Exploring The Cotswolds In England - Tetbury And Westonbirt Arboretum
A trip to Tetbury and Westonbirt Arboretum in the Cotswolds part of England over the Easter weekend. Tetbury is a small town in the Cotswold district of Gloucestershire.
The Cotswolds is an area of England, about 800 square miles which is famous for pretty little villages, bustling market towns and beautiful countryside, hills and landscapes.
Just south of Tetbury is Westonbirt - The National Arboretum.
Trees from around the world were first planted in the 1850s by the Victorian landowner Robert Holford and now there are over 15,000 trees around from the world including Britain, China, North America, Japan and Chile.
Westonbirt Arboretum is now run by the Forestry Commission and is open every day except Christmas Day.

Westonbirt, The National Arboretum is managed by the Forestry Commission. Westonbirt Arboretum is located near the historic market town of Tetbury in Gloucestershire, England, and is perhaps the most important and widely known arboretum in the United Kingdom.
Planted in the heyday of Victorian plant hunting in the mid-19th century, today Westonbirt Arboretum is one of the finest tree collections in the world, carefully laid out within a Grade One listed historic landscape.

We visited the Westonbirt Arboretum in June, but I never got round to uploading the video, so here is a little extra from our Meetup Tour.
Westonbirt, The National Arboretum, is located in Gloucestershire, three miles from the Cotswold market town of Tetbury.
The historic, Victorian picturesque landscape and internationally important tree and shrub collection is managed by the Forestry Commission and supported by the Friends of Westonbirt Arboretum.
The 15,000 labelled trees (around 2,500 different types of tree) come from Britain, China, North America, Japan, Chile and other temperate climates. Planting started in the 1850s by Robert Holford; the rich Victorian landowner to whom the Westonbirt estate belonged.
