Westfield Trumbull - Raw & Real Retail
This is our walkthrough of the Westfield Trumbull mall in Trumbull, CT from January 22, 2019. This is a big, thriving mall in southern Connecticut. It has an interesting non-traditional design layout. Rather than a square, rectangle, circle, or bent line, the corridors of this mall have been laid out in a pattern more like a square house with an arched roof on its side. The decor is and cozy and has a decent range of color to it. This mall felt good to walk around.

Here is a good article from the Mall Hall of Fame blog:
Construction commenced on the Nutmeg State's first fully-enclosed shopping mall in September 1962. Trumbull Shopping Park was built on a 66 acre site, located 6.7 miles northwest of downtown Bridgeport, in the bedroom community of Trumbull. Developed by Connecticut's Jack Frouge, the 2-level retail facility encompassed 750,000 leasable square feet and 57 stores and services. At its north end was a 3-level anchor structure. A (170,000 square foot) E.J. Korvette discount mart occupied its 2 upper levels. This store held its grand opening November 20, 1963. A Waldbaum's supermarket was situated in the lower level.
The south end of the complex was anchored by a 3-level (220,000 square foot), Bridgeport-based D.M. Read, which was dedicated September 12, 1964. The mall's parking area included a kiddie ride area and freestanding United Artists Trumbull Theatre, its first feature in December 1965.
The first expansion of Trumbull Shopping Park was done in the early 1970s, when a 2-level, north-south corridor was added to the east-facing facade. In 1977, Trumbull Shopping Park was acquired by Westfield Holdings, becoming the first shopping mall in the United States owned by that company.
Westfield did an interior renovation, using a nostalgic Antique Americana theme. Several vintage relics were acquired, such as gas street lamps, church pews, weathered beams, posts and an antique horse carriage. A stairway connecting the Upper and Lower Malls featured railing from the Vanderbuilt mansion on Long Island.
Moreover, state flags were hung from the ceiling of the Constitution Mall, accented by hand-carved state seals and portraits of United States Presidents. Several stores were also retro-remodeled and a large spread of stained glass installed over the mall's Main Entrance. The project was completed in December 1977.
Renovation resumed in the following year. Korvettes and the Waldbaum's were converted into a 3-level (201,000 square ft), Hartford-based G. Fox. It was rebranded by Boston-based Filene's [fiy-leenz] in January 1993.
Meanwhile, a third expansion of Trumbull Shopping Park had been built. Its first phase, a multilevel parking garage, was constructed at the mall's southwest corner and was completed in December 1985. Phase Two added a 2-story West Wing, anchored by a 2-level (154,800 square foot) J.C. Penney. This store held its grand opening May 6, 1987.
Later in 1987, Read's was merged with another Allied Stores division, Boston-based Jordan Marsh. The Jordan's at Trumbull Shopping Park morphed into a New York City-based Abraham & Straus in April 1992 and was Macy-ated in April 1995. A fourth mall expansion had been done in 1992-1993. This East Wing project added eleven inline stores and a 2-level (114,000 square foot) Lord & Taylor.
On November 21, 1998, the name of the complex was changed to Westfield Shoppingtown Trumbull. This would be truncated to Westfield Trumbull in June 2005. However, whatever official name was bestowed, locals continued to refer to the retail hub as the Trumbull Mall.
With the dissolution of Filene's in September 2006, Macy's moved from the south anchor space at Westfield Trumbull into the north. The old Read's building was demolished in 2007. It was replaced by a 2-level (190,000 square foot) Target.
The new discount store was the first stage of a major renovation. A 35 million dollar face lift commenced in the fall of 2009. It included new interior decor, flooring, skylights, an 11-bay Dining Terrace and remodeled Main Entrance. A re-dedication was held on November 19, 2010. The shopping center now spanned 1,130,600 leasable square feet, with a tenant roster of 168 stores and services.

