Whale Watching Holmavik - Iceland Whale Watching Westfjords
Holmavik means whale watching in the remote Westfjords of Iceland. The most common whales in the fjord are humpback whales. The fjord is incredible sheltered from most wind directions meaning tours rarely have to be cancelled. Our 2 hour tour with almost 100% sighting guarantee is one of the shortest and most affordable whale watching options in Iceland. The perfect trip for families or travelers who are afraid of getting sea sick.
Humpback whale jumping out of the water in Iceland (Hjalteyri)
I was watching 4 humpback whales from a boat following them, in Hjalteyri (Eyjafjörður fjord) in Iceland, when suddenly, another whale jumped out of the water!
I got very lucky to watch that, as well as to be filming at this exact time!

Whale watching in Iceland
Extreme whale watching vs. normal whale watching. You cannot go wrong with any choice. Extreme is for only a few people and is pretty fast, the boat is kinda jumping on the waves. It is so much fun. If you take the big boat, you can walk around and see the whales from higher spots. You get really close to whales with both options. Take the kayak or drive around the fjord ;)
