Best Seafood in Taipei Fish Market & Addiction Aquatic Development 上引水產 Taiwan - vlog #044 part 1
It's day two for me in Taipei and today we'll be using the local transportation in order to get some fresh seafood at Taipei Fish Market & Addiction Aquatic Development 上引水產. I've been to Tsukiji Fish Market in Tokyo, Noryangjin & Garak Fish Market in Seoul, and when I heard Taipei had their own, I definitely had to pay a visit. There are two sides I believe to the market and one side is the Addiction Aquatic Development and the other side is the Taipei Fish Market. Before you decide to head here make sure you have cash, because I believe it is cash only unless things have changed at the Addiction Aquatic Development in Taiwan.
You'll primarily be on the left side of the market and once entering you will immediately see the huge tanks full of live seafood. You can purchase these and I think you might also be able to ask them to cook the seafood for you as well. As you make your way through the fish market there will be tons of stations that you can visit where you can buy vegetables, fruits, seafood, and sushi. You can also go to the Seafood Bar and Sushi Bar and other sections to get a spot to eat at one of their standing tables.
I tried a few things at the market and one of the things that I wanted to try was the Taiwanese Crab, however I wasn't a huge fan of it. I grew up eating blue crab so my palate prefers the sweetness of the blue crab over this. I also tried a few pieces of sashimi, nigiri, and also some prawns. The fish quality for my sashimi and nigiri was really good and tasted delicious. On top of it, the portion sizes are quite large. The prices here are really reasonable for sashimi and maybe on the cheaper side when comparing it back to the U.S. If you're looking for the best seafood in Taipei, you need to come here and taste their delicious seafood. If you're not a fan of seafood, no worries there are a bunch of meat dishes and some vegetarian dishes as well at the other counters.
After you finish eating your meal, I'll explore the other side of the market. Outside in the middle is a sit down restaurant where you can order food I believe and on the right side of the market is frozen seafood shop. As a tourist you probably wouldn't buy much there, so I recommend you just staying mostly on the left side of the market. Greatd hotel and location. Vibrant environment, makes you feel young again. No wonder friends speak very highly of W Taipei. Will stay again next time. If check-in and check-out can be more efficient and no queue, even better.
We loved it! Very cool vibe at the bar too, will definitely stay there again.
Minuses:
OK, the only thing I didn't like is that apart from the water, not a single of the tons of snacks was complimentary.

How to get from Cebu City to Badian?
Ride a bus (preferably, Ceres) at Cebu South Bus Terminal. You can either take the bus route Bato via Barili or Samboan via Barili. The earliest trip is 4AM. I recommend you take the first trip. The fare going to Badian is PHP 160 (125 for students). Badian is located 3 hours away from Cebu City. Tell the conductor to drop you off at Patigdas Store (if you contacted Sir Erwin) or at the entrance of Kawasan Falls.
How much is the package? What are the inclusions?
Ideally, it's PHP 1,500/pax. I think you can get a cheaper package from people selling near Kawasan Falls but we opted for a safer and more known agency. The package includes a life vest, helmet, bottled water, a fudgee bar, entrance fees, habal-habal rides, lunch at the end of the activity, and of course, a trained guide. You can also borrow a pair of rubber shoes if you don't want your own shoes to get wet.
Is it a whole day activity?
Nope. We started the canyoneering around 9AM and then we had our lunch at Kawasan Falls around 12:30PM. It depends on your group's pacing, actually. But normally, it takes about 4-5 hours to finish the activity as per Kuya Rey, our guide.
What do I bring during canyoneering?
You can bring your action camera. It's a must! How else will you capture your epic adventure? You can bring your phone and your wallet if you have a dry bag or a waterproof case. As for your other belongings, you can just leave them at Sir Erwin's place for safekeeping.
