Westonbury Mill Water Gardens - Herefordshire
Westonbury Mill Water Gardens are the quite unique creation of Richard Pim, a former hydrologist who has used his knowledge of moving water for crop irrigation to build some amazing water driven follies surrounded by relaxing gardens. Westonbury is now famous for Richard's water powered Giant Cuckoo Clock (see its' inner workings here: ) which is housed in a 2 storey, half timbered tower. Other interesting follies include the Stone Tower with water spewing gargoyle and an incredible dome with 5,000 wine bottles in its' roof.

Westonbury Mill Water Gardens - Herefordshire Attractions
An amazing 3.5 acre water garden in the grounds of a former corn mill criss-crossed by streams, with moisture loving plants around the mill ponds. Fascinating stone built tower with water wheel lifting mill stream water to the top from where it spurts forth out of a gargoyle's mouth at intervals. The tower also includes a dovecote!
A dome shaped grotto offers a wonderfully colourful display through empty wine bottles built into the walls which can be seen in a reflecting pool surrounded by ferns. The garden offers views across ponds and streams in all directions thanks to a well thought out design.
Westonbury Mill Water Gardens are a very tranquil space in glorious Herefordshire countryside and well worth a visit.
Water Powered Cuckoo Clock @ Westonbury Mill Water Gardens
Westonbury Water Mill Gardens are a fascinating combination of water garden and follies located near Pembury in Herefordshire. Designed and constructed by owner Richard Pim, the follies are quite unique and the water theme runs through each folly (see the entire garden here: ).
Richard's most recent and ambitious folly is this 2 storey, timber framed, water powered cuckoo clock, constructed in the heart of his garden over a 3 year period. Visitors can see the internal workings of the clock which extend across the 2 floors of the clock tower, and the cuckoo can be heard throughout the garden on the hour.

Driving through Pembridge, UK, in my Rx3 coupe, past 800 year old buildings.
Such a cool town on the A44 that we would often pass through on the way to Wales for mountain biking trips. This town is well known for having lots of very old timber framed buildings. As you drive through you can see how wonky the timber frame work with some of the houses on quite a lean.

Transformation of St Peter’s Church, Hereford
The decision was made by the Parochial Church Council to re-order the church building to enable it to be used for a variety of functions associated with the outreach works as well as the Sunday and Civic services. The three areas that the design was required to address were: providing an inviting entrance, which was accessible by all; providing an open plan, multi-use, flexible space that could be used for any activity; installing heating and services to enable the space to be warm, comfortable and useable.

Croft Castle (Herefordshire) 14.06.07
Filmed during refurbishment in 2007, with views from the scaffolding. Croft Castle is a castle, church and garden located at Yarpole, Herefordshire, England. It is a National Trust property which is open to the public. A building has been on the site from the 11th century and it has from this time been the home of the Croft family and Croft baronets. The Croft family were closely linked to their neighbours the Mortimers of Wigmore and later Ludlow. The Battle of Mortimer's Cross took place on Croft lands nearby in 1461. The present building originated as a castle in the 14th century and has been much altered since. It was the home of a John Croft who married one of Owain Glyndŵr's daughters. In the 15th century the Croft family adopted the Welsh Wyvern crest, a wounded black dragon, seen as a subtle allusion to their Glyndwr heritage. Croft Castle was restored after slighting in the Civil War. It now consists of a stone quadrangular manor house with a small castellated round tower at each corner and a small square tower flanking the north side. The castle is under the care of the National Trust and members of the Croft family still live within it.
