Wexford is the county town of County Wexford, Ireland. Wexford lies on the south side of Wexford Harbour, the estuary of the River Slaney near the southeastern corner of the island of Ireland. The town is linked to Dublin by the M11/N11 National Primary Route; and to Rosslare Europort, Cork and Waterford by the N25. The national rail network connects it to Dublin and Rosslare Europort. It had a population of 20,188 according to the 2016 census.

Wexford Wildfowl Reserve The North Slob

Wexford Wildfowl Reserve is located on the North side of Wexford Harbour, in Ardcavan Castlebridge Wexford. The land around the reserve were originally mudflats and the the land was reclaimed and are now known as sloblands. The North Slob is a haven for wildfowl and a number of bird species such as geese, swans and wigeon inhabit the lands. The reserve is open all year round for tourists and visitors alike. Visitors to the reserve can look forward to an educational experience learning about the history of the sloblands, and the wildfowl that inhabit the lands. The land also houses a graveyard dating back from 1798, which is of historic importance, as many of the rebels who took part in the rebellion of 1798 are interred there.