Connecticut malls overwhelmed by teen fights
MILFORD - Last night, Milford police and Connecticut Post Mall security were overwhelmed by a crowd of roughly 200 kids fighting in the mall. So today, the mall implemented a temporary policy called the Parental Escort Program (PEP).
Fights broke out Thursday night at Westfarms Mall, Westfield Trumbull and at the Connecticut Post Mall all around the same time.
And, because of the sheer volume of kids that have shown up here at the Connecticut Post Mall the day after Christmas in each of the last two years, Connecticut Post has put their foot down.
The mall announced Friday afternoon its new policy, which states that today from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m. and both tomorrow and Sunday from 1 p.m. until close, anyone under the age of 18 must be escorted by an adult 21 or older.
“You want to feel safe,” said Natalie Maturo of Hamden. “You want you know your kids to feel safe. You don’t want to have to worry.”
“It’s not a place for fighting,” said Jenna Cavallaro of Hamden. “People come here with their families. They come here to shop obviously. It’s not a playground where these kids can act like that.”
Cavallaro said she was on her way to the mall with some friends last night.
“My dad actually did call me and he was like ‘don’t go to the mall,’” she said.
“I actually read where it happened last year at the same time,” said Kevin Boyd of Milford. “It seems like it’s a planned event. It’s crazy. They’ve got to put a stop to this stuff.”
The CT Post Mall policy states that mall says anyone age 21 or younger should be prepared to show one of the following forms of photo identification if I asked for one:
United States Driver's License
United States State-issued I.D.
Resident Alien Card
Passport
United States Military I.D.
Mexican Consulate I.D.
Canadian I.D.
No form of college or high school ID will be accepted.
“We've assigned one of our sergeants to all of our body worn camera footage and he is reviewing that,” said Ofc. Michael DeVito of the Milford Police Dept. “He’s downloading that as we speak.”
And that sergeant will also secure mall footage.
School resource officers from New Haven are also on board with helping to view any video.
“To see if they can identify some of the more involved combatants who made these Instagram posts that they were coming out here,” DeVito said.
Two malls did not have this sort of trouble last night. Those being Buckland Hills in Manchester and the Brass Mill Center in Waterbury. They have had they’re juvenile escort policy in place on weekends since Black Friday, which was over a month ago.

Hawley Lane Mall: Dead, Forgotten Hallway Mall - Raw & Real Retail
This is our walkthrough of the Hawley Lane Mall in Trumbull, CT from March 30, 2019. This is a tiny hallway mall that has long since seen its day. With a HomeGoods, Kohl's at the other, and Best Buy upstairs (the sole tenant upstairs), there isn't much more to this place. A jewelry store, optician, and Subway are all the inline tenants left. This mall seems to be suffering a death backwards from the usual, where the anchor stores are the last men standing.

Here is a short article from wikipedia:
Hawley Lane Mall is one of two shopping malls in Trumbull, Connecticut, located near Exit 8 of Route 8 North or South, also Exit 51 of Route 15 North, the Merritt Parkway and Exit 52 of Route 15 South, the Merritt Parkway. Current anchor stores include Best Buy, HomeGoods, Kohl's, and Target.
Hawley Lane Mall opened in 1971 with two anchor stores, Caldor (featuring a two-story design and belt escalators) and a Waldbaum's supermarket. Other, smaller stores such as B. Dalton booksellers and Hawley Lane Shoes have also called the mall home. A third anchor store, Sage-Allen took up residence on the mall's new upper level in 1982. During the late 1980s and early 1990s, the mall became less profitable due to expansions at both the Milford Crossroads & Trumbull Shopping Park malls. Sage-Allen went out of business in 1993, merging with to become Filene's, which in turn closed the Hawley Lane store so as not to compete with its larger locations in both Milford and Trumbull. Steinbach then took over the space between 1997 and 1999 before they went bankrupt. Caldor also went bankrupt in 1999, while at the same time all Waldbaum's stores closed and left the state. This left the mall with no anchor stores.
Shortly after purchasing the mall, National Realty and Development Corp. spent $8 million on a refit of the entire property in 2005. The firm also managed to add Kohl's and then HomeGoods as new anchor stores, which were quickly followed by Target and Best Buy. Target broke ground in late 2004, and at 124,500 square feet, it represents one fourth of the mall's size. This despite Target not having mall access. You would not know Target was a part of this property unless you drove around back.
Connecticut Post Mall - Raw & Real Retail
This is our walkthrough of the Connecticut Post Mall (commonly referred to as CT Post Mall) in Milford, CT from January 1, 2019. This is a big thriving mall in southern Connecticut, at the intersection of I-95 and Route 1. As such, it was a pretty nice mall, with the exception of the overly large clerestory windows running the perimeter of the mall, halfway blinding us the entire time we were walking the mall. It is currently home to the newest Boscov's in the chain, but not for long, as Providence Place is opening a Boscov's at the end of September 2019. It felt pretty good walking around this mall.

