the Taj Mahal.
Lastly we headed to Fatehpur Sikri a UNESCO World Heritage Site that is located around a 45 minute drive South West of Agra. Fatehpur Sikri was founded as the capital of Mughal Empire in 1571 by Emperor Akbar, serving this role from 1571 to 1585. It was abandoned in 1610. If you have two days in Agra then you have to go visit Fatehpur Sikri!
I hope you loved this video! Have you ever been to the Taj Mahal or any other of the seven wonders of the world or Fatehpur Sikri?

Guide to Rajasthan and the North of India
Wild Frontiers' Jonny Bealby presents a travel guide to Rajasthan and the north of India.
For Wild Frontiers Rajasthan and the North consists of the north-western states of Rajasthan, Gujarat and the Punjab, with Delhi and Agra thrown in for good measure.
Over half of all first time travellers to India visit Rajasthan and for good reason. With a plethora of magnificent monuments, its vibrant cities and fairy-tale heritage of Rajput palaces -- now converted into some of the most atmospheric hotels anywhere in the world -- Rajasthan is arguably India's most colourful state.
First and foremost there is the Golden Triangle; a natural routing that takes you from Delhi, with its great flight connections, through Agra and the essential Taj Mahal to Jaipur, the states capital and one of the most lively and evocative towns in the whole region. From here you can travel southwest through Pushkar, with its famous camel fair, Jodhpur, the Blue City, and on to Udaipur and the Venice of the East.
Or you could head out on the more remote but every bit as romantic desert routing, heading due west our of Delhi on what was one of the southern branches of the Old Silk Road to take in Bikanir, Nagaur and the most famous of all the desert town, Jailsalmer.
But there's also another way to go, to travel on a slower routing through the Rajasthani countryside, staying at some of the States most romantic rural palaces such as at Ramathra, Bhensrorgarh, Deogarh or Castle Bijaipur -- which is where I am now.
This really is quintessential India; the India of our childhood imagination, a calm quiet land where little of modern India appears, a place that is perfect for walking, cycling, riding or just relaxing.
Further afield there is the very under explored and deeply fascinating state of Gujarat. This is a region of fabulous temples, such as the amazing world heritage site at Palitana -- where I was two years back recceying our new trip to the region.
Gujarat is also home to some extraordinary landscapes and wildlife and some of the most diverse and interesting people in the country. Those of you a that are interested in textiles should make a special effort to come here as they are among the best the country, if not the world, can offer.
And finally another fascinating place to squeeze into this region is Amristsar. Holy city to the Sikhs, it is home to the amazing Golden Temple, the infamous Jahwallah Barg and the peculiar but utterly captivating, closing of the gate ceremony at the border with Pakistan. Which is something that has to be seen to be believed!
As I said at the start, most people coming to India will visit Rajasthan and the North -- and for very good reason. It offers everything the first timer or committed Indophile needs to have an amazing Indian experience.
Wild Frontiers has a number of small group tours to Rajasthan and the North, including our classic Taj, Temples and Tigers, our Desert Forts and Palaces and our more offbeat India in Slow Motion and with our experts in our office in London we can design bespoke travel to the region as well.
So come and see this amazing part of India; it'll stay with you forever.

Lakshman Sagar | Rajasthan | An Experiential Hotel
Lakshman Sagar is spread over 32 acres along the man-made lake, the 12 cottages have been meticulously planned and conceptualized with assistance from the vanguards of sustainable design - architects, Vasant & Revathi Kamat and designer duo Sahil & Sarthak. Merging Rajasthani design with eco sensibility, the twelve 900 sq ft mud and stone cottages, supplement the Mardana and Zanana and invoke an experience both private and symbiotic with nature.
Touted as one of the hidden gems of Rajasthan, the picture perfect surrounding of Lakshman Sagar not only make it a perfect romantic destination but also a place to disconnect from the hustle bustle of the city life.
For an authentic local experience, activities such as local liquor tasting, goat herding, nature walks, horse trailing & star gazing or 'in-activities' such as kite flying, watching the sunset by the dam or simply relaxing by the single rock-cut pool are definitely recommended for a memorable holiday.

Jaipur is the capital and largest city of the Indian state of Rajasthan. Jaipur has long been established on tourist itineraries as the third corner of India's Golden Triangle. At its heart, the original city, popularly known as the Pink City, stands enclosed by walls and imposing gateways. Designed for defence, they still physically demarcate it from the sprawling modern suburbs around, while the vibrant bazaars within are renowned for hand-dyed and embroidered textiles and jewellery. The city's population is around 3.1 million.

