Wetzlar City Life
Wetzlar is a city in the state of Hesse, Germany. Located at 8° 30′ E, 50° 34′ N, Wetzlar straddles the river Lahn and is on the German Timber-Frame Road which passes mile upon mile of half-timbered houses. Historically, the city has acted as the hub of the Lahn-Dill-Kreis on the north edge of the Taunus. The city is known for its ancient town and its medieval cathedral.
Notable architectural features include the Eisenmarkt and the steep gradients and tightly packed street layout of a medieval town. The sandstone cathedral of St. Mary was commenced in the 12th century as a Romanesque building. In the later Middle Ages the construction was continued under a master plan in Gothic style. The church was never finished, as one steeple still remains uncompleted. The cathedral suffered heavy damage in the Second World War from aerial bombing, but was restored in the 1950s. On the outskirts of town the ruins of several stone towers are to be found, situated along the river.
In 1975, the town hosted the 15th Hessentag state festival, and in 2012 the 62nd.

Wetzlar ist eine Stadt in Mittelhessen und ehemalige freie Reichsstadt.
Die wichtigsten Sehenswürdigkeiten befinden sich in der historischen Altstadt mit dem romanisch/gotischen Dom, den Museen und den behutsam restaurierten Fachwerkhäusern. Die Altstadt zieht sich mit Gassen und kleinen Plätzen terrassenförmig zur Lahn und zur alten Lahnbrücke hinab.

In the final part of our series on architectural highlights that never reached completion we visit Wetzlar Cathedral situated on the Lahn river around 50 km north of Frankfurt.

Wetzlar is a really nice city of Germany, a lot of history you can say. Mike already knew Wetzlar because he lived there for two mounts for his school. The first 30 sec. of the video hi's taking Anna to his Favorited ice cream shop. Like every city who has corner streets there is someone singing an instrument, in this case was an Accordion.
we visited Wetzlar Cathedral, and after we eat we went climbing in to the Mines of Moria. (Or a forest in Wetzlar. ) Anna broke a wooden column.

Tag des Flüchtlings in Wetzlar
Rund 250 Menschen kamen am 26. September auf dem Domplatz zusammen, um den Flüchtlingstag zu begehen. Mit Musik, Ansprachen und Interviews kam es zu einer herzlichen Begegnung zwischen Einheimischen und Flüchtlingen.
Unter dem Motto „angekommen – angenommen“ standen die Schicksale der in unserer Region lebenden Flüchtlinge im Mittelpunkt. Dazu kamen Flüchtlinge aus allen 20 Gemeinschaftsunterkünften sowie ehrenamtliche Begleiter des Arbeitskreises Asyl zu einem Gedenken zusammen.
Musik einer syrischen Gruppe, von Marco und seinen Flüchtlingsfreunden sowie von Gertrud und Dirk Schmalenbach begleiteten das bunte Treffen.
„Gemeinsam gegen Rassismus“, so hat der Verein pro asyl den bundesweit stattfindenden Tag des Flüchtlings überschrieben. Er will darauf hinweisen, dass Rechte Hetze gegen Flüchtlinge und rassistische Gewalttaten zunehmen. Statistisch gesehen finden in Deutschland pro Woche fünf flüchtlingsfeindliche Kundgebungen oder Demonstrationen statt. Zu Angriffen auf Flüchtlingsunterkünften kommt es im Schnitt mindestens ein Mal pro Woche. Zum Tag des Flüchtlings ruft “pro asyl“ deshalb dazu auf, rassistischen Vorurteilen entschieden zu widersprechen, Flüchtlinge willkommen zu heißen und sich rechten Hetzern in den Weg zu stellen.