Here is some info from Wikipedia.
The Connecticut Post Mall (previously named the Connecticut Post Shopping Center and Westfield Connecticut Post) is a three-story shopping mall, located on the Boston Post Road (Route 1) in Milford, Connecticut. It is currently the largest mall in the state of Connecticut and is partially owned and operated by Centennial Properties. The mall currently houses over 215 retail stores. The anchor stores are Boscov's, Dave & Buster's, Dick's Sporting Goods, Macy's, and Target with one vacant anchor last occupied by Sears. The mall also features a 14 screen Cinemark (formerly Rave Cinemas), including an IMAX theater.
The original, open-air mall was built by Sol Atlas and opened in 1960, anchored by a W. & J. Sloane furniture store and a Stop & Shop supermarket at opposite ends. In 1962, the sixth branch of the Alexander's department store chain opened. Following an early fire at the west end of the mall, a Caldor discount store was built as the new anchor.
In 1981, the mall was enclosed. The mall underwent a renovation in 1990 which added the Skyview Cafe food court, and lost anchor Alexander's. On August 7, 1991, JCPenney opened in the former Alexander's space. G. Fox was added in 1991 and was rebranded as Filene's in 1993. Caldor closed on May 15, 1999 and was later demolished. Stop & Shop relocated to a freestanding store sometime in the late 1990s and was demolished for Sears which opened on April 1, 2000.
The Mall strongly opposed the proposed rival New Haven Galleria mall at Long Wharf, filing over 15 lawsuits.
A $118 million 480,000-square-foot expansion project took place in 2005–06, adding an additional level of parking, a 75,000-square-foot third floor to Filene's which was later rebranded as Macy's in 2006, a large extension to the building with a 55,000-square-foot movie theater (Connecticut Post 14, replacing the Milford Fourplex, previously located in an adjacent building. Was Cinema De Lux, later a Rave Cinemas, now a Cinemark), a new food court, and two more anchors, Dick's Sporting Goods and Target on the site of the former Caldor. In December 2015, Westfield sold Connecticut Post in a $1.1 billion deal involving 5 malls.
On March 17, 2017, it was announced that JCPenney would be closing as part of a plan close 138 stores nationwide. The store closed on July 31, 2017. On January 11, 2018, it was announced that Boscov's would be opening in the former JCPenney space on October 6, 2018. On October 15, 2018, it was announced that Sears would also be closing as part of a plan to close 142 stores nationwide. The store closed in January 2019. It is unknown what will replace that space. On November 7, 2018, Dave & Buster's opened in the space that was formally Steve & Barry's and buybuy BABY.

Here is a terribly structured wiki page for a brief history:
Enfield Square, formerly Westfield Shoppingtown Enfield Square, is an enclosed shopping mall that is located in Enfield, Connecticut. The mall is currently owned by the Namdar Realty Group. At 788,000 square feet, Enfield Square is the 10th largest mall in the State of Connecticut, containing 54 shops, all on one level. As of 2018, there is only a single anchor store: Target.
May Centers, the mall development branch of May Department Stores, built the Enfield Square, which opened in 1971, with three anchor stores: G. Fox, JCPenney and Steiger's. In 1993, G. Fox was converted to a Filene's store as a result of a merger. Steiger's ceased operations at the east side of the mall in 1994 when the chain went out of business. In 1996, the owner of the mall, CenterMark Properties, was acquired by the Westfield Group. On April 26, 1997, Sears opened in the space formerly occupied by Steiger's. In 1998, the property, valued at $50 million, was transferred to Enfield Square LLC and was rebranded as Westfield Shoppingtown Enfield Square.
In August 2000, JCPenney closed as a result of a nationwide closing of unprofitable stores. The space remained vacant until Filene's expanded operations by moving its men's and home departments there in February 2001. Target built a new anchor on the north side of the mall in October 2001. In 2006, both of the Filene's stores were rebranded as Macy's after yet another merger. Additionally, the Westfield Group sold the property to Brixmor Property Group (then known as Centro Properties Group US) for $80 million. In 2012, Brixmor Property Group hired Madison Marquette to manage the Enfield Square.
In January 2016, Macy's announced they were closing both of the locations at the mall as a result of a nationwide closing of unprofitable stores. In February 2016, J.P. Morgan Chase foreclosed on the mall after Brixmor Property Group (Centro Enfield LLC), defaulted on a $240 million loan taken out in 2006 for renovation purposes. On August 7, 2016, the Ruby Tuesday location at the mall closed. On December 28, 2016, Sears announced that it would close its Enfield Square location in April 2017 as part of a plan to close 150 stores nationwide which left Target as the only remaining anchor store. Party City moved their Enfield location into the mall in 2017. On April 25, 2017, Express announced that its Enfield Square location would be closed on May 6, 2017. In June 2018, KeyPoint Partners was chosen to manage the mall.
The property was sold by J.P. Morgan Chase through online auction company Ten-X.com on December 12, 2018 for $10.85 million, however, the buyer was not identified. On January 15, 2019 it was announced that the property was purchased by Namdar Realty Group.