Dooars are the foothills of eastern Himalayas in North East India. The Place is the gateway to Bhutan from India. Famous for natural beauty it is one of the most popular tourist destinations of West Bengal.
In our opinion it is better to start your journey from Rajabhatkhawa. Rajabhatkhawa is considered as the gateway to Bengal Dooars.
By train reach New Jalpaiguri station or Alipurduar Junction first.
By air reach Bagdogra airport.

From Alipurduar the distance of Rajabhatkhawa is 14.3 Km and it will take 30 mins to reach Rajabhatkhwa from Alipurduar. Taxi fare is Rs 250 approx.

After NJP the train moves through the forests of Dooars to reach Alipurduar. This is one of the best train routes in India and needs a special mention here. In our opinion book kachankanya from Sealdha(Kolkata) to experience this fascinating train route.

Exploring Udaipur I Udaipur Vlog day 1 I Best places for food I City Palace,Fateh sagar Lake etc. I
Hi People,
I visited Udaipur - City of Lakes. Without any doubt, I can say that this is one of the beautiful city one can ever visit.
About Udaipur:
Udaipur, also known as the City of Lakes, is a city in the state of Rajasthan in India. It is the historic capital of the kingdom of Mewar in the former Rajputana Agency. It was founded in 1558 by Maharana Udai Singh II of the Sisodia clan of Rajput, when he shifted his capital from the city of Chittorgarh to Udaipur after Chittorgarh was besieged by Akbar. It remained as the capital city till 1818 when it became a British princely state, and thereafter the Mewar province became a part of Rajasthan when India gained.
It’s set around a series of artificial lakes and is known for its lavish royal residences. City Palace, overlooking Lake Pichola, is a monumental complex of 11 palaces, courtyards and gardens, famed for its intricate peacock mosaics.
How to Reach:
By Air:
The city has its own domestic airport, which is 22 km away from the center of the city. The Maharana Pratap airport gets flights from numerous destinations in India like Mumbai, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Delhi, Hyderabad and others. If you are travelling from an international location, choose to enter India via Delhi or Mumbai airport. Although the nearest international airport is located in Jaipur (Rajasthan)
By Train
The local railway station is located inside the city limits. The Udaipur railway station is connected with almost all cities of Rajasthan and with important cities around the country.
By Bus:
Udaipur bus stand is located inside the city. You can find regular buses from many cities inside Rajasthan and numerous top cities around the country. Buses run to and fro throughout the day. You can find both private and public buses with varying luxury level. The frequency and demand for buses depend on the season.
In this video, I showed up all the places i visited on my very first day i.e. City Palace Museum,Jag Mandir, Fateh Sagar Lake.
1. City palace museum is all about history of Maharanas of Mewar.
City Palace, Udaipur, is a palace complex situated in the city of Udaipur, Rajasthan. It was built over a period of nearly 400 years, with contributions from several rulers of the Mewar dynasty. Its construction began in 1553, started by Maharana Udai Singh II of the Sisodia Rajput family as he shifted his capital from the erstwhile Chittor to the new found city of Udaipur.[1] The palace is located on the east bank of Lake Pichola and has several palaces built within its complex.
2. Jag Mandir is indeed a beautiful palace on Lake Pichola. You can even book your stay prior visiting.
Jag Mandir is a palace built on an island in the Lake Pichola. It is also called the Lake Garden Palace. The palace is located in Udaipur city in the Indian state of Rajasthan. Its construction is credited to three Maharanas of the Sisodia Rajputs of Mewar kingdom. The construction of the palace was started in 1551 by Maharana Amar Singh, continued by Maharana Karan Singh (1620–1628) and finally completed by Maharana Jagat Singh I (1628–1652). It is named as Jagat Mandir in honour of the last named Maharana Jagat Singh. The royal family used the palace as a summer resort and pleasure palace for holding parties. The palace served as a refuge to asylum seekers on two separate occasions.
3. Fateh Sagar Lake- Perfect spot to spend hours and witness beautiful sunset.
About Fateh Sagar Lake:
It is an artificial lake named after Maharana Fateh Singh of Udaipur and Mewar, constructed north-west of Udaipur, to the north of Lake Pichola in the 1680s.
Within the confines of the Fatah Sagar Lake, there are three small islands; the largest of these is the Nehru Park, which is a popular tourist attraction, the second island houses a public park with an impressive water-jet fountain, and the third island is the address for the Udaipur Solar Observatory (USO). The Nehru park is accessible by inboard motor boats. The blue waters of the lake and the backdrop of the green mountains has given the soubriquet of ‘the second Kashmir’ to Udaipur.
